Mikasa Ackerman is a 27-year-old woman who works tirelessly at a convenience store to cover the debts accumulated after the death of her parents while caring for her younger brother, 12-year-old Asher. Life has not been easy for the siblings, but Mikasa always puts her brother's welfare above all else. Exhausted by the daily routine, worries, and responsibilities, Mikasa decides, after much thought, to go out for a night of fun, as advised by her best friend and co-worker, Sasha Braus.
At that party, Mikasa meets Eren Jaeger, a 20-year-old college student known for his laid-back and carefree attitude towards life, especially when it comes to his medical studies. Despite his laid-back nature, Eren has been labeled as a bad student, preferring to live in the moment and enjoy life rather than focus on his studies.
Although Mikasa is not entirely comfortable with the idea that Eren is seven years younger than her, she decides not to make a big deal out of it, believing that they will probably never see each other again. However, life has other plans for both of them.
