    This chapter was so, so sweet! That doodle at the end really summed up poor Techie in the shower perfectly. Mitaka really had his job cut out for him! It's clear that Techie has been subjected to a ton of abuse- and the mention of it being mostly on his front so Ma-Ma could see him suffer was just heart-wrenching. I really did want Mitaka to wrap him up in a big hug.

    Something tells me that Techie is going to be obsessed with watching that video of Ma-Ma's death. He is probably seeing it on loop inside his head even when it's not playing. Hopefully it brings him some comfort, even if it is a bit morbid. Mitaka not mentioning it in his report really shows that he's in his corner. Fingers crossed that keeping things too focused on the facts doesn't bite him in the ass later.

    OMG that reaction when Mitaka receives Hux's reply during the same shift. What a universal feeling. He's just so over the moon, I love it! I also adore that Mitaka is kind of mimicking Hux's mannerisms when he's more stern with Techie- the 'Very good' he uses to praise Techie and the 'Very good' Hux in turn uses to praise Mitaka. I'm looking forward to seeing if Mitaka keeps up with being more stern or actually gives Techie the hug he so desperately needs.

      You know, I hadn't even noticed that I used "Very good" in several places, but I totally did. I think you're right that Mitaka is unconsciously mimicking Hux's mannerisms here. This is an example of how culture often comes from the top and flows down, haha!

      I headcanon Hux as a strict but fair boss who values efficiency and efficacy above all else -- unlike Kylo Ren, who has big messy emotions all over the place and does things out of Honor and other dumb ideas like that, haha. Hux doesn't have time for Honor -- he's busy actually getting things done.

      ANYWAY, that was a tangent! I'm glad the shower scene was just as pathetic and sad as I was intending. Poor Techie, indeed. Have you ever seen those videos of someone washing a street cat and literally thousands of mites and fleas, or whatever, are getting pulled out of their fur? This was like that. I made myself sad!

      Mitaka is soooo gone on General Hux. Getting a reply from him -- the same shift, even -- has completely made his week. <3
