I don't mean to be condescending, but did you read chapter 9? The drones and the humans are actually working together against the Solver in that chapter, even if they do die horribly. I actually also dislike 'humanity bad' stories, which is why I could never really get into The Dragon Prince. Honestly I dislike any 'x is entirely bad' stories because no living beings are a monolith, especially not humanity. Studying for evolutionary genetics has really reinforced that, learning about how early humans cared for each other even when it was detrimental to the group's survival. The earliest sign of civilization is a healed femur. Humans are good, and if we pack bond with roombas, there is no way something as cute as drones would have been excluded from care by anything but the heartless elites. Anyways, to get off that tangent, HER is from a humanity that has been hunted down and devoured by the Solver. She has a reason to hate drones and treat them terribly, and I love inflicting soul-crushing trauma upon my favorite characters. It just so happens that HER had a very bad response to her own soul-crushing trauma.
Humans have played/will play a part in this story, and not the one that you're thinking.
TLDR: I also dislike 'humans bad' stories. I will never write one because I believe in the good of humanity. This is not a 'humans bad' story.
