    Gale is SO coflicted about everything. Damn buddy, make up your mind sometimes? I adore the way you write him. The strained relationships he has with others now, being kind of angry that Haymitch is closer to Katniss despite not wanting to get close to him himself, all the Ena stuff + the conversations with Johanna and Finnick.

    + I love Johanna asking after Haymitch, like yes, I need more of those two's interactions together.

      I wanted avoid writing him as the perfect asshole, so I'm happy that you landed on conflicted. I think Johanna is right: he really would need someone to teach him whats right and whats wrong, and Haymitch and the other Victors would be good for that.

      I know they are all killers, so this sounds bad, but like 99% of them didn't do it by choice, and are good people. So, its so sad that he wants to ignore them, whatever it takes.

      I know in tehory he has Hazelle as a parent, and she canonicly dealt with Gale's dad's death better than Asterid did with Burdock's, but still. Hazelle is kind, but I wrote her in a way that she sees Gale as the head of the household on purpose. She does advise hin on occasion, like when she told him that winning the Game is no glory, but its just not enough. And he in turn is just unable to open up to her.
      That's the main problem: I don't know if he would be able to open up to anyone at this point. The only reason he even talked to Finnick was because he was drunk.

        I hope for his own sake that Gale manages to at least open up a little to someone, be it Haymitch or any other victor, it's something he really needs.

          I have several ideas where this situation can go for Gale: actually I have a few people in mind for options in case he is willing to open up. We will see...
