Hey! Thanks for commenting. I think there are signs of her being traumatized in the books but you're right she doesn't really explore it in any depth. Part of that is consistent with Aelin's personality, she wants to project a strong image, she locks all those thoughts into the back of her mind and tries to trap them there and not think about them. I think that's not an uncommon way to deal with trauma when you're still in an unsafe situation. I was thinking that things might start to shift as she started to internalize feeling safe. She is back in her childhood home which was always associated with safety and love, and her enemies are vanquished for good. For the first time in 11 years she is no longer unsafe and I think some of those walls might start to come down as she relaxes. I don't know. I'm no expert. I'm just guessing!
