Trunks Briefs
Backstory:
Future Trunks is the Saiyan and Human hybrid son of Vegeta and Bulma from the alternate future. Future Trunks hails from an alternate timeline in which Android 17 and Android 18 murdered most of the Z Fighters except for Gohan and himself, creating a dystopia. With the aid of Bulma's time machine, Trunks traveled to the past to prevent such a grim future from happening in other timelines and investigate how to defeat the androids. He is forcibly recruited into the Time Patrol by Chronoa, the Supreme Kai of Time, as penance for the sin of travelling through time. He has been a core member of the Time Patrol ever since, and is a key figure in the protection of time from those who would disrupt it for their own gain.

Song: Xeno-Quest
The air above the Gallopolis desert was thick and shimmering with reflected heat, disturbed only by the occasional dust devil swirling around ancient, sun-blasted stone ruins. This profound stillness was violently shattered. A perfect, pulsing circle of sapphire light erupted three feet above the cracked, ochre sands, humming with the temporal energy of the Time Nest.
From this portal, Trunks Briefs, the Time Patroller, dropped lightly onto the desert floor, his heavy sword sheathed securely on his back. The moment his boots connected with the ground, the temporal gateway snapped shut. Trunks immediately disliked this place. He adjusted his purple denim jacket, his gaze sweeping the horizon. Chronoa’s words still chafed like sand under his boots:
“You’re getting sloppy, Trunks! Complacent! Mechikabura wasn’t beaten by your skill alone; it was a team effort, and frankly, your recent incompetence is causing Mee to do most of your heavy lifting when the chips are down. I'm sending you somewhere new to train somewhere you're not used to. Sharpen your mind like that blade, or don’t bother coming back!”
He knew she was right, and that realization stung more than her scolding. He had relied too much on his Saiyan heritage, on easy transformations and rapid Ki manipulation, neglecting to think his plans through beyond kneejerk impulses.
His eyes fixed upon the only figure nearby: a young man standing a respectful distance away, clad in traveling clothes reinforced with practical armor, clutching a finely wrought silver sword. This stranger, known locally as the Luminary, carried himself with the quiet, authoritative bearing of a true hero. He had witnessed Trunks’s sudden appearance and held a look of profound, albeit silent, surprise. Trunks offered a respectful nod. His tone was formal, respecting the hero before him.
"Apologies for the sudden entrance. I am Trunks. I was sent here for a very specific purpose. I need a training partner, someone who can help me become stronger to protect those that I hold dear. Would you accept a spar?"
The Luminary, the Prince of Dundrasil, merely tilted his head slightly, acknowledging the request. He did not speak, he could not, but his answer was clear in the steady, unflinching blue of his eyes and the firm grip he took on the hilt of his weapon. He nodded once, drawing his sword with a practiced, silent flourish.
Trunks smiled grimly. This was exactly what he needed: a test where overwhelming power was irrelevant. He unsheathed his own broadsword, the familiar weight a comfort in his hands. He knew he could end this spar in a fraction of a second with a blast or by ascending into Super Saiyan right away, but those easy outs were exactly what Chronoa had stripped from him.
"Just the swords. Let’s see what we’ve got."
Trunks called out, taking a wide, martial stance that felt clumsy after months of relying on mid-air assaults.
The Luminary did not rush. He took a measured breath, his stance low and defensive, blade held vertically, point angled towards Trunks’s throat. It was a classic, elegant posture, prioritizing defense and counter-timing.
Trunks moved first, a quick burst of speed covering the distance, testing the water with a high, diagonally downward slash designed to force a block and assess the opponent's strength. The Luminary met the blow. The resulting clash echoed harshly in the silent desert.
Trunks was immediately impressed. The Luminary’s block wasn't powered by Ki or overwhelming strength; it was simple skill. The angle of the parry was perfect, directing Trunks's powerful strike harmlessly outward, off the blade’s spine. The Luminary didn't stumble, didn't strain; he merely waited, leveraging Trunks’s momentum against him.
Trunks pressed the attack, throwing a rapid series of feints and thrusts aimed at the shoulders and ribs. He moved faster than any human in this universe was likely capable of, relying purely on the honed speed that came from years of traversing time, but the Luminary seemed to track him without issue.
The Luminary's defense was a closed gate. Every thrust was met with a crisp, economical movement. Trunks aimed a powerful horizontal swing at the Luminary’s midsection; the hero stepped back a single inch, allowing the blade to pass within a hair’s width, simultaneously flicking his own sword forward in a razor-sharp counter-thrust aimed at his exposed wrist.
Trunks had to yank his arm back sharply, breaking off the offensive chain entirely. He realized with a jolt that he was being outclassed purely in blade technique. The Luminary possessed an almost scholarly understanding of swordsmanship, parrying with textbook perfection, blocking with weighted precision to absorb shock, and his movements created perpetual openings for immediate ripostes.
"He’s better than I am. I only know how to swing and block.”
Trunks grudgingly admitted internally. He knows the forms, the counters, the true geometry of the sword fight. Mindful of his commitment to fairness, he maintained low-level Ki reinforcement, allowing him to move swiftly but forcing him to keep his feet firmly planted in the shifting sand.
Trunks circled, his breathing deep and regulated. He needed to change the rules of engagement. If the Luminary was a master of the blade, he'd integrate his other combat skills to compliment his lacking prowess.
He lunged again, but this time, the attack was a massive bluff. He threw a wide, sweeping horizontal slice aimed at the Luminary’s knee, knowing it would be blocked with a downward parry. The Luminary took the bait, dropping his center of gravity slightly and bringing his blade down to catch the incoming steel.
This was Trunks’s moment. The instant his sword locked with the Luminary’s, creating a momentary dead zone, Trunks dropped his shoulder and drove the heel of his free hand forward in a thunderous, short-range hammer blow aimed right at the Luminary’s cheek. The Luminary’s eyes widened, the silent gasp perceptible in his posture.
He was fast, adapting instantly. He couldn't move his head far enough, so he pulled his sword back from the block, using the flat of the steel to absorb the shock of Trunks’s hand strike. The impact jarred the Luminary, forcing him back three shuffling steps in the sand, his grip slightly shaking.
Trunks pressed the advantage instantly, closing the distance while the Luminary was still resetting his stance. Trunks kept his sword high, using it as a threat, but executed a swift, low crescent kick aimed at the Luminary’s unprotected thigh.
The kick connected slightly, forcing the hero to hop awkwardly to maintain balance. The Luminary's sword art was flawless, but his hand-to-hand defense was non-existent. He was trained to fight with a sword's length of distance; he lacked the inherent flexibility and close-quarters combat training that the Saiyan worked hard for. Trunks grinned, feeling the rust finally flake away from his fighting spirit. This was the fight he needed.
"You're good, but you're too reliant on the blade!"
Trunks complimented, ducking under a frantic, compensatory slash from the Luminary. Trunks moved in close, almost grappling distance. He used the flat of his own heavy sword to lightly bat the Luminary’s blade aside, creating a momentary gap, and then delivered a clean, rapid elbow strike toward the hero’s ribcage.
The Luminary tried to react by twisting his whole body, driving the hilt of his own sword into the path of Trunks’s elbow, using the weapon as a full-body shield. It was a desperation move, but brilliant in its execution. The Luminary was quickly learning to integrate his primary weapon into a holistic defense, forcing Trunks to back pedal before the hero could transition from defense back into a furious, technical counter-attack.
Breathing hard, sweat already soaking into his purple clothes, Trunks took a few steps back to regain the tactical standoff. The Luminary stood equally exerted, his chest rising and falling rapidly under his armor, his eyes blazing with fierce concentration. Trunks’s heart hammered a rhythm he hadn't felt since facing down a demonic god. This hero, silent and grounded, was providing a good challenge.
"Alright, round two. Let's see if you can handle this."
Trunks panted, wiping sweat from his brow. Trunks raised his Ki slightly, not enough for a transformation, but enough to vibrate the sword in his hand, ready to commit to a rapid, punishing assault.
The desert air, usually a dry whisper, crackled with an energy that spoke of more than just the sun’s oppressive heat. The rocky terrain of Gallopolis was their arena, a stark expanse of sand and stone groaning under the weight of a battle that had long since shed its friendly guise. Trunks, the Saiyan Time Patroller, and the Luminary, the silent prince of Dundrasil, were locked in a dance of destruction, a testament to the escalating power that now defined their conflict.
Trunks had found a rhythm, a brutal synergy between the honed edge of his sword and the raw power of his amplified Saiyan physique. His strikes came not just with the clang of steel, but with the brutal force of a fist, a jab, a sweeping kick that left the Luminary scrambling to anticipate. The prince, accustomed to the elegant ballet of his own magic, found himself perpetually a step behind, a breath too late. He parried a sword stroke, only to find Trunks’s elbow already driving into his ribs. He dodged a kick, but a palm strike slammed into his chest, sending him staggering back.
The Luminary’s eyes, usually pools of calm, now held a flicker of desperation. He needed space, a moment to breathe, to regain his footing in this whirlwind of unpredictable aggression. He brought his sword up, the familiar gleam of enchanted steel catching the harsh sunlight. With a focused intent, he channeled his arcane power, the air coalescing around the blade as he used Brightsplitter. The incantation, though silent, vibrated through the battlefield as a searing beam of pure light erupted from the Luminary’s sword. It was a forceful shove, a desperate plea for distance.
Trunks, caught in the blinding flash, instinctively raised his sword to block. The light slammed against his blade, the impact jarring his arms, but he held his ground as he was sent skidding back through the sand. Seeing his opening, the Luminary pressed his advantage. He followed the projectile with a quick, sharp movement, his sword arcing through the air. A jolt of crackling yellow energy shot from the Luminary’s sword, seeking out Trunks. The Saiyan, still recovering from the Brightsplitter, felt the shock surge through his blade, a painful, electrifying jolt that made his teeth ache.
The sparring had veered dangerously into genuine combat. The raw power, the focused intent behind each move, spoke of a new level of commitment. Trunks felt the shift, the subtle but undeniable increase in the Luminary’s power. It was time to answer. His familiar golden aura, a beacon of Saiyan might, began to erupt from his body, the air around him shimmering with heat. His hair, normally a soft blue, stiffened and spiked upwards, turning a brilliant, incandescent gold. He wasn’t just Trunks anymore; he was Super Saiyan 2.
The transformation was a shock to the Luminary. He had witnessed many powers from friend and foe alike, but this… this was something else entirely. The aura of pure, untamed power radiating from Trunks was unlike anything he had ever encountered. It was primal, overwhelming, a force of nature unleashed. He could feel the ground tremble beneath the sheer magnitude of Trunks’s ki.
Trunks wasted no time. The surge of power fueled a new ferocity in his assault. His movements became a blur, a rapid series of arm motions that were too fast for the Luminary to fully process. It was a complex sequence, a prelude to something devastating. His arms crossed tightly across his chest, a coiled spring of energy. Then, with a deliberate, almost reverent gesture, he brought his palms forward, his thumbs and index fingers touching to form a perfect diamond shape. Between those joined hands, a sphere of incandescent fiery energy began to coalesce, pulsating with contained power. He roared, echoing across the desolate landscape. The sphere launched forward, a blinding comet of destruction aimed squarely at the Luminary.
The Luminary, though stunned by Trunks’s transformation, was not one to be easily cowed. Survival instincts, honed by years of dedicated training and a deep connection to his arcane heritage, kicked in. He met the incoming energy sphere not with evasion, but with defiance. He raised his sword, its hilt glowing with a faint, ethereal light. He used Kafrizz, the energy of his fire spell met Trunks’s Burning Attack head-on. A cataclysmic explosion erupted, a blinding flash of light and a deafening roar that shook the very foundations of the desert. For a moment, neither combatant could see, the world reduced to a tempest of raw power.
When the dust began to settle, Trunks saw his chance. The Luminary, disoriented by the explosion, was momentarily vulnerable. With a powerful leap, Trunks ascended into the sky, his golden aura trailing behind him like a celestial comet. He twisted in mid-air, his sword held high, ready to bring it down in a thunderous, decisive blow. The downward slash was a thing of terrifying beauty, a golden arc of destruction descending upon his opponent.
The Luminary, recovering his senses just in time, planted his feet firmly in the sand. He raised his sword again, meeting Trunks’s descending strike with a defiant parry. The impact was colossal. The ground beneath them buckled and cracked, sending plumes of sand and rock flying into the air. The desert around them was instantly scoured clean, the sand a swirling maelstrom as the sheer force of the collision pushed everything outwards. The Luminary’s feet sank deep into the freshly disturbed earth, his muscles straining, his blade groaning under the immense pressure.
But even the diamond-hard earth couldn’t hold against the sheer force of the amplified energy. Trunks pressed his advantage, the Super Saiyan 2 power pushing his strength beyond its normal limits. Seeing Trunks’s relentless onslaught, the Luminary realized he couldn’t simply block. He needed to create separation, to disrupt Trunks’s momentum. He drew upon a swift, gale-force enchantment called Kaswoosh!. A powerful magical tornado erupted from the Luminary’s sword, a swirling vortex of wind and sand that slammed into Trunks with immense force. The Saiyan, caught off guard by the sudden shift in tactics, was sent tumbling backwards, his golden aura flickering as he struggled to regain control.
He landed with a grunt, skidding across the sand for several yards before coming to a halt. He pushed himself up, his eyes narrowed in concentration. The Luminary was dangerous, unpredictable. Trunks decided to adapt, to pressure him from a different angle. He thrust his hands forward, two small, shimmering spheres of ki coalescing between his palms. He fired them in quick succession, a rapid barrage of energy blasts aimed to overwhelm the Luminary.
But the prince of Dundrasil had anticipated this. He moved with fluid grace, his sword a blur of motion. Each ki blast that came towards him was met with a precise, metronomic strike of his blade. The enchanted steel seemed to absorb the energy of Trunks’s attacks, only to redirect it, sending the blasts harmlessly spiraling away into the vastness of the desert, or even back towards Trunks with a slight shift in trajectory.
Trunks gritted his teeth. This was becoming a stalemate, a frustrating exchange of blows and deflected attacks. He couldn’t afford to be outmaneuvered. He needed to close the distance, to force the Luminary into a position where his magic couldn’t be as effectively countered. With a surge of renewed determination, Trunks charged forward, his Super Saiyan 2 aura blazing.
The Luminary met his charge, his own sword now radiating a potent, heroic energy. It was a different kind of power than Trunks’s raw, explosive might; it was a focused, unwavering light, a testament to the prince’s inherent nobility and divine reincarnation. He infused his blade with this power, his intention clear. With a powerful, two-handed swing, he unleashed Gigasmash.
The energy that erupted from the Luminary’s sword was blinding, a wave of pure, heroic power that seemed to dwarf even Trunks’s Super Saiyan 2 aura. Trunks raised his sword to block, the familiar instinct kicking in. But this time, the Luminary’s attack was too much. The heroic energy surged through the Luminary's blade, overwhelming Trunks's parry. With a sickening crack, Trunks's sword, the very symbol of his mastery, shattered into a thousand pieces. The raw power of Gigasmash continued its assault, slamming into Trunks’s chest. He cried out as the energy tore through his armor, tearing through his flesh. An electrifying jolt coursed through his body, the heroic energy burning him from the inside out, leaving him gasping for breath, his own golden aura flickering and dimming as he fell, defeated for the moment, onto the sand. The Luminary stood over him, his sword still radiating a faint, powerful glow, the silent hero in a battle that had pushed both combatants to their absolute limits.
Trunks knelt down, his battle jacket ripped and his chest aching with a deep, punishing ache. He was breathing heavily, his blonde Super Saiyan locks shimmering violently. It was a devastating display of a power he had perhaps underestimated; a fusion of potent magic and Herculean physical strength.
His Saiyan instincts, honed across countless timelines, screamed at him to create distance. If he stayed close, the Luminary could chain attacks with relentless speed. Trunks shot skyward, ascending several hundred feet, stabilizing himself just above the hazy, heat-distorted horizon line. The Luminary waited, his posture relaxed, yet radiating an untouchable, golden sanctity.
Trunks spread his arms wide, fingers splayed. The light of the solar noon dimmed, eclipsed by the furious, roaring golden ki that poured from his body. Every ounce of concentration was dedicated to harnessing and compressing this volatile energy. The desert sands below began to lift and swirl, reacting violently to the sheer pressure of the gathering power.
"Final Flash!"
With a guttural roar, Trunks thrust his palms forward. The gathered energy erupted not as a steady beam, but as a colossal, hyper-concentrated torrent of incandescent light—wider than a small asteroid, screaming across the desert at impossible speeds. The air combusted in its wake, leaving a void of silence.
The Luminary, who had braced himself for powerful attacks, found his calm demeanor shattered by the sheer magnitude of the incoming blast. The attack was too broad, too fast, and too overwhelming to simply deflect. He moved instantly, an elegant blur of motion as he leapt horizontally out of the main path of the Final Flash, the golden energy carving a furrow of superheated glass where he had stood moments before.
He watched, breathless, as the titanic beam raced across the barren landscape. It crossed the horizon, swallowed the distant, jagged desert mountains. Miles away, well into the uncharted sands, the Final Flash exploded. The resulting mushroom cloud was immense, not unlike the detonation of a high-powered Megaton warhead. A silent, blinding flash of white light was followed moments later by a thunderous, earth-shaking shockwave that rolled back toward the fighters, kicking up a massive wall of dust.
The Luminary felt a cold knot of realization tighten in his stomach. He had faced foes of world-ending power, abyssal demons, and corrupted gods, yet the casual, tactical destruction Trunks had just deployed was jarring. This was power that rearranged geological features.
The hero gulped, genuinely impressed and slightly unnerved. He turned back to the Saiyan, refusing to let the display discourage him. Trunks had used his great power; now the Luminary would counter with his greatest magic. Raising his hand, the Luminary cast another spell called Big Banga.
The space immediately surrounding Trunks twisted and warped, folding in on itself. The Saiyan, having just expended tremendous energy, had no time to recover or evade. The targeted space exploded violently, soundlessly, imploding with a concentrated gravitational force that tore at Trunks’ very being.
A sharp cry of pain escaped the Time Patroller’s lips as the forces battered him, tearing through his aura. He tumbled through the air, momentarily disabled, falling back toward the smoke cloud created by the attack. The Luminary let out a sigh of relief. That should have put the Time Patroller down, or at least ended the session.
But the atmosphere itself began to shake, vibrating with a low, primeval hum that had nothing to do with the wind. The remaining smoke cloud began to glow from within, not with the hostile gold of Super Saiyan, but with a deep, furious crimson.
The smoke cloud was instantly incinerated by a fiery aura of divine ki. Trunks stabilized, hovering calmly once more. His hair was no longer gold, but a muted, vibrant magenta, and his eyes burned with the focused concentration of a true deity. He had ascended to Super Saiyan God.
The immense power he now radiated was perfectly contained, terrifyingly precise. There was no wasted energy, only overwhelming, focused intent. Trunks raised his hands skyward, divine ki coalescing above him. The energy sphere that formed was much smaller than the Final Flash, but it pulsed with a far more concentrated, terrifying density—a miniature, contained star.
He swung his hands down, firing the crimson orb directly at the Luminary. The Luminary did not dodge this time. He raised his simple, uncharged sword, recognizing the need for defense. He channeled his own sacred power, the blade humming rapidly as the red death approached.
The blast struck the sword, and the hero stiffened, groaning against the strain. His feet were instantly pushed backward, carving deep trenches through the desert sand as he fought a losing battle against the divine momentum. The ground shook violently, his muscles screaming.
With a final, desperate surge of will, the Luminary applied a perfect, rotating slice, channeling the massive energy blast and splitting it in two. The two halves of the crimson ki sphere raced past him—one turning his left, the other turning his right—and detonated simultaneously several miles behind him. The explosions were clean, devastating, and confirmed that Trunks was no longer holding back.
But the defense had left him exposed.
Before the Luminary could reclaim his footing, a blinding red flash materialized directly behind him. Trunks, moving utilizing the lightning-fast reflexes of his God state, planted a vicious, upward kick that caught the Luminary under the chin. The hero shot skyward, disoriented and vulnerable.
Trunks followed instantly, ascending faster than the Luminary could fall. He raised his hands high above his head, the red ki flowing into his palms and forming a massive, contained dome of energy.
"Heat Dome Attack!"
Trunks slammed the energy upwards at the airborne hero. The resulting explosion was a tremendous pillar of compressed energy that shot hundreds of feet into the sky, vaporizing the atmosphere above them. It was a focused, relentless strike, a finishing blow designed to incapacitate entirely.
When the massive pillar of energy dissipated, the Luminary fell, plummeting through the air. He hit the desert sands hard, skidding and rolling before coming to a stop, his body smoking, his clothes scorched, and his consciousness hanging by a thread. The sheer power of the blast should have disintegrated him, but his inherent divine resilience and the protective enchantments surrounding him held just enough. He was barely conscious, his vision swimming, his life force depleted.
The Luminary didn't waste a second lamenting his state. With a focused mental command, he activated his most potent restorative measure. A brilliant, comfortin ggreen light enveloped the hero, flooding his body with revitalizing energy. The wounds vanished, the fatigue receded, and the scorching heat eased. Within the span of a single breath, the Luminary was restored completely, not just physically, but mentally.
He rose, dismissing his ordinary sword and pulling the pinnacle of his armaments from thin air: the Supreme Sword of Light. The blade, radiating a gentle, holy light, felt perfect in his grasp. Trunks prepared himself, watching with an analytical eye, noting the hero’s rapid recovery. The Luminary gestured toward the Saiyan, his eyes burning with renewed resolve.
Kazap, the spell for holy lightning, a brilliant white and crackling with divine fury, erupted from the sky and slammed down directly onto Trunks. The Super Saiyan God screamed as the electric current surged through his divine aura. The holy energy fought against the red ki, creating a magnificent, deafening torrent of colliding forces.
Despite the intensity of the attack, Trunks remained standing, his crimson aura holding firm, though momentarily flickering. The pain was immense, sharper than the Gigasmash, but he refused to falter. He was reaching the climax of the spar, and he would not be stopped.
The Luminary was powerful, agile, and his magic was truly transcendent—but Trunks had one final contingency for fighters who relied on similarly powerful abilities. Trunks summoned his ultimate weapon: the Key Sword.
The blade, historically used to shatter dimensional rifts and slay ancient demonic adversaries like Mechikabura, shimmered with a deep, unsettling electric blue. It was not merely sharp; it was an artifact designed to disregard protections, bypass immortality, and cut through ki defenses as if they were mist.
Trunks rushed rapidly, the Key Sword held steady, aimed at the Luminary. He surged forth, a blur of red divine ki and blue arcane steel, intent on ending the spar with a single, conclusive strike. The Luminary met the charge head-on. He raised the Supreme Sword of Light high above his head, channeling every drop of his sacred energy, preparing the ultimate offensive technique, the Blade of Ultimate Power.
The Supreme Sword erupted with blinding, blue radiance. It was a strike of cosmic magnitude, intended to cleave through evil and light up the darkness. With simultaneous, desperate finality, the two combatants crossed paths. The clash was silent, swift, and absolute.
Trunks came to a halt several yards past the Luminary, his back to the hero, the Key Sword held loosely at his side. The Luminary remained standing, rigid, his Supreme Sword of Light still held in the finishing posture of the Blade of Ultimate Power. The silence of the desert floor settled heavily, broken only by the distant whistling of the hot wind. Neither man moved.
Then, slowly, the Luminary gasped, a ragged, choking sound. His eyes widened slightly in dawning disbelief. He tried to resist, but only a dry click emerged. The Supreme Sword of Light slipped from his numb fingers, falling point-first into the sand. The hero collapsed.
He crumpled into the hot sand, conscious, but utterly and completely defeated. The Key Sword had done its work, not by physical laceration, but by nullifying the complex web of magical and divine protections, leaving the hero’s life force open to taking the full force of the strike, a magnitude of power he could not withstand, even restored by Fullheal.
Trunks deactivated Super Saiyan God, the red aura instantly receding. He turned back, dismissing the Key Sword into thin air. He looked down at the panting, utterly defeated Prince of Dundrasil.
"Thank you."
Trunks said, his voice respectful and calm, free from any hint of malice or arrogance.
"That was truly an exceptional sparring session. You pushed me farther than I expected. Farewell."
With a nod of finality, and a shimmer of temporal magic, the Time Patroller vanished precisely as he had arrived to the Time Nest, leaving the Luminary alone in the scorched, silent heart of the Gallopolis desert to contemplate the terrifying precision of a Saiyan’s divine power.

Strength: This was truly an interesting match up. While it's difficult to gauge how strong these two are compared to each other, the kinds of threats they've gone up against do. Trunks was able to fight on par with Mechikabura, who was able to threaten the entire Xenoverse cosmology which has infinite timelines, and the Crack of Time. While Calysmo similary possesses a seemingly infinite amount of power, he was mainly a threat to the main Dragon Quest universe he occupied, with no indication that he was such a threat to destroy an entire multiverse all at once.
Speed: And unlike against when he went up against Silver, Xeno Trunks should possess the same immerserable speeds as the hedgehog, since Chronoa taught him how to fly through space-time directly in the Heroes continuity. And key word being flying, because... the Luminary himself can't fly, needing a 100 foot long winged whale to do so. And even then, it has never shown any any time swimming of any sort, so it would only serve as a flying, living target.
Skill: This is somewhat of a tie, as while the Luminary has more sword expertise, as Trunks has never shown to be taught more than swinging his sword around by an instructor, Trunks is more adept at hand to hand combat, and if the Saiyan ever managed to disarm his foe, that would deprive him any means of physically attacking.
Experience: While the Luminary has fought a wider variety of "cannon fodder" enemies, with only the most late game enemies posing as genuine threats, Trunks's journies has had him face against androids, demons, gods, demon gods, and Goku being soul swapped with a god, the weakest of which capable of destroying a solar system outright, something considered weak nowadays by the standards of Dragon Ball.
Powers: The Luminary does posess a wider variety of abilities, being able to attack with multiple elemental magics, including holy light, and healing spells to restore his health as much as a Senzu Bean. However, not only does he have a very limited repertoire of magic to pull from, meaning he has so many amount of times he can cast his most potent spells, but Trunks's Saiyan physiology will let him overpower any effects put on him, his speed would let him blitz any spells that he needed to dodge, and even his metal and vulnerability spell prevents him from acting while the spell is active, so it would merely delay the inevitable.
The winner is Trunks.
