Deflection on her part is somewhat frustrating. It matters little that Cyn was the one to wish for a war when Tessa was the one to act upon it. I acknowledge Cyn’s manipulation and the majority of the blame ultimately lies upon her, but Tessa’s role cannot be dismissed because of that. She was willingly the hand enforcing the will of the mind behind this conflict. The question now is whether Tessa shall continue to pin everything upon Cyn and ignore the part she played, or if she will come to accept that she is not completely blameless. My hope is the latter, though if written well both could work.

Yeah, it feels like she’s trying to wash away her part in it all. Tessa had control over everything as the regent, Cyn was just an advisor, a manipulative one, but still only an advisor. Tessa was still the one in charge.
I suspect that the idea of her slowly coming to finally accept her part in the war and grow from this mistake is being set up as an arc for her character. Then again, I could be wrong. The only way to tell is to wait and see I suppose.
