Expectations. — DISCONTINUED

Summary:

"I don't know what you expected me to do!"

"I expected you to not stand idly, that's what i expected!"

OR: Asmodeus and Fizzarolli argue for the first time since they started dating over Asmodeus' behavior at the trial.

Notes:

i need to see them argue, they're too happy to be real.

there's a lot of overthinking, self-deprecating talk, and sexual innuendos in this, if this stuff makes you uncomfortable, you've been warned!

"What the fuck was that, Ozz?!"

Those were the first words out of Fizzarolli's mouth when the sin stepped trough the door of their penthouse.

"What're you talking about?" Questioned Asmodeus as he looked down at the imp in front of him in confusion and walked past him to get to their room.

"The trial! is that really all you can do?!" Fizz started following around Ozz, his indignation growing at the way Asmodeus didn't even look at him while leaving his coat and hat in their room. "They were about to kill my best friend, Ozzie! You're a fucking sin, couldn't you simply disprove the ice bitch's claims?! You know Blitzø, you know they were wrong, why didn't you try to stop them, uh?!"

"The sentence had been established, did you want me to singlehandedly change the entire Ars Goetia's mind or something?"  Asmodeus' voice held a noticeable undertone of anger, how could he change the whole court's mind by testifying for an absent royal he didn't even like? He did what he could, he stood by Blitzø when he could and he failed. That was about it, wasn't it? What else could someone expect!

"You make it sound as if you were a random butler. YOU'RE THE ASMODEUS and you're tryna tell me they would've believed a random Ars Goetia over YOU? you gotta be joking." 

"Oh, please! Satan already had his mind set! I'm nothing to Satan, we're all nothing to Satan, he's Lucifer's guard dog! Whatever i said would've just flied over his head. You saw him, didn't you?" At that point, Asmodeus finally turned around to face Fizz. He may have been upset, but his eyes held a ton of worry. He was worried for Blitzø, he wanted him to be saved, but what could he do without losing his status? It's nearly impossible to talk back to Satan when his mind is set, not without facing consequences.

"So you just decided to give up?"

"What option did i have?!"

"The option to stand up, Asmodeus. like you did with Mammon."

"That's different!"

"How?!"

"Mammon is all bark no bite, he's not Lucifer's well-trained guard dog. Satan is in charge of almost all laws put in place in Hell. He's ruthless. I didn't wanna end up hurt!"

"So you're a coward!"

"Basic self preservation is being a coward now?!"

"Yes! Well, no, but you weren't the one about to be beheaded!"

"Well i was just as scared! I understand that you were terrified, but nothing bad happened in the end! I don't know what you expected me to do!"

"I expected you to not stand idly, that's what i expected! If Stolas hadn't stepped in, what would've happened? Who would've stopped them?"

"Someone in the position to do so, and i wasn't, Fizz!"

"Oh, yes you were, Asmodeus! You have nothing holding you back!"

"WHAT DO YOU KNOW? HOW DO YOU KNOW NOTHING WAS HOLDING ME BACK?"

"CAUSE YOU'RE A SIN, ASMODEUS. YOU HAVE ALL THE PROTECTION IN THE WORLD! CAN'T I JUST BE WORRIED ABOUT THE MAN WHO ACTUALLY NEEDS IT?"

"IF YOU'RE THAT WORRIED ABOUT BLITZØ, WHY DON'T YOU FUCK HIM INSTEAD?!"

"I'm leaving."

"No, Fizz, wait-.."

It was too late. Fizz had already grabbed a small bag with essentials and stormed out the door. Maybe it was better off this way. They both needed at least a couple hours to think it trough if they wanted to really fix this.

i read this back and i absolutely hate it 😭

plus, i’m slowly losing interest completely in Helluva Boss, which means i’m also losing interest in this fanfic.

i doubt i’ll update it, if my interest for Helluva comes back i might rewrite it, but don’t take my word for it cause it’s unlikely, i’m so sorry for those who hoped for more chapters :c
