Work Text:
When Russell got home, the apartment was silent and he did not see Harry.
It was a bit odd, but he also understood that Harry had his own life outside of their relationship and home. He was probably just out with friends.
Content with this explanation, Russell got himself a glass of water and went to his desk to work on his newest assignment.
After a while, he had to pee, so he got up, went to the bathroom door, and opened it.
Then, his world came crashing down around him.
Lying still on the floor was Harry. Blood was pooled on the floor under his hands, the source being deep gashes in his wrists.
In shock, Russell checked the man's breath, but felt nothing.
His boyfriend was gone.
Overwhelmed, bile quickly rose up his throat and he just barely stepped over the body in time to throw up.
Once his stomach was empty, something else caught his eye. Folded on the edge of the sink was a piece of paper. Upon opening it, he was greeted by his boyfriend's final words.
With that, tears finally began to pour.
