Comment on Bloom Within Us

  1. That was a devastating nightmare to start with, particularly because all the parts were true. Kyo will always have to live with that guilt, but I hope it becomes less painful over time. It's good to see how many people are worried about him and trying to help. I appreciated Haru's practical advice due to helping Rin. I feel like Rin could be a great support because she can understand Kyo in a way the others can't (even though she still has Haru and has always been able to hold him, which Kyo will find really difficult). I like how well you show the individual personalities when people stopped by. I knew exactly who was saying each and every line. I really like the way Kyo is getting closer to Saki. She knows what Tohru wanted and is dealing with her own loneliness. She is a lot like Tohru and Kyoko, which is something I hadn't realized. I was surprised Kyo decided to tell her about the curse at the end, but I think it will really help him. She accepts the supernatural and knows what it's like to be viewed as a monster due to factors outside of your control. And she'll be happy Tohru's wish came true while understanding the tragedy of Tohru not being there to see it. I do hope Kyo comes out of his depression enough to notice how much Saki is silently suffering. He's observant enough for this once he opens up to her. I have a feeling she's also struggling with Arisa being in a relationship, possibly due to having feelings for her (based on your additional tags). She needs a chance to face her grief without guilt, and I think Kyo could provide that for her.

I'm so glad you liked Haru's advice, the way characters' personalities came out when they stopped by, and how Saki and Kyo's friendship is developing. Beyond that, it's so hard for me to not spoil the upcoming chapters in this reply!! I'll just say... I'm so excited for you to read them!
