Chapter 1: Picking Up Where We Left Off
Summary:
~~~Prologue~~~
Spider-Man and Deadpool meet 2 years after their first meeting. Deadpool has come back to Manhattan on a contract to assassinate one of New York's well-known men.
Notes:
Omg first chapter is a prologue... If you don't like it, I beg of your forgiveness
Chapter Text
They were chasing the man down the streets of Manhattan, he had just shot the editor of the most famous newspaper in New York. People were furious and going crazy over this, so it was up to Spider-Man and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team to capture him. They chased the man down an alleyway and had him cornered.
“Who are you?” White Tiger asked, as it was hard for them to see in the dark, “And why did you kill Jameson?”
Nova gasped as the man turned around and faced the dim light. He had a red and black suit on with a belt and a mask on with two tiny slits covered in white for his eyes to see. He had what seemed like two katanas attached to his back and all his other weapons were on his belt. His hands were on his hips and you could see him smiling through his mask.
“Deadpool!” Spider-Man exclaimed, shocked.
“Spider-babe! Nice to see that sweet ass again!” Deadpool replied enthusiastically.
Power Man snapped, “Answer her question! Why did you kill him?”
“How else am I going to pay for all this awesomeness?” Deadpool ran his finger up and down his body, “Besides, nobody really liked him anyway,” he put his finger on his mouth and his other hand on his hip and pouted teasingly.
“Anyway, I have to get going. Taco Bell closes soon and I need my chimichangas. Toodle-loo!”
Deadpool ran straight at them which took everyone by surprise. They quickly moved out of the way. Deadpool kept running out of the alleyway and into the darkness.
“Come on guys, we can’t let him get away like that!” Spider-Man shouted.
He turned and started running in the direction Deadpool had run in with everyone else following him, but it was too late, they couldn’t see him anywhere.
Chapter 2: God Damn Chimichangas!
Summary:
The team reports to Nick Fury and get in trouble. They are forced to find Deadpool. Spider-Man tries to track him down...
Notes:
Here's the second chapter. I hope you liked the first one. I'm slowly progressing the story so the first few chapters are basically the introduction.
Chapter Text
The team reported back to Nick Fury the next day. Iron Fist told him how they had chased the killer and that it turned out to be Deadpool. He also told Fury how Deadpool had escaped, which made Fury (no pun intended) furious.
“Oh, that good for nothing Merc-with-a-mouth!” Fury shrieked, “We gave him a chance with the X-men, but he declined. And now he’s killin’ for a livin’!”
S.H.I.E.L.D. had even given him a chance to be in the S.H.I.E.L.D. team, and he actually was a member for a while, until he quit because he wasn’t allowed to actually kill the criminals.
Nova was starting to turn around when Fury stopped him.
“Oh no, you guys aren’t done. Thanks to you we lost the biggest criminal in New York, so you are going to help us find him. I want you to bring him back to me this time, understood?”
“Yes, Fury…” they mumbled.
At home, Peter (aka Spider-Man) was already working on Deadpool’s case. He had not told his team or Fury this but when Deadpool ran past them in the alleyway, Peter had been quick to react. He took a barely noticeable tracking device, the size of a penny, from the watch S.H.I.E.L.D. had given him and he had softly stuck it on the back of Deadpool’s mask. Peter grinned while remembering this and quickly started typing away at his computer again, trying to find the coordinates to where Deadpool was last. It took him a while, but finally he was able to come up with something, so he didn’t waste any time. Peter threw on his suit and his mask and was out that door before Aunt May could ask him what he wanted for dinner.
Spider-Man was walking down the streets of Manhattan towards the coordinates of what he hoped to be was Deadpool’s location. He was getting closer as his watch started beeping more rapidly. He had just walked passed the alleyway he last saw Deadpool in when he noticed a Taco Bell sign straight ahead.
I bet he’s there! I got you, Deadpool! he thought to himself.
Spider-Man started running in the direction of the fast food chain restaurant as his watch started beeping louder and faster. He ran inside and opened the door, quickly scanning the room for a red and black suit, but there was no sign of Deadpool. He briskly went back and forth from person to person, asking them if they had seen a man in a red and black suit with katanas. Most of them said no, others had told him that they had seen Deadpool here often but not today.
Spider-Man was disappointed. He had checked the bathrooms and had questioned the staff, but his watch was still beeping. He exited the building and started walking away when his watch suddenly gave off a piercing signal. He hurriedly looked all around, still no sign of Deadpool. He noticed that he was standing next to a public trash can. He started moving closer to it, his watch still beeping.
He looked inside and instantly spotted the tracking device on top of a leftover chimichanga with a note attached to it that read, “Not today, Spider-babe, not today…”
Chapter 3: Trouble at School
Summary:
Rumors fly pretty fast, and that's the case at Peter school...
Is it going to be like this for the rest of the school year?
Notes:
Omg, here's the 3rd chapter... almost 200 hits already? wow... thx for the 9 kudos too... Hope you enjoy the rest...
Chapter Text
“Dude, is it really true? Did you really lose him?” Harry asked Peter.
They were walking, side by side, into their high school. As soon as they entered, heads started turning. It was the first day of school after Summer break and more than half the school had heard what had happened by now. They knew about Peter secretly being Spider-Man and they had recently learnt about the whole Deadpool and Jameson situation. This was a great way for Peter to start Senior year.
“Yes, I did. But I was so close!” Peter complained.
“That’s too bad. I still can’t believe Jameson’s gone, though..”
Peter nodded his head in silence as they walked down the hallway to their lockers. But as they came near Peter’s locker, they noticed someone at it already. He was wearing a dark grey sweatshirt with the hood covering half of his face and his combat boots were a little dirty. He seemed to be fiddling with the lock.
“Hey! That’s my locker!” Peter yelled.
The man instantly turned away from Peter and Harry and ran down the hallway and out the double doors.
“Well, that was weird,” Harry exclaimed.
“Yes, yes it was,” Peter agreed.
Just as they approached his locker, Flash Thompson approached them.
“Um, h-h-hey Peter,” he stammered.
“Uh, hey Flash,” Peter spoke, confused.
“Hey, I just… I just wanted to say that I was, you know, sorry,” Flash looked away, blushing.
“Oh, well, it’s ok,” Peter said, still confused.
All three of them stood there awkwardly for a while until Harry broke the silence.
“Uh, Peter and I should be getting to our classes,” he said.
“Oh right, yeah. Um, bye Flash.”
Peter sat at his desk next to his partner in his Chemistry class with everyone looking at him as if he was some kind of alien from another world. Peter turned around to face them and they all immediately looked away, even his partner. Then the teacher came into the classroom right as the first bell had rang. School has officially just begun. This was going to be a slow year.
All throughout the day, Peter kept getting weird stares from people. Even Mary Jane treated him a little differently. Harry was the only one that hadn’t changed his thoughts about Peter, and that made Peter realize what a true friend he actually was.
After school, Peter was with Ava, Danny, Luke, Sam (his S.H.I.E.L.D. team) and Harry.
“Man, I would hate to be in your place right now, Spidey!” Sam announced.
“I don’t think you’re helping,” Danny advised.
“Sorry, but you can’t mess up now!” Sam added.
“Zip it, Buckethead!” Ava warned.
“Sam, where did you even get that nickname from?” Harry asked.
Harry didn’t know the identities of the team and neither did anybody else other than Peter and S.H.I.E.L.D. Peter was jealous about that, life was so much easier as a superhero when people didn't know who you were.
“Oh, I don’t really know, Peter just called me that one day and it’s stuck ever since,” Sam explained, “which I don’t like by the way!”
Everyone just laughed and soon, they all headed home.
Aunt May was cooking in the kitchen, when Peter got back home from school.
“Hi Peter! How was your first day of school?” she called out.
Peter dropped his backpack on the floor, and walked into the kitchen.
“Strange,” he murmured.
He didn’t like to keep things from his Aunt. Well, not anymore.
“Why strange?”
“‘Cause everybody in school’s acting weird when they see me. It’s ‘cause they all know I’m the “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” now.”
“Ah, I see,” Aunt May replied sympathetically.
“Like, Harry still treats me the same, but Mary Jane doesn’t even make eye-contact with me anymore when she talks to me.” Peter complained.
“Well, Petey, life always gonna be hard. But I know you. You have dealt with things way more difficult than this. You can easily get through this. Just make them realize that while you are Spider-Man, you can also be just Peter Parker.”
“Thank you, Aunt May.”
Aunt May smiled and got back to cooking while Peter took an apple from the fruit bowl and started eating.
“So, Senior year, huh?” Aunt May said.
“Yep,”
“No more high school!”
“Yep, no more high school,”
“So, have you thought of any colleges?”
“Um, no. I’m probably going to continue my education and training at the S.H.I.E.L.D. academy after school's over,”
“Oh, ok.”
“I mean, if that’s fine with you,”
“Of course it’s fine with me. Peter, I just want you to do whatever you want to do, ok?”
“Ok, thanks.”
“But remember-”
Peter cut her off and recited the words his Uncle Ben once told him, “With great power comes great responsibility.”
Chapter 4: Nighttime Visitor
Summary:
Remember the guy that tried to break into Peter's locker? Yeah...
Notes:
At this point, I have no idea were this is going... sorry...
(Also I update this chapter a bit, so if you have already read it before, it wouldn't hurt to read it again.)
Chapter Text
Peter had just finished dinner and was getting ready for bed when he remembered the weird incident at school today. The guy wearing the dark grey sweatshirt with the hood covering his face had fiddled with his locker and when Peter had opened it, he had found a note sitting on one of the shelves.
“Open it,” Harry had pleaded.
“Later,” Peter mumbled.
That “later” was now. Peter took the piece of paper from his pocket and started reading it. It said, “Peter, what a beautiful name. Almost as beautiful as baby boy or Spider-babe, eh? You might already know who this is, so you should also know who my next victim is…”
Deadpool! Peter thought, Am I really going to be his next victim? I hope not, I should maybe warn S.H.I.E.L.D.
Peter walked out of his bathroom and into his room, to find the mercenary lying down seductively on his bed.
“Oh my god, Deadpool!” Peter almost screamed but remembered Aunt May downstairs, “Look if you’re here to kill me, you-”
“Oh, poor Petey Parker! You actually fell for it! With your big science brain and arachnid powers!” Deadpool laughed. He stopped as soon as he noticed that Peter wasn’t laughing and was standing in front of him with his arms crossed, obviously angry.
“Aw, come on Spider-babe! That was a good one!” Deadpool complained, “Though you are younger, and prettier, than I thought you would be!”
“Um, Deadpool I think you should go now. But how did you know-”
“I did my research, baby boy!”
“Well, since you were only here to “prank” me, I think you-”
Peter was cut off again by Deadpool.
Deadpool pleaded, “Petey, don’t banish me from you bedroom yet! Does your big science brain really think that the only reason I’m here was to prank you? Geez!”
“Wait, what? I don’t understand,”
“Of course you don’t! I haven’t explained anything yet!” Deadpool snickered.
He got up from Peter’s bed and stood in front of him. Deadpool snatched the paper from Peter’s hand, crumpled it up, and threw it into a nearby trash can.
“I been Steph Curry with the shot. Been cookin’ with the sauce, chef, curry with the pot, boy!”
Deadpool scratched his mask, “Woops, I got a little off track there - squirrel!”
Peter was starting to a get a little more impatient, “Deadpool, I-”
“Ok, ok, I’ll tell you now!”
Finally! Peter thought.
“So, first of all, that paper thing was not entirely a joke,”
“What?!”
“Wait wait wait! I am not going to kill you… yet!”
“Deadpool! ”
“Sorry! Geez! However, I do have a new victim,”
“But what do I have to do with all of this?!” Peter screamed, frustrated.
“Peter? Is everything alright? Should I come upstairs?” Aunt May had heard all the commotion.
“Uh, no! Everything’s fine! Stay downstairs! Just… just um… on the phone with Harry!” Peter lied.
“Ok, don’t be too loud!”
“Yes, Aunt May. I’ll try to keep it down!” Peter glared at Deadpool.
Deadpool just put his hands on his hips, grinning under his mask, “Now, where were we?” he asked politely.
“Ah yes! The part where I tell you that you have to help me kill someone, baby-boy!”
“What?!”
“Peter!”
“Sorry, Aunt May.”
Chapter 5: The Next Victim
Summary:
Deadpool wants Spider-Man to help him kill his new victim, but Spider-Man doesn't want to be framed. He wanted to warn S.H.I.E.L.D. but he doesn't even know who the victim is. For all he knows, it could be him...
Notes:
*(Before you read this chapter and you have already read the rest, I have made a slight change to chapter 4. It's not that big of a change, infact it's only one sentence, but it wouldn't hurt to read the chapter again! thx)*
Ok, maybe now I have a sense of the story's direction! OMG I don't know if you guys like it, but I think this is coming along pretty well for a first time fan fiction! Thanks for all the support so far! And without further ado, chapter 5!
Chapter Text
Peter had suited up and had taken the argument with Deadpool outside so he wouldn’t bother Aunt May anymore.
“So, are you in or not, Spider-babe? Dat ass doe!” Deadpool exclaimed with his hands on his face, gawking at Spider-Man’s rear end.
Spider-Man turned around and pointed at him.
“Stop that!” He didn’t like it when Deadpool flirted with him.
“Hey, I was only trying to be nice!”
“Well, stop trying!”
“Then I guess no chimichangas Friday night at 6?”
“No!”
“Fine! But are you in or not… Spider-babe?”
Spider-Man growled, “Arrrrrrrrrrgh! No, I am not in! I don’t want to be held responsible for a murder!”
“You won’t be held responsible at all!”
“How can I know for sure you won’t betray me and get me caught for doing your crime?”
“Baby-boy, trust me!”
“No!”
Spider-Man turned around to leave but Deadpool caught hold of his hand.
“Deadpool, let go of me!”
“Aw, stop whining like my ex-wife when we had-”
“Deadpool, stop!”
“No, Spider-babe listen to me!”
“Wade!”
Deadpool froze. He hadn’t heard his actual name in a long time. He let go of Spider-Man’s hand, “What?”
“Wade Wilson! I, Peter Parker, will not help you commit a murder!”
Peter took of his mask, turned around, and headed for the door of his house. He looked back at Deadpool, who still stood there in the middle of the road.
“If you don’t leave, I am calling S.H.I.E.L.D.”
Deadpool didn’t move.
“Fine, if that’s how you want to be taken in!” Peter went inside and closed the door.
He started climbing up the stairs to his bedroom. Lucky for him, Aunt May was already fast asleep, so there would be no Parker-to-Parker interrogation today. He started undressing and getting ready for bed, again. He was about to reach for his watch and contact S.H.I.E.L.D. when he noticed a red figure behind his curtain.
Oh no! he thought to himself, Not him again!
But yes, it was him again. Peter peeked outside the window from behind the curtains. He immediately regretted it.
Deadpool was sitting on the ledge of Peter’s window. He had his arms crossed and one of his legs was dangling off the ledge. He seemed to be whistling something by Juice Newton.
What does he want now? Peter thought, I told him I wasn’t going to help him!
Peter snatched his watch from his desk and slightly opened his bedroom window. Immediately, Deadpool turned to look at Peter and waved frantically which made him fall. He fell right into Aunt May’s bed of roses.
“Motherfucker!” Deadpool yelled from below.
Peter opened his window and leaned over to look at Deadpool. He couldn’t help but laugh a little. Besides, the thorns’ marks would probably heal up in a matter of seconds!
Deadpool started removing thorns from his body, one by one.
“Shit. Fuck. Shit fuck!”
Peter was now laughing hysterically. He kept laughing until Deadpool climbed back up onto the window ledge.
“It wasn’t that funny!”
“Yes it was!”
“No it wasn’t!”
“Yes it was!”
Peter just started laughing harder. Deadpool waited for him to calm down. Peter started to relax, he had to use napkins to wipe the tears from his eyes. He clutched his stomach, groaning at the pain all that laughing had caused him.
“Ha ha!” teased Deadpool.
“I’m still calling S.H.I.E.L.D. you know!” Peter reminded, waving his watch in front of him.
Deadpool immediately flicked the watch into the air and let it fall onto the ground he had just climbed back up from. The watch was destroyed instantly.
“Deadpool!”
“Ah, fuck buddy. What you gonna do now?”
Before Peter could react to what he had just said, Deadpool jumped. This time he landed gracefully in front of the rose bush. He started running away.
Peter was angry. This was the second time he lost Deadpool, and it was due to his own mistakes. He had to be more careful next time, if there even was a next time.
He was about to close his window when he noticed some writing on his window ledge, which had never been there before. Deadpool had left him yet another note. This time it read, “New Victim - Jameson”. Peter was perplexed.
“What does that even mean?!” he shrieked.
“Peter! Do you even know what time it is? Get off the phone with Henry!”
“I’m sorry Aunt May, I’ll go to bed now! Good night.”
Chapter 6: Dead or Alive
Summary:
Deadpool left on a cliffhanger... What did he mean when he said Jameson? Peter had to warn S.H.I.E.L.D.
Notes:
I am trying to create a plot twist, and I'm really sorry if you don't like it, but this the direction my brain told me to go, and it IS my story anyway. Thanks for the 20 kudos! <3
Chapter Text
Peter couldn’t sleep. There was only one thing keeping him awake, and that happened to be a situation involving two people he hated, Deadpool and Jameson. He could still hear Jameson’s booming voice in the back of his head, memories from when he saw him on screens on buildings all around the city. He would be swinging from building to building and he would sometimes notice the videos playing here and there. One time, he got so angry that he forgot what he was doing and fell for a long period of time before shooting one of his webs out to save himself from his near death.
“Citizens of New York! This is J. Jonah Jameson… Spider-Man is a menace! He is dangerous and should be feared…! ”
Ew! Peter just hated thinking about him. But did he even exist anymore for Peter to think about him? Or was this all just another one of Deadpool’s “pranks”? Peter had no idea, and honestly, he wanted to forget about it and not think of it at all. Unfortunately, that voice at the back of his head wouldn’t go away, which kept Peter wondering whether Jameson was really dead, or still alive...
It was four in the morning, and Peter still wasn’t asleep. So he decided to suit up and go warn S.H.I.E.L.D. He snuck out of the house, trying his hardest not wake Aunt May. The poor woman had been disturbed three times now by Peter, or Deadpool! There was no way Peter wanted to disrupt his aunt’s sleep anymore.
He entered the Helicarrier fifteen minutes later, and immediately went to go find Fury. He didn’t care if Fury was sleeping, he just wanted to get this off of his chest and go back to sleep. Everyone was looking at him with curiosity since members of S.H.I.E.L.D. usually didn’t arrive this early in the morning unless they were already inside the Helicarrier.
Fortunately, when Spider-Man knocked on Fury’s door, Fury was still awake and coincidentally working on Deadpool’s case. Fury was shocked to be greeted by Spider-Man at the door.
“Peter, what the hell are you doing here?! It’s 4 in the morning!” he yelled.
“I know that! But I sorta have an update to the Deadpool case…”
“Spill!” Fury ordered.
So they sat opposite each other in one of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s conference rooms and Spider-Man explained everything that had happened between himself and Deadpool, from the chimichanga note to the writing on Peter’s window ledge. Fury just sat, listening and taking everything in. Once he was done, Spider-Man just glanced at Fury, who was deeply in thought. Finally, Fury spoke.
“Thank you, Spider-Man, for informing me right away,”
“Yep, no problem, Fury!”
“But, we still have to figure out what he meant when he wrote ‘Jameson’,”
“Yes, I was thinking about that… There’s so many different possibilities to what that might mean… We just have to narrow it all done to one…” Spider-Man let out with a yawn.
“Yes, that is true… But right now Peter, you need sleep. Report to me after school, and bring the rest of the team as well.” Fury commanded.
“Oh right! School...” Spider-Man yawned again, dreading the idea of waking up again for school. He started walking out of the room just as Fury thanked him again and said ‘Good night’, but it was technically a ‘Good morning’. Spider-Man exited the Helicarrier and made his way back to his house.
Peter took off his mask and walked down the street to his house. He climbed up the wall and was outside his window, trying to make the least sound possible while opening the window and stepping inside. He then turned back around and closed the it. The lights were off, so Peter could hardly see. He regretted not thinking about leaving them on right as he tripped over what felt like a book and knocked over his desk while trying to brace his fall. The desk, with everything one it, came crashing down on the floor, making a loud 'Thud!'.
“Oh my god, Peter! What in the world are you doing! It’s almost 5! Go to freakin’ bed already!”
“Oh my gosh I’m so sorry Aunt May it was an accident!” he blurted out, “Good night!”
“Oh, just go to sleep already…”
Now Peter only had approximately an hour of sleep left until his alarm clock woke him up for school! Sometimes, Peter concluded, it sucked having super-strength, and super-hearing, or being a superhero at all.
Notes:
For those of you who wonder why I keep switching off between the terms "Peter" and "Spider-Man", here's my explanation:
Peter= When not dressed as Spider-Man, regular and normal
Spider-Man= When suited up in Spider-Man costume and doing superhero stuffAlso, I hope the whole disturbing Aunt May thing for the past 3 chapters wasn't too annoying, I promise you, I have left that poor woman alone... :-)
Chapter 7: Do or Die
Summary:
We switch over to Deadpool's side now and see what he meant by "Jameson" and why he never did what everyone thought he did...
Notes:
I tried to make this chapter the best I could and I finally know the exact plot wanna follow so i know where this is going... However, if you guys have any suggestions and your comment persuades me, i might just add it in there.
Chapter Text
The room was dark and quiet. There were no windows, just a door that opened up to a flight of stairs. There was only one light source, a candle on a table in the middle of the room. There were two chairs on opposite sides of the table, both occupied by two different men. One of them had his hands and legs tied to his chair with what seemed like rope. His mouth was taped shut with duct tape and his was face was covered with a dark cloth bag. His was fidgeting, squirming around in the chair, trying to escape. The other man just looked at him and laughed at the muffled screams he heard from him. Finally, the bag and tape were removed.
“Who are you?! What do you want from me?!”
“You don’t know who I am? What in the ass?! How fuckin' long is it gonna take till someone this fuckin' awesome is recognized? Fuck!”
Jameson stared in shock as Deadpool removed his mask to reveal his scarred and damaged face. His smile stretched from ear to ear, revealing slightly yellowed teeth.
“You… you… you… what kind of creature are you?!”
“Oh no-no-no-no-no! That’s where you’re wrong! You see, I’m still a human being, but things went bad, I got fucked up, and now I look like this! Pretty sexy, amiright?!”
“Wha-what is wrong with you?! Why am I even here?!”
“Oh, right! I was hired by someone to kill you for like, 5 million smackers!" Deadpool declared, then he scoffed, "I know right? For you?! That’s fuckin' crazy!"
“What?!”
“Wait! I haven’t finished yet, rude! So anyway, I was just about to put a couple bullets through your melon, when I got a call on my super awesome phone. Apparently , that someone I told you about, yeah, he rang me up last second and told me not to shoot!” Deadpool put his hands on his face with his mouth and eyes wide open in horror.
“I was all like, ‘Dude, what the fuck,’ and he was like, ‘I know dude, but it’s important,’ and he told me that he would still pay me the 5 mil’ so I was in! But I was seriously lookin’ forward to shootin’ you straight through your noggin’! Now Deadpool upset!” he whined like a toddler as he put on a pouty face while slouching and crossing his arms.
“What does he want from me? Is it money? I can pay right now, God dammit!” Jameson suggested.
“Ehhhh!” Deadpool screeched while making an X with his arms, “Wrong answer!”
“Then what?! Who the hell is he, anyway?!” Jameson’s patience with Deadpool was really starting to fade. He needed answers.
"First, he don't wan' none yo' money! Second, he wishes to remain anonymous,” Deadpool explained.
“What? That’s not fair! I have the right to know what I’m involved in!”
“Fine, here’s the basic rundown, (sheesh)! The whole world thinks you’re dead, ‘cause I “assassinated” you. S.H.I.E.L.D. is actually working on our case as we speak.”
Jameson seemed relieved to hear that last part. Even though he hated Spider-Man, he knew he wouldn’t let him die!
“Straight up, wait up, hold up, Mr. Lover!” Deadpool sang, “Hold your fuckin’ horses! Nothing comes the easy! And I mean nothing comes that easy!” he chuckled at his own joke.
“Well, what do I have to do?!” Jameson asked, “And I don’t even know who the hell you are!”
“Oh, woops!” Deadpool said as he realized he had indeed forgotten to introduce himself, “Pool, Dead.” he extended his arm to shake Jameson and then laughed, “Woops, forgot you were tied up! By me!”
“Oh, Deadpool! I’ve heard about you before, you mercenary freak!”
Deadpool put his mask back on and started sharpening his katanas quietly. He stopped and acted as if he had heard something.
“What was that? I should kill Jameson and escape?!” he looked back at Jameson.
“I didn’t mean it, I swear!”
“Sorry, the boxes…”
“I’ll do anything!”
“I’m kidding! That’s not what they really said...”
Jameson let out a loud sigh. Deadpool looked up at him again, looking more serious than ever.
“You need to help him kill someone,” Deadpool blurted out.
“What?!” Jameson shrieked.
“I know right?! You’re so fuckin' lucky!” Deadpool complained.
“What?! Why does he want me to kill someone?! I’m innocent!”
“That’s what they all say, before their first kill.”
“But why me?!”
“‘Cause he knows you’ll kill the guy!”
“How?!”
“Either that, or he kills you!”
“What?! Who do I even have to kill?”
“The guy’s name is...”
“His name is what?!”
“Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!”
Chapter 8: Warnings
Summary:
Spider-Man is still unsure of Deadpool's plans or his location for that matter, so Peter warns two special people about the anti-hero.
Notes:
Sorry this chapter is a little late. It was heard to write this one, a little complicated because it was more of a transition chapter. I think the next few ones will be like this one too. I'll try to make them as interesting as I can, but if you really have any dying suggestions, feel free to comment down below...
Chapter Text
Peter woke up the next morning feeling exhausted. He didn’t want to get out of bed. It was half past six and Peter had only slept at five. His school started at seven. He regretted warning S.H.I.E.L.D. so late in the night, however that was the only reason he was able to go to sleep. He had gotten the information off of his chest, that’s all that had mattered.
He slowing started stretching his body, hearing little cracks from various places inside.
That felt good…
He softly got up, did some more stretching, and freshened up in the bathroom. He found a pair of pants and a decent shirt in his closet and put them on. He packed his bag and trudged down the stairs to greet Aunt May at the dining table.
“Good Morning, Peter. Did you have a good night’s sleep?”
“Huh-what? Ye-yeah! Yeah, I slept well…”
“Uh-huh…”
Peter yawned without realization, he looked at Aunt May sheepishly and blushed.
“Sorry…”
“That’s ok. Just, try to get as much sleep as you can. I know leading a double life can be hard, but you need rest.”
“Yeah, I know,”
He put his bag down on the table and dragged himself into the kitchen. He filled up a bowl with cereal and milk and got a glass of orange juice. He sat across from Aunt May at the table and started eating a little hurriedly, since he only had ten minutes until he had to leave the house.
Leaving the house made Peter instantly think of Deadpool, and the argument he had last night with him outside. His next victim could be anybody, maybe somebody who doesn’t even have to do anything with J. Jonah Jameson.
Maybe I should warn Aunt May, he thought, you know, just to be on the safe side. And so he did, “Aunt May?”
“Yes, Peter?”
“I need you to be very careful, especially when you’re alone.”
“Ok, but why’s that? Why all of a sudden?”
Peter sighed, “There’s a crazy anti-hero running around town about to kill his next victim,”
Aunt May was listening attentively.
“His name is Wade Wilson, but he’s known mostly as Deadpool. He has a red and black suit, unfortunately similar to mine. So, please be careful if you ever happen to cross paths with him!”
“Is that the man you were arguing with last night?”
Peter was silent, he didn’t answer his aunt’s question. Instead, he said, “I am going to talk to S.H.I.E.L.D. and see if they can have you under their security. I want to ensure your maximum protection.”
The room was quiet for sometime until Aunt May broke the silence by pointing out the time.
“Is… is Deadpool really that bad of a man? You don’t seem to be hurt from yesterday,”
“Um…” Peter hesitated, “he’s pretty bad. He works as a mercenary. S.H.I.E.L.D. isn’t fond of him,”
“Ok,” Aunt May sighed.
Peter picked up his bag and tied his shoes. He headed for the door.
“Bye Aunt May! Stay safe,”
Aunt May blew him a kiss from where she was sitting, “You too,”
Peter closed the door and started his regular journey to school.
He was just let out of Calculus and was making his way to his locker when a familiar face walked up to Peter and greeted him.
“Hi!”
“Uh-hi! MJ! I haven’t talked you-no you haven’t talked to me in forever!”
“Sorry about that Peter,” she was still hesitant around him, she wasn’t looking him in the eye.
Peter was sad that it had to be that way. Why would the idea of him being Spider-Man make her not even want to look at Peter in the hallway?
“So, what brings you to my locker?”
“I-I sorta have two things to say,”
“Go ahead,”
She suddenly looked up into Peter’s eyes with her glistening green ones. This took Peter by surprise and made him back up against his locker.
“Oh! Sorry, I didn’t mean to surprise you like that!”
“No, that’s fine. Back to what you were saying?”
“Right! Um, Petey…”
Wait, did she just- Peter thought, -did she just, call me Petey? Are things going back to normal? Peter grinned.
“I wanted to ask you about the whole… ‘situation’ that everyone is talking about. Without someone called Death.. Death poo or something? I wanted to hear it from you first,”
Death poo! Hahahahaha! Peter snickered. Then he broke out into laughter.
“What’s so funny? Is it something I said? Peter!” Mary Jane slapped Peter’s shoulder, looking upset.
So I guess we are good then!
“Sorry, it’s just that his name’s Deadpool, not that Death poo isn’t better,”
“Oh! Woops!” Mary Jane blushed, “Well, just answer my question, ok?”
“Ok, fine! But on one condition. Stop… avoiding me,” Peter looked down at his feet.
“I-I… I’m sorry. I promise to stop avoiding you. We can go back to being the best of friends. You, me, and Harry. Just like it always was!”
Peter looked up and smiled while quickly nodding his head, “Ok, I’ll tell you. But listen well, ok?”
“Ok,”
He told her about how the team had encountered Deadpool in the alleyway after he allegedly assassinated J. Jonah Jameson. Then he told her about how he got away and how they had to find him. He was unlucky with the tracking device but that same day Deadpool unexpectedly visited him, leaving him a hint. He had to warn the team about Deadpool, just like he had warned S.H.I.E.L.D. He told her how he was on the lose and that they needed to find him and stop his secretive plans as soon as possible.
“Be careful, MJ,”
“I will. Take care of yourself for me, will ya?” She softly pushed Peter's shoulder.
“I will,” Peter responded, "Hey! What was that second thing you wanted to say?"
"I already said it,"
"And that was..."
"I'm sorry."
Chapter 9: Getting into Action
Summary:
Peter finally warns his team about everything. Spider-Man and the team go meet Fury to see what they can do.
Notes:
I guess were are sorta almost halfway into the rising action. Still not at the midpoint (climax) yet. Too soon. But It seems the further into the story, the longer the chapters. Thank you to all my dedicated readers and for almost 600 hits and 25 kudos. It means a lot since this is my very first story/fanfiction/story ever! Thank you! (@Myster_Name)
Chapter Text
They were outside the school now, under a tree. Ava, Sam, Danny, and Luke. They were talking about school.
“...and then she gave me detention. Detention! I have de-ten-tion!”
Peter walked up to them, they had gotten his text to meet there after school.
“Calm down, Buckethead. It’s just a detention.”
“Oh yeah?! And what would you know, Bugboy?”
“Don’t call me that.”
“Well, then you don’t get to call me Buckethead!”
“Fair enough… Buckethead!”
“Hey!”
“Boys, knock it off!”
Ava had to step in between Sam and Peter so they would stop fighting.
“It’s Deadpool you should be fighting, not Sam.” Luke commented jokingly to Peter.
“Peter, what was it you wanted to talk to us about, anyway?” Danny speculated.
“Oh, right. It’s really important, you have to pay close attention.”
“Ok,” they all said simultaneously.
So Peter explained everything again for the second time that day. He started with the failed tracking and went on to the surprise visit and then to his chat with Fury.
“He wants us to report back to him as soon as possible, so like, now!”
“But I have a detention!”
They glared at Sam with annoyed faces.
“Fine! I’ll just make it up another day. But if Mrs. Steinbeck asks me why I wasn’t there, I’m blaming you guys!”
“Shut it, Buckethead!” Ava snapped.
"Hey!"
And with that they all ran to the now empty restrooms, suited up, and headed towards the Helicarrier.
The entrance to the Helicarrier opened after recognizing the team. They rushed inside, pushing each other out of the way, like it was some kind of intense race to get to Fury first. Typical teenagers. They stopped right outside his door; Spider-Man was about to knock when Fury suddenly opened it.
“Come in, I have been expecting you,” he stepped aside to let them into the conference room.
They went in and sat around the table, leaving the head chair vacant for Fury.
“Spidey just told us about everything,” Power-Man began, “so, do you know where Deadpool is now?”
“We are not entirely sure of his present location, but we do have something that could lead us to him.”
“And what would that be?”
“An address.”
“So you're saying that some guy saw Deadpool walk in and out of a building?” Nova exclaimed.
“Yes,” Fury answered.
“And you trusted him?” White Tiger questioned.
“We… did what was necessary, yes.”
“So, I’m guessing we have to go and investigate?” Spider-Man suggested.
“Yes, right now would be great!”
The team groaned and slowly exited the Helicarrier.
“Are you sure this is the place?” Nova asked nervously.
They were standing outside a town home; it looked old and the outside walls were covered in what seemed to be pink paint but it was fading away. There was moss growing around some of the edges and there were some graffiti drawings on some sides.
“Yes, 14692 Maple Street, Brooklyn.” Spider-Man repeated, looking at his watch that S.H.I.E.L.D. replaced after Deadpool damaged his previous one.
The team silently approached the house, looking around the street for anything suspicious. They tried the door, it opened. They stepped inside and flipped the light switches. They had entered a room that seemed to be the living room. It was dusty with chairs sideways on the floor and holes in various parts of the walls. The team made their way to the other rooms. There was a dirty kitchen with broken dishes everywhere, a study room with books and paper trashed on tables, and what was left of a destroyed formal dining room. This house had definitely been abandoned years ago. They were searching the rooms for any evidence regarding Deadpool’s presence, when Iron Fist found a damaged door leading to a flight of stairs going downwards. Through the darkness, he saw a door leading to the basement.
“Come on guys! I found something!”
They hurried down the stairs and tried the door. It was jammed. Power Man used his strength to bust open the door which immediately came crashing down on the floor. The door had opened up to a single room. It was small and musty with a table and two chairs in the middle. There was an burnt-out candle on the table and one of the chairs had remains of what looked like rope tied to it.
“Someone was definitely in here.” White Tiger declared.
“It seems like it was two people.” Power Man added.
“Maybe one of them was held hostage by the other, judging by the ropes.” Iron Fist commented.
“Maybe it was-” Nova was cut off by Spider-Man.
“Deadpool and Jameson.”
“Hey! I was gonna say that, webhead!”
Chapter 10: The Deal
Chapter Text
Deadpool held Jameson’s hands behind his back, as if he were arresting him. He walked Jameson to the waiting cab which stood outside the town home on Maple street.
“Where are we going?”
“Somewhere.”
“Seriously, where?!”
“Oooh… feisty Jameson! Might just ditch Spider-Man’s sweet ass for yours!”
“What?!”
“Fuck! I’m joking! Your old, wrinkly ass isn’t even close to being my baby boy’s ass! Jesus!”
“God dammit…” Jameson mumbled under his breath. He was sick and tired of being with this maniac.
“What was that, Jameson? You jealous of my Spider-babe? Don’t worry, you’ll get to kill him soon enough!”
They made it to the cab. The driver was an Indian man, who looked surprisingly confident, and was wearing a shabby jacket, a polo shirt, a sweater, and some baggy jeans.
“Holy shit! Dopinder! What the fuck are you doing in Brooklyn?! Why aren’t you back in O Canada?”
“Oh, hello Mr. Pool. Nice to see you again. I came to visit some of my family.” Dopinder explained.
“How’s Gita?”
“She’s doing fine. Unfortunately, I have not won her heart over yet. She’s still falling for my stupid cousin Bandhu!”
“I thought I told you to cut him up and stuff him in a bag!” Deadpool hissed.
“I’m sorry Mr. Pool, I just couldn’t.”
“No crisp high-fives for you today!”
Deadpool opened the door to the backseat and pushed Jameson in; he slammed the door shut. He then climbed into the passenger seat and told Dopinder an address. Dopinder put it into the car’s built in navigational system and started driving with the robotic voice commanding the directions.
“Where are we going?!” Jameson yelled from the back.
“Fuck you, Jameson! Will you ever shut up?!” Deadpool complained.
“Mr. Pool, I forgot to ask you. How is… what was her name… ah yes! Vanessa! Mr. Pool, how are things going between the two of you?!”
“Oh I ditched her a long time ago!”
“But it’s only been a year-”
“You see, Dopinder, sometimes life gives you lemons. So what do you do?”
“Make lemonade!” Dopinder exclaimed.
“No! We are not Beyoncé, god dammit…” Deadpool sighed.
“Who?”
"Forget it. But what do you do, Dopinder?"
"I don't know, Mr. Pool!"
“You have a lemon party!”
Jameson shook his head in disappointment. He felt very sorry for whoever that Vanessa was.
They kept driving until they reached a red light. Dopinder turned to face Deadpool. Then to he looked at the now asleep Jameson. He moved his eyes back to Deadpool.
“Mr. Pool,” Dopinder whispered, “Who is the guest you brought with you today?”
“Oh, don’t worry ‘bout him, Dopinder. Just someone stupid.”
“O-Okay,” Dopinder stuttered as the traffic light turned green.
A few minutes later, they were there.
“You have reached your destination,” the navigation system spoke, “Destination on the right.”
Deadpool turned to Dopinder and actually paid him for the trip this time. Dopinder thanked him as Deadpool got out of the car and opened Jameson’s door.
“Wake up, you fuckin’ sleepyhead!”
He dragged Jameson out of the car and on his feet, closing the door behind them. The cab drove off.
They were standing outside a pawn shop. It had many colorful signs and banners, telling viewers they had jewelry, guns, and cameras and that they could buy, sell, pawn, or get loans. Deadpool pushed Jameson inside and they walked up to the counter. There was a man with long white hair. He had a mustache and beard of the same color. He wore a leather vest over a sleeveless shirt of a band. He had a bandana on and multiple piercings on his ears. He looked up at the guy in a spandex suit and his well dressed hostage. Jameson was still wearing the shirt, slacks, and dress shoes he wore on the day he was “assassinated”.
“How can I help y’all?”
“Where the fuck is Dillon?”
“Max? He’s in the back. You the guys he’s been waiting for?”
“Yeah.”
“You here with the “hostage”?”
“Yeah!” Deadpool silently mocked the man’s inability to process things.
“Head on to the back room, he’s in there.” The man pointed behind him.
Deadpool and Jameson pushed past the man and walked into the back room.
“Oh look it’s Maxie! Jamie, say hi!” Deadpool raised Jameson hand and waved it.
Jameson pulled his hand back down and shot a mean look at Deadpool.
“Now now, Jamie. Be a good boy.” Deadpool scratched the back of Jameson’s ear.
Jameson was annoyed to the point where he started growling like a dog. Deadpool cracked up with laughter.
“That’s enough!” Maxwell Dillon, who was also known as Electro, demanded. He was in his costume, green and yellow with the mask that covered the top half of his face, leaving holes for his eyes. He was sitting behind a desk. He motioned with his hand for Deadpool and Jameson to take the two seats in front of his desk.
“Sit!” Deadpool commanded. Jameson sat down in the chair. “Good boy,” Deadpool exclaimed, patting Jameson on his head.
“Stop!” Maxwell threatened.
Deadpool sat quietly, for once.
“And I go by Electro!”
“Oooh… Electro! Sweet, like-”
“Stop talking!”
Electro turned to Jameson, “Has Deadpool explained anything to you?” he sighed.
Jameson was scared, “Ye-yes,” he stammered.
“And that would be…?”
“That you spared my life to kill Sp-sp-spider… man.”
“And..?”
“That you w-want me to k-k-kill him…”
“Very good! Deadpool, I may have underestimated you,” Electro admitted while handing Deadpool a briefcase, “You may leave now. I will handle Jameson myself.”
“Yes sir!” Deadpool stood up and saluted. Then he made two sharp right turns and marched out the door like a soldier, tightly clutching the case. He got his money, his job was done.
After Deadpool had left, Electro faced Jameson and looked him straight in the eye. Electro smiled, his eyes showing an immense amount of confidence.
“So,” he said to Jameson, “will you?”
“Uh…” Jameson gulped, he was terrified, nervous, angry, and confused all at once.
“Will you assassinate Spider-Man?”
“I-I-I don't want too…”
“Well, then I guess I’ll have to kill you!” Electro chuckled, reaching for a gun that sat on his desk.
“No! No, please! Please don't kill me! I'll… I'll kill him! I'll kill Spider-Man!” Jameson pleaded.
Electro grinned, like he knew exactly how Jameson was going to react.
“But… but how do I kill him?”
“Shoot him.”
“So… uh… after all o-o-of this, I'm free to go?”
“Yes, you will be entirely free to do whatever you please after the assassination is over.”
Electro extended out his hand and Jameson shook it. It was a deal.
“And when… exactly is that?”
“Tomorrow.”
Chapter Text
The team was having another meeting with Fury in his conference room. They were sitting at the table and informing him on what they had found in the location they had investigated the day before. Fury was listening, trying to process everything the best he could.
“...Iron Fist found the door leading to the basement and Power Man opened it up. We walked in to find a dark and empty room with a table, two chairs, and a unlit candle.” Spider-Man reported.
“Oh! And one of the chairs had the remains of ropes attached to it!” Nova added.
“We were thinking Deadpool may have interrogated his hostage in that room, but they aren’t there anymore. Deadpool must have taken him somewhere.” Iron Fist commented.
“Maybe he took him to the person who hired him to do this in the first place.” Power Man wondered.
“That sounds likely,” Fury replied, “but we need to find out who that person is.”
Suddenly, all around the helicarrier, the power went off. The helicarrier started to fall out of the sky. Its invisibility device turned off, so it was visibly falling straight into the Hudson river. Everyone was shocked, many were shouting for help or commanding others to do something, People and various objects were being thrown from one side to another. The helicarrier kept falling, and the power would not come back.
Then all of the sudden, the helicarrier abruptly stopped in midair. The power had come back on. The helicarrier was flying again, everyone was extremely confused. They all looked at each other to see if anyone was hurt; thankfully no one was. They were starting to clean up the mess the fall had created while conversing about what had just happened, when all the computers were starting to come back on; all the screens were covered with the same image. Electro.
“Greetings, my friends.” Electro spoke from the video playing on all the screens, “I see that you are all starting to realizing that it was indeed I who took away the power from this flying device. What is it… a.. a… a helicarrier?”
“Yep, H-E-L-I-C-A-R...R...R...uh…” a voice spoke from behind him.
“Deadpool!” Spider-Man gasped, sounding slightly disappointed. He had never thought of Deadpool to be the type of man to side with the villain, though he should have expected something like this. Spider-Man was ashamed in himself, he should have stopped Deadpool when he had the chance.
Deadpool, hearing Peter’s soothing voice, revealed himself from where he had been hiding and screeched, “Oh, baby boy! How’s your ass today?!”
“Stop interrupting me, Deadpool!” Electro glared at him through his yellow mask. “As I was saying, I sucked out all the power and electricity from this… er… helicarrier as a way to say ‘hello’!”
“Electro! What do you want from us?!” Fury demanded.
“Ok, ok, you caught me. I do want something from you… well, Spider-Man in particular.”
“Huh? What could you possibly want from me?” Spider-Man asked, dazed.
“I would like to meet you, and only you, at Maple Street in Brooklyn in… let’s say.. an hour?”
“Why?” Spider-Man did not understand what was going on.
“Oh… we have some unfinished business to catch up on, my friend.”
“What?!”
“Deadpool will be at your little aunt’s house in thirty minutes to escort you to Brooklyn. And remember, only you! Ha ha ha ha ha…”
The screens went black, Electro had disconnected himself from the helicarrier systems.
Everyone simultaneously turned towards Spider-Man. Spider-Man didn't know what to do. He knew if he went to Brooklyn with back up, Electro would probably be smart enough to sense something was wrong. But if he went without it… anything could happen. He needed S.H.I.E.L.D.’s help with this decision. He turned to face his team and Fury.
“What should I do?”
“This is a hard decision,” Fury admitted, “but I think you should go… without backup.”
“O-okay,”
"But first thing's first. You gotta get to your aunt before Deadpool does!"
"I just hope he's not already there..."
The team and S.H.I.E.L.D. wished him luck and he left.
He entered the house still dressed up in his costume. Aunt May was in the kitchen cleaning up. She turned to see her nephew as Spider-Man which gave her quite a shock; she was still getting used to this whole “super-hero” thing.
“Oh! Peter! I almost forgot about you being Spider-Man!” she laughed.
“Hi Aunt May.” Peter sighed while taking off his mask.
“Is-is something wrong?”
“Um… uh… there’s this… er… situation that I’m sorta in, and I don't really know why.”
“Oh, is it bad? Are you in trouble?”
“Well um… a villain called Electro w-w-wants something from me, and only me. He made that very clear. He wants to meet me alone in Brooklyn in an hour.” Peter sighed again.
"A guy he hired will be here soon to take me there."
“Oh… when will you be back?”
Peter turned to look at his aunt with saddened eyes. She seemed to sense where this was going and she started to look unhappy as well.
“I-I don't know…”
After having heard this, Aunt May started to tear up. She pulled her nephew into a long, loving hug. Then she started to cry.
“No matter what happens, know that I love you.”
Peter replied with a broken voice, “I love you too.”
“Stay safe, I know you’ll be back soon! Have hope!”
“I will be safe, for you.”
They looked into each other's watery eyes for what could've been the last time when the doorbell rang.
“Oh Petey?! Time’s-a-ticking! Come show me that sweet ass of yours again!”
Deadpool was there, waiting behind the door. Peter hugged his aunt one last time before wiping away his tears and putting his mask back on, running out the door.
He came outside to see Deadpool sitting on the stairs leading up to the door.
“Do you really have to talk like that in front of my aunt?” Spider-Man asked, voice still broken.
“Oh poor Spidey’s been crying! Lemme hug you then!”
“Get away from me! Let's just go already.” Spider-Man said, sniffling.
“Attitude! Me likey!”
They walked to a cab parked at the corner of the street. Dopinder was waiting inside. Deadpool opened the back door for Spider-Man and said, “After you, ma-lady!”
“Stop!”
“If you insist.” Deadpool replied while getting into the cab after Spider-Man.
Deadpool motioned zipping his lips, locking them with a key, and throwing the key away. Spider-Man shook his head.
“Oh! Spider-babe! This is Dopinder!” Deadpool said pointing to the driver.
“Hello.” Dopinder said in a heavy Indian accent.
Spider-Man waved weakly.
“Dopinder, you know where to go!”
“Yes, Mr. Pool.”
“Then go!”
Dopinder immediately started the car and drove. They were off to Brooklyn. For the first time in a very long time , Spider-Man was scared.
Notes:
Btw, I noticed that in all the chapters where I mention the helicarrier, I always capitalized the 'h'. That's really bothering me... -_- I'll try to change them asap...
And where the story is so far, we're almost at the climax. We'll get there in a chapter or two. And unfortunately the Spideypool stuff doesn't come till the end, but Wade's always talking 'bout Peter's ass if that makes you happy...
THX <3
Chapter Text
They arrived at Brooklyn only after two hours because of Deadpool’s occasional bathroom breaks, which may or may not have triggered Spider-Man to go a couple times as well. Dopinder turned the car onto Maple Street and parked on the right side underneath a lamp post.
“Deadpool, where is Jameson?” Spider-Man asked.
“Oh! So you know!” Deadpool replied.
“I mean, you sorta hinted at it with the message you left me on my window.”
“True…”
“So where is he?”
“What makes you think I’m gonna tell you?”
“‘Cause I may not be alive after this?”
“True…”
“Wait, what?! Electro’s actually going to kill me?!”
“What makes you think I’m gonna tell you?”
“Stop repeating yourself!”
“True…”
“Stop!”
“What makes you think I’m gonna tell you?”
Spider-Man looked away and shook his head. All he could think about was today possibly being his last day alive. But he wanted to make it through for Aunt May.
Deadpool opened the door and got out of the car, moving his hand, indicating for Spider-Man to follow him. Dopinder rolled down his window and Deadpool threw some money in. This was only the second time that Deadpool had ever paid him for a ride ever. The first was a couple days ago when Deadpool and Jameson went to meet Electro. It was all crisp high-fives before that.
Dopinder drove away after that, leaving Spider-Man and Deadpool alone on the street; Electro was nowhere to be seen.
“Deadpool, where’s Electro?”
“I dunno,”
“So… what now?”
“I dunno,”
Then the lamp post they were under started flickering, there were buzzing sounds come from it. Suddenly it fell down with a loud bang. Electro was finally here.
“Oh, my dear, dear Spider-babe!”
“Hey! Only I get to call him that!” Deadpool commented, annoyed.
“Wow, so you told Electro literally everything,” Spider-Man remarked.
“Maybe…”
Suddenly another voice was heard, “Eh-hm! I’m here too, you menace!”
Jameson walked out from behind Electro.
“Oh! J. Jonah Jameson! Editor of the Daily Bugle ! Sorry, didn’t see you there. Would've been a waste of my time anyway.” Spider-Man smirked.
“I love it when you talk like that! All sarcastic and stuff!” Deadpool squealed.
“Not. Funny.” Jameson responded.
“Okay! That’s enough!” Electro commanded.
Electro walked closer to Spider-Man, Jameson following from behind.
“Now you may be wondering, why I brought you here, what I possibly may want from you. What role Jameson plays in all of this,” Electro continued, “The answer is simple. But first we must go somewhere else. Deadpool, search him!”
Immediately after the command, Deadpool took away Spider-Man’s watch and had to fight with him to take away his web-shooters. Then Deadpool started patting Spider-Man down. He started humming something by George Michael. Or Wham!. One of the two.
“Hey!” Spider-Man complained as Deadpool hands started to get more aggressive as he got lower down his body.
“Sorry… I couldn’t help myself!” he said seductively with a wink.
Spider-Man was not carrying anything else on him, he was clean.
They all made their way to the next street, Electro leading them. The stopped right in front of the entrance of the street. Electro pointed straight ahead looking at Spider-Man. The street was empty, at least Spider-Man could not see anything.
“W-w-wha?”
“What troubles you Spider-Man?” Electro asked with a smirk on his face, still pointing ahead.
“I-I don’t get it. What am I supposed to be looking at?”
“Patience, dear Spider-babe,”
“Hey!” Deadpool and Spider-Man said simultaneously.
Suddenly, Electro started to turn bright yellow. Energy was gathering all around him. He started to make a ball with his hands, energy collecting tightly around them. He then shot it out straight ahead of him into the street. Spider-Man was very confused, but not for long. The energy ball stopped in mid-air; it had hit something. That something started to take shape as the energy spread all around it. It was a small aircraft vehicle, similar to a quinjet, it almost looked like a small spaceship from hollywood movies. The only way it could be activated was through electric energy.
“I know, it does look like it’s from Star Wars!” Deadpool said enthusiastically to Spider-Man.
“What?”
“Stop talking and go inside!” Electro commanded, pointing at the jet-like vehicle, a stairway coming down from it.
They all boarded the aircraft, took a seat in the front, and buckled up. Deadpool was sitting in the pilot’s seat, with Electro right next to him. Spider-Man and Jameson were sitting behind them, side by side, Jameson almost growling at Spider-Man. Spider-Man dreaded what was to come next, especially with Deadpool flying the aircraft.
Deadpool started the engines and closed the stairway.
“Attention passengers, this is your captain speaking,” Deadpool said as serious as he could, “Please prepare for take off.”
The aircraft’s stands were pulled pack as it started to lift up into the air, its speed increasing. Soon they were high enough to see all of Brooklyn. Then, before Spider-Man knew it, they were above the clouds.
“Yee-haw!” Deadpool shrieked.
“Where are we going?!” Spider-Man yelled.
“Patience, Spider-babe!” Electro responded.
“Okay, that’s like the third time you’ve called me that and the second time you’ve told me to have patience! But I can’t, I want answers!”
“Ooooh… there’s the spice again!” Deadpool remarked.
“Do you ever shut up?!” Spider-Man and Jameson spoke together, then they looked at each other, somewhat surprised. There was a moment of awkward silence.
“We are going to a secret location so you can be killed by Jameson.” Electro answered out of the blue.
Spider-Man gulped, he now regretted asking. He was shaken, realization slapping him in the face. He was so scared, probably the most scared he had ever been in his life. Jameson was sitting next to him, laughing at Spider-Man’s silent reaction. All Spider-Man was worried about right now is if he would ever see Aunt May again. He felt like any minute now, he would pee his pants. He had been right, this could be the end.
Deadpool looked back from where he was sitting a pulled a frown which could be seen through his mask.
“I’m gonna miss you and your beautiful ass, baby boy!” Deadpool weeped.
“Oh, stop it! You don’t even mean it! You caused this!” Spider-Man almost screamed at Deadpool. He was so close to breaking; he didn’t want to die like this. J. Jonah Jameson murdering him was definitely not what he had pictured as the end of his life.
“Okay, let’s not play the blame game here!” Deadpool responded.
And with that, the trip became silent. No more questions were asked. Nobody talked the rest of the flight, not even Deadpool. No one wanted to.
Notes:
P.S. In case anyone thinks Electro calling Spider-Man "Spider-babe" is anything romantic and they are going to romantically involved, it's not and they won't be. I know I have you waiting for the "Spideypool" but I'm sorry to say that doesn't come until the last chapters... <3 Thanks again.
Chapter 13: Don't Judge a Man by His Cover
Summary:
When Spider-Man, Electro, Jameson, and Deadpool fly their way to the location, Deadpool starts lying about where they are.
Chapter Text
“Deadpool, you said we were supposed to arrive at the location in 10 minutes! It’s been 30!” Electro screeched.
“I know what I’m doing, alright?! Just got a little lost, but now we’re back on track!”
“Well why the fuck didn’t you tell us before?!” Jameson furiously asked.
“Hey! Let’s be calm adults and not raise our voices, especially in front of our innocent younger passenger.”
“I’m almost 18, and it’s not like I haven’t heard that language before!” Spider-Man snapped back.
They were still flying above the clouds, not a single bit of land could be seen from where they were. Deadpool was the only person on board who was not concerned in the least.
“Where are we right now, Deadpool?!” Electro demanded for an answer.
“We’re almost there!” Deadpool replied.
“No, seriously Deadpool, where are we?” Spider-Man asked impatiently.
“We,” Deadpool smirked, “are on the way to your execution!”
“No, Deadpool like, where -” Jameson started.
Spider-Man cut him off, “Don't even try, he’s hopeless.”
Another five minutes passed and they were still nowhere near the ground. Electro, Jameson, and surprisingly also Spider-Man were getting very impatient. Since they were in fact heading to where Electro would probably kill him, it was surprising that Spider-Man was eager to find out where they were going… to kill him. Nobody knew where exactly they were situated right now, or where Deadpool was actually taking them.
It was Spider-Man who finally got to asking.
“Deadpool, where are you taking us?”
“Oh you sound so worried, baby boy. Everything will be alright, it'll be quick and easy.”
Spider-Man was losing his patience, “Deadpool, I'm going to ask you one more time, where are we?”
Suddenly there was a distant sound that could be heard. The noise started to get louder. Everyone could hear it now. It was an engine. Not one, but five. Five jets were now circling around them.
Spider-Man looked around him in amazement. He recognized that sound. These were jets from S.H.I.E.L.D. They had come to rescue him, well at least that is what he thought. But how? He had no way of contacting S.H.I.E.L.D. So who did?
“Deadpool! I thought you said he was clean! How was Spider-Man able to contact S.H.I.E.L.D.?”
“I am clean! And I didn't contact them, I swear!” Spider-Man pleaded.
“Then who did?” Jameson questioned.
Then it hit them. They all turned towards Deadpool who seemed to be smiling behind his mask.
“Son of a bitch!” Electro yelled as he lunged forward to attack his betrayer.
Deadpool dodged and drew his katanas. Electro seemed to be forming a ball of energy with his hands but Spider-Man was quick to react. He got out of his seat and snatched his web-shooters back from Deadpool. He then shot webs at Electro, tying Electro’s hands together. He then attached more webs to Electro’s body and smashed him on the ground; all this while getting shocked with electricity. Spider-Man screamed in pain. Both men fell to the ground and were unable to move.
Deadpool quickly cut off the webs that were connecting Spider-Man to Electro. Spider-Man was not being shocked anymore but be was still whimpering in pain.
“Are you okay?” Deadpool asked Spider-Man, softly for once. He looked very calm but concerned. He took off Peter’s mask.
“Wha-wha… huh? But you… you… AH!” Peter had tried to get up but he was still in pain. But that was the least of his concerns. Peter was startled by the sudden change of behavior from Deadpool. Nothing made sense to him right now.
With Deadpool attending Peter, Electro now unconscious, and Jameson sitting in his seat with shock, no one was piloting the aircraft right now. Worse yet, when Spider-Man had smashed Electro, Electro rammed into many buttons, levers, and controls. The aircraft had lost one of its engines and some other important controls were destroyed. The plane was going down and so was Peter. With all the damage from the electric shocks and crashing to the ground, Peter passed out.
Peter woke up in what seemed to be a room in the nursing and hospital center of the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier. He was lying down in a bed wearing a typical white patient robe with blankets coming up to his chest. There were a couple of wires attached to his right arm and wrist.
He slowly opened his eyes, fluttering at the bright light that shined down on him. A nurse was holding a clipboard and inspecting Peter’s body.
“Oh Peter, you’re awake!” she exclaimed with a beaming smile on her face, “How are you feeling?”
Peter was still groggy from the medicine the doctor had given him. However, the medicine did not help heal all the damage that had been done to Peter and therefore he was still in pain.
“Eh-huh?” he mumbled, dazed. He could not properly comprehend anything the nurse was saying.
“I see you’re still a little tired from the medicine. Don’t worry! With the medicine the doctor has given for your electric shock injuries, you’ll be better in no time!”
Peter tried to force a smile.
“I’ll go and get the doctor and Nick, you sit tight.” She flashed a smile again.
She came back with a doctor and Fury. Fury was actually smiling for once.
“Hello Peter, good to see your up and awake.” Fury spoke.
“Yeah, it is good to be alive,” Peter croaked.
“Yes, you are very lucky Peter. Do you mind if I conduct a quick check-up?” the doctor suggested.
“Go ahead, do your job.” Peter replied with a weak voice.
“Okay… everything’s fine! Your heart, brain, blood flow, nervous system, everything! You still have a couple bruises here and there but nothing too major!” the doctor announced.
“That’s a relief,” Peter sighed, “so… when can I go home?”
“In about a day or two. We want to make sure nothing else goes wrong and so everything heals by the time you go home. That sound fair to you?”
“Sure,”
“Alright then! We’ll see you later, Peter.” The doctor and nurse made their way out the room.
Peter was left with Fury.
“Um… how long was I out?” Peter questioned.
“A couple days,”
“What?!” Peter coughed. He reached to his side table and grabbed a bottle of water. He took slow sips and cleared his throat.
“A couple days? What about Aunt May? Does she know I’m here? What about school? I’m sure with the mission, and-and-and the days I was passed out, I probably missed a lot of notes and tests!”
“Peter! Calm down. Everyone has been informed, even the school. Well, at least the news channels have informed everyone,”
“Oh no,”
“Don’t worry, Peter. Seriously, it’ll all be just fine.”
“Okay,”
Peter took a couple deep breaths in and out and relaxed himself.
“So, where is Electro?”
“Behind bars,”
“And Jameson?”
“He is being interrogated and if he is found guilty for any crimes, he too will be but in prison,”
Peter hesitated before asking his next question. He was not sure he would like or even believe what he thought Fury’s answer would be, and he didn’t know why.
“And… and… where’s… Deadpool?”
“He is back on duty, but he said he wanted to visit you tomorrow,”
“What… what… side is he on?”
Fury took a deep breath, “Peter, I know he may seem like a… a… bad man. But what you, and your team, don’t know… is that, he works for us.”
“What?!”
“Yes, I know it’s a lot to take in. Process the information I am about to tell you,” Fury continued, “Deadpool has always worked with us. Yes, he had side jobs, and yes, he is a mercenary. But he was always our mercenary. All those times when he joined the team and either quit or got kicked out was because of his… habits. So S.H.I.E.L.D. and I decided to hire him as someone who would not be part of any team, but who would work alone. And it was a good decision, he was very useful and helpful to us. He works as a spy and mercenary now and has been very successful at covering up his tracks… well… until this mission.” Fury took a pause.
“Go on, please.” Peter urged.
“Okay, well… this mission was different. It started when Deadpool got a call from Electro who offered him money to assassinate Jameson. Deadpool had accepted the deal and had immediately come straight to us to report. See, Electro had been missing for awhile ever since he escaped his cell. Deadpool believed that if he faked the assassination, he could find Electro’s location and we could lock him up. But when it came down to the actual day, the news spread faster than we thought. Everyone was losing their minds over the assassination . Soon you and your team were involved in trying to track down who killed Jameson.”
“I think I get the picture you’re painting… but why didn’t you tell us before?”
“I didn’t tell you and your team about Deadpool because… of the history you have with him. He’s done many things in the past, the team has seen actions that they wish they could unsee. I saw how arrogant he was to you, that wasn’t a good first impression. His actions can be rough and sarcastic at times, but he’s only serious when he needs to be. I thought you guys wouldn’t be able to accept him, though. Or know how to deal with a person like him.”
“Uh…”
“Here, I’ll give you time to process this truckload of information I just dumped on you. I’ll leave you alone now. Get well soon, Peter.”
Just as Fury was about to open the door, Peter stopped him.
“Wait. When did you say he was coming to visit me?”
Chapter Text
The next day, May Parker entered the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier. She was escorted by both Nova and Power Man. They showed her to Nick Fury. Fury and May talked before Fury lead her to the nursing and hospital area, she was here to see her nephew.
Peter was in the process of being given more medicine to help his shock wounds when there was a knock on the door. The nurse was the only other person inside the room, so she went and opened the door. Aunt May was standing outside with a box of chocolates and a dozen cards which looked like too much for her to carry.
“Why, hello Mrs. Parker! Glad to see you here,” the nurse welcomed.
“Please, call me May,” Aunt May responded as she walked in.
“I’ll give you two some time, alright?” the nurse suggested as she made her way out of the room, closing the door behind her.
Then Aunt May looked into Peter’s blue eyes, her bottom lip quivering.
“Oh, Peter!” she cried as she walked over to her nephew, dropping the chocolate and cards, and hugged him tight.
“Hi Aunt May,” Peter coughed, “it’s nice to see you again.”
“It sure is nice to see you well and alive!” Aunt May joked through her tears.
“I thought I was never going to see you again,” she weeped.
“I thought the same thing until Deadpool saved me,”
“Wait, isn’t that the guy you were warning me about the other day?”
“Yes, that’s him. But he’s… different I guess. Not at all what I thought he was.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah, apparently he works for S.H.I.E.L.D.”
“Wow, so he’s like an undercover agent or something?”
“Yeah,”
“And he saved you,”
“Yeah,”
“You better thank him, Peter!”
“I will... he’s actually coming to meet me soon to see how I’m doing,”
“Oh, that’s very nice of him,”
“Yeah, I guess,”
“But Peter, please be careful around him,”
“Yes I- wait, what do you mean?”
“I heard him talking to you that night… and then again the day you left,”
Peter blushed, “Did you hear… everything he said?”
“Um, unfortunately I did,”
Peter’s cheeks deepened in color.
“Look, Peter, you are a good-looking young man, but don’t let anyone advantage of that… that’s all I’m saying.”
“O-okay,” Peter suddenly felt very awkward.
Then Aunt May’s eyes quickly darted to the chocolate and cards scattered on the floor. Her eyes widened in shock.
“Oh my! I almost forgot about those!” she admitted as he hurriedly popped the wrapped chocolates back into the box while arranging the cards and picking them back up.
“As you may have already guessed, these are all for you.” she said as she softly laid everything on Peter’s lap.
“Oh, that’s so sweet. Who are they from?”
“Some from Harry, some from Mary Jane, some even from your team here at S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury told me to give those ones to you.”
“This… this is so nice of them, all of them. A little unnecessary, but so nice!”
“I’ll give you time to look through them,” Aunt May said as she seated herself in a chair next to Peter’s bed.
“Ok,” Peter replied as he slowly straightened himself up into a sitting position and started reading the cards one by one.
Harry’s was first, then came MJ’s, Ava’s, Luke’s, Danny’s, and Sam’s. All of them were short and sweet, well thought-out. Surprisingly even Sam’s, in fact his had been the sweetest of all.
‘Hey Peter, how are you feeling? I really do hope you’re doing alright. I just want to take this opportunity to say I’m sorry. I’m sorry for joking about your health before and putting your life at risks because of my previous behavior. I hope something like this doesn’t happen to you, or anyone, again since it has made me realize how losing you would feel. Stay strong Peter. From Sam.’
This warmed Peter’s heart. All those times Sam was rude to him had been because he actually cared. There were a couple other cards from Peter’s friends from school, all very nice. There was even one from Flash, who kept it straight to the point, but still kind. Then Peter came to the cards from the S.H.I.E.L.D. staff. Fury, then Coulson, then a couple others. There was also a card that was signed but multiple people-the rest of the S.H.I.E.L.D. staff. This made Peter feel so happy, like he was appreciated. And he was. There was one more card left for him to open. He picked it up. It was sealed in a red envelope and Peter’s name was written on the top. He ripped it open and looked at the card. It was a light blue card with yellow tulips and daisies decorating the front. He opened it.
'Hello Peter, I hope you’re better now, Fury said you were. I tried my best to keep your ass safe, I really did. Please forgive me for letting you come in harm’s way. I hope to never see you in pain ever again. And I guess I probably have a lot of explaining to do after all of this, and I will answer your questions whenever I get to meet you next, which I hope will be soon. I know this sounds pretty cliché, but I really do hope you get well soon. - W. Wilson'
It took a while for Peter to realize the “W.” stood for Wade and that this card belonged to him though it hardly sounded anything like him. Little did he know Wade was standing right behind the door, ready to knock.
The knock was loud and clear. Aunt May opened the door to a tall man wearing jeans and a dark hoodie, covering his face with it pulled down. His scarred nose, mouth, and chin were still visible.
“Hi. You must be Mrs. Parker. I’m Wade Wilson, I’m here to meet Peter.”
“Yes, do come in,” Aunt May insisted.
Wade made his way inside, whispering a “thank you” to Aunt May.
“Aunt May, do you… do you mind… um… leaving us alone for a couple minutes?” Peter requested.
“Of course, I don’t mind at all. I’ll let you two catch up.” she said as she walked out of the room.
Wade turned to Peter, keeping his head low, and greeted Peter, “Hey, how are you?”
“Better than I was 3 days ago,”
“I bet,”
“They’re actually letting me go home tonight,”
“That's great news!”
“Yeah,”
Wade stood there awkwardly in the middle of the room. Peter was not in his comfort zone either. This was the first time he had seen Wade as Wade and not as Deadpool. And Wade was unusually polite and quiet. Peter had noticed the scars but had decided against asking about them in order to not be rude.
“Oh! I um… brought you these,” Wade said as he revealed a small bouquet of flowers from behind his back. He handed them to Peter.
“Oh, thank you so much… you-you didn't have to do all this.”
“No, it's fine,”
“But the flowers and the card… oh my gosh, the chocolates were from you too!”
Their eyes moved to the box of chocolates that lay open on Peter’s lap. There were heaps of empty wrappers surrounding them, the boxes was almost done. Seeing that Wade had noticed, Peter blushed. He sheepishly raked his fingers through his hair.
“Uh, I may have almost finished them. Thank you… but you really didn't have to do any of this.”
“No don't worry, seriously, it's fine,” Wade assured.
There was another silence that came upon them. This time Peter was the one who voluntarily broke it.
“Uh, Dead-I mean Wade… thanks for um, you know, saving my life.”
“But I risked your life, I literally almost killed you!”
“But you didn't. If it weren't for you, I would've been dead 3 days ago. I-I forgive you,”
“Uh… well then you're welcome,” Peter smiled, quite awkwardly, at Wade which Wade returned with a timid grin of his own.
It started to get silent again, so Peter asked a question that was burning his brain out of curiosity.
“Why are you really here?” he finally let out.
“What do you mean? I’m here to see you and to make sure you’re better,” Wade responded keeping his head low, taken aback by the question.
“Like, is that the only reason you’re here, ‘cause you’ve clearly done that already,” Peter stated.
“I… uh…” Wade was struggling for words, he honestly did not know what else to do.
“S-sorry, I didn't mean to come off so harsh like that,” Peter apologized while slowly handing Wade his card back, “but I couldn’t help to notice what you wrote on this card,”
Wade picked the card up and looked at it, he uncomfortably lifted his hood up just a bit to be able to read better. This made him feel insecure, so he turned around to not be seen by Peter. After he had read the card, he pulled his hood back down and turned around, returning the card to Peter.
‘I’ve never seen him so nervous or vulnerable before, maybe it has something to do with his scars…’ Peter thought.
He had noticed scars on Wade’s hands as well, leaving Peter to come to the conclusion that they covered his entire body.
‘I wonder if it’s due to an accident of some sort, or maybe it’s not permanent and it’s something very recent.’
“Uh… I don’t really know… where to start. What do you wanna know?”
Peter was snapped out of pondering and was struggling to find a reply. He did not want to ask something that could end up becoming too personal.
“So… you and S.H.I.E.L.D. huh?”
“Yeah… I should have told you earlier but I didn’t find the right… time, I guess.”
“That’s alright, as long as I know you’re not trying to kill me anymore, you’re fine,”
They shared a quiet laugh together which did not last too long. Peter had more questions that needed to be answered.
“So from mercenary to S.H.I.E.L.D. agent… how exactly did that happen?”
“Well, you know, I was a pretty good mercenary and S.H.I.E.L.D. was familiar with me so when they saw that I was struggling, they recruited me. Don't get me wrong, I still do my own stuff, but when S.H.I.E.L.D. needs me, I'm there.”
“‘Struggling’?”
Wade hesitated before giving Peter an answer. “I… I um…”
“Sorry, I shouldn’t have asked,” Peter sighed.
“I was struggling with cancer. And the bad ‘treatment’ I had received for it,” Wade immediately blurted out, his head low.
Peter would be wrong to admit he was not shaken by Wade’s outburst or the fact that he had just told him he had had cancer. Seeing how Peter was left dumbfounded by his words, Wade tried to loosen up a little.
“Well, I'm still alive… and you are too!”
“Yeah, that is a good thing…”
But Peter was still left in shock. He could not understand why Wade had just told him that or how calmly he delivered the message. However, Peter had to remain kind and respectful; this man did save his life. But Peter was still having a hard time thinking that this polite man was also Deadpool, the mercenary who had unexpectedly saved his life while flirting with him.
“Um Wade, thanks again… for everything,”
“Yep, no problem. Anytime.”
Right then, the nurse came into the room. Wade realized it was time for him to leave so he extended his hand out to shake Peter’s as a way of saying goodbye. He did not expect Peter to pull him into a tight hug. Peter did not fully no why he had done that either.
‘Did I just hug him? I really hope it wasn't out of pity or anything!’ Peter thought.
‘Did he just hug me! I really hope it wasn't out of pity or anything!’ Wade thought.
Wade made his way to the door, he looked back at Peter.
“Bye, Peter.” he waved.
“Bye, Wade.” Peter responded.
But before Wade could walk out the door, Peter stopped him.
“Oh! Hey, um Wade… can we… would you… mind… maybe… do you want to… um… get coffee tomorrow… with me… maybe?”
Peter was startled at how long it had taken him to form that simple question, or how nervous he was when asking Wade. He legitimately did not know why he was so hesitant today. Maybe it had something to do with Wade. Suddenly Peter remembered the nurse was in the room.
‘Please say yes, I don't want to look like a doof in front the nurse! Why is this so embarrassing?!’ Peter thought.
“Um… sure. I can pick you up at like 3… if that's okay with you… and your aunt.”
“Yep, sounds great! See you then.”
“Bye, Peter.”
“Bye, Wade.”
As Wade left the room, the nurse looked at Peter with a raised eyebrow.
“What was all that about?”
“Uh… nothing.”
“You and Wade hittin’ it up at the coffee shop?” she joked.
“What?! No! Nothing like that!” Peter replied, shocked at the sudden change of personality from the nurse, “Plus, I-I have a girlfriend.”
“Uh-huh…”
“Well… used to…”
“Yep, alright… whatever you say,” the nurse laughed as she gave Peter his medicine.
Peter took it and laid down in his bed again. He began to rest.
“3 o’clock, eh?”
“Please stop,"
Peter was blushing furiously now. But all Peter could think about was what it would be like tomorrow, and if Wade would actually show Peter his face this time. Peter had so many questions, but he knew Wade would not be comfortable answering half of them. He just had to wait and find out, but with all his curiosity eating him up, he did not know if he would last.
Chapter Text
The next day, Peter woke up early; it was a Monday. He looked around; he wasn’t in the hospital anymore. He was back in his comfy room at home, in his soft bed, with actual clothes on. He took a deep breath in and out and stretched. He hadn’t gotten a proper sleep last night, but he was happy to be back.
Last night was the night they discharged Peter from the S.H.I.E.L.D. The doctor had run a couple more tests on him with the help of the nurse and had given him a prescription. They were all standing outside the door to Peter’s previous hospital room, Peter and Aunt May were getting ready to leave… that is, if the doctor had good news.
“Take this one twice day and this one after lunch, okay?” the doctor told Peter.
“‘Kay, got it,” Peter answered.
“Don’t worry, doctor, I’ll remind him,” Aunt May piped in.
“Peter, grow up!” the nurse jokingly scolded, “I can’t believe your aunt does everything for you!”
“What?! No!”
They all shared a good, hearty laugh.
“Well, Peter. Everything looks good! Your wounds seemed to have healed up along with the damage caused by Electro’s shocks. It’s safe to say you can go home now.”
“That’s great news, doctor! Thank you so much!” Aunt May squealed.
She could not contain her excitement, her eyes beamed and her smile stretched from ear to ear.
“You might wanna take it down a notch, May!” the nurse laughed.
“I’m sorry, it’s just that this is so great , you now?”
“Yes, I know. But Peter will still have to have regular check-ups here and there to see the progress of the medicine. And if you have questions or concerns, don’t be afraid to contact us. We’re always here for you!” the nurse informed.
“Great…” Peter sighed. He was just about to leave when Aunt May stopped him.
“Peter…? What do you say ?”
“Oh! Um, sorry… thank you for everything.” Peter told the doctor and nurse.
“Yeah… I wasn’t wrong about your aunt doing everything,” the nurse replied sarcastically.
“Hey! I-I forgot , that’s all…”
“Uh-huh… you keep telling yourself that,” the nurse said cheekily, “Goodbye, webhead. And stay outta trouble.”
“Auf Wiedersehen!”
“Is that like, German?”
As Peter and his aunt were nearing the exit of the helicarrier, the nurse called out after them.
“Oh! And have fun on that date , ‘Spider-babe’!”
“You know about the name too ?! Ugh!” Peter yelled as he exited the aircraft.
“Peter?! You have a date ?” Aunt May followed him, curious to know the details.
But Peter suspected she wasn’t going to like them. Besides, it wasn’t actually a ‘date’... at least to him it wasn’t.
That is why Peter did not get good sleep. It had nothing to do with his injuries and wounds, but it definitely had something to do with Wade. Peter could not stop thinking about what his words and how different he was from the Deadpool he knew. All he could focus on was how their meeting this afternoon was going to go… and what Aunt May had said when she found out.
They were in the car, on the way home from the helicarrier. It was dark, Peter was driving with Aunt May by his side.
“So, Peter… a date ?”
“No, it’s not a-”
“And you didn’t even tell me ?”
“Aunt May-”
“And who is it with, anyway?”
“It’s not a-”
“And how does the nurse know? Did you tell her?”
“It’s-”
“So you told her and not me… I see how it is!”
“Aunt May please listen to me!” Peter finally managed to speak without Aunt May cutting him off.
“Aunt May, it’s not a date, okay? I’m just meeting Wade tomorrow so we can talk some more, that’s all,”
“Then-then how does she know?”
“She was in the room when I asked Wade, and it’s not a date. She’s just… being herself.”
“So you asked Wade out?”
“Aunt May, it’s not a date !”
“Okay! I get it, that’s not even what I asked you. You don’t have to keep bringing it up… unless it is a date!”
“Ugh!”
“I’m just messin’ with ya, Petey. Relax…”
Aunt May turned on the radio and started humming to a random song she didn’t even know.
‘I guess aunts are meant to be this weird and nosy…’ Peter thought.
Peter freshened up and brushed his teeth in the bathroom, the thoughts still running wild in his mind. He changed into fresh clothes and packed his bag. He was getting ready for his first day back at school. He would meet Wade right after.
He went downstairs where he was greeted by a cheerful Aunt May who was obviously happy to have her nephew back, safe and sound.
“Good morning, Peter,” she waved, “You ready for school?”
“Uh…”
“What's wrong?”
“Just… uh…” Peter hesitated, “What will they think? Or even say, when they see me back at school? It was all over the news! They know who I am!”
“Peter calm down, it would be that bad. I mean, what was it like when you first went to school after Summer break?”
“Uh… it wasn't so bad… I think I see your point.”
“That's my boy,” Aunt May encouraged, “Well you better start eating your breakfast ‘cause you gotta leave soon, Peter!”
“Oh, right!”
“And when should I expect to see you again today?”
“I… I think it would be safe to say that I'll be home around 5,”
“Okay sweetie… now start eating !”
Nearly five minutes later, Peter was out the front door.
Peter was greeted by a crowd near the front gates of his school. They were all so happy to see him alive and well after everything they had heard on the news. Everybody was smiling, hugging him, shaking his hand, patting him on the back, asking him if he was okay, they were all relieved to see him back and school; for all they knew, Peter could have saved them. Mary Jane wouldn't let go of him and Harry wouldn't leave his side. Ava, Luke, Danny, and Sam were surrounding them, conveying their happiness. Flash was there too who, along with Sam, was unusually nice… again.
“Peter! It's so good to have you back… alive!” Mary Jane exclaimed, “We were so worried!”
“Yeah! I was literally biting my nails when the news was on!” Harry added.
“We're glad you're safe, and that the doctors were able to treat you,” Ava said with a grin.
“Thank you so much guys, and all your cards were so nice! Thank you!”
“No thank you , for being the amazing Spider-Man !” MJ corrected.
“I prefer ultimate, but you're welcome,” Peter mumbled.
They laughed as the crowd started to clear. They made their way inside the building; Peter, MJ, Harry, Ava, Luke, Danny, and Sam began conversing like they had in the past. That meant that Sam had turned into his old self again…
“So, webhead , how'd you get ass in trouble?”
“Well, Buckethead , it was actually because of you - I mean my S.H.I.E.L.D. team . They suggested we chase after Wa- I mean Deadpool after he allegedly assassinated Jameson…” and he went on to tell the whole story and even how Wa- Deadpool was part of S.H.I.E.L.D.
“...But you can’t tell anybody! He needs to be undercover so he can approach enemies as a well-known mercenary than a S.H.I.E.L.D. angent.”
“‘Kay,” they replied simultaneously, still somewhat shocked by the news.
The bell rang, signalling the start of school; they were all late. They split apart, running to their lockers, saying their goodbyes.
All through school, the only thing Peter could think about was his “date” with Wade this afternoon. He was… nervous. He still needed to get used to “Wade” instead of “Deadpool”. But he didn’t want it to be as awkward as their encounter after the Electro incident. Oh my, and the fact that is was so awkward and embarrassing when Peter tried to ask Wade to meet him at the coffee shop!
Peter was so deep in thought that he did not notice his chemistry teacher asking him a question to answer in front of the whole class.
“Mr. Parker!”
Peter was startled out of his day-dreaming.
“Huh… wha-what?” Peter said, dazed.
“Answer the question on the board, please!”
“Uh,” Peter took a quick glance at the board and answered, “2?”
“Um… that is correct , Mr. Parker. But next time I would appreciate you not staring at my newly polished windows, but actually pay attention , okay?”
The class laughed for a bit; turns out things hadn’t completely changed now since the whole school knew Peter Parker was their “friendly neighborhood Spider-Man”.
Peter spent the rest of the day absent-minded until his last period. School ended at 2:30 and all he could focus on was the clock. It seemed like years before the bell finally rung. Peter didn’t stop at his locker or to say bye to his friends and he walked home as fast as he could without looking like he was in a hurry.
“What happened to him ?” MJ asked Ava.
“I dunno… I guess it’s just Peter being weird?” Ava shrugged.
They watched as Peter disappeared past the gates.
When Peter reached home, he burst through the door completely out of breath. It had taken him fifteen minutes of vigorous walking to reach in time. He had to get ready; Wade would be here soon. He rushed, stopping very quickly to say hello to his aunt. Then he ran upstairs, took off his shirt and looked for something to wear. But he couldn’t. Why was he so nervous?
‘Oh my gosh, stop it Peter. Snap out of it, just find something to wear. A nice shirt maybe? It’s not a date, stop thinking too much!’ he scolded himself.
Peter’s face was red from exhaustion and nervousness, it was getting the best of him. He figured he should just ask Aunt May for help. So he walked downstairs, calming himself, not having heard the doorbell ring.
“Hello Wade, nice to see you again,” Aunt May said while opening the door.
“Nice to see you too,” Wade was wearing another dark hoodie and some dark jeans and shoes.
“Please, come in,”
But right as Aunt May said that, Peter was coming down the stairs, shirtless. He had chiseled muscles and abs which were slightly pink now.
“Aunt May, can you help-” then he noticed Wade standing right next to her and instantly his face turned bright red.
“Uh, Wade,” Peter started, “I… I… Igottago!”
Peter frantically covered his body with his hands and sprinted up the stairs. He was so embarrassed. Aunt May excused herself from the room and quickly followed Peter up the stairs. Peter was in his room, sitting on his bed, his head in his hands, mumbling something.
“Peter?” Aunt May asked as she came in.
“Ah! That was so embarrassing ! I-I didn’t hear the doorbell and I wanted to ask you for help and-and he was there and I didn’t see him and he saw me and-and ah!”
“Peter, relax,” Aunt May patted his head, “if you want me to find you something to wear, you could’ve just told me the moment you walked, or ran, in through the door.”
“Wha…? How-how did you know?”
“Women know everything, trust me,”
They laughed a little then realized Wade was still waiting downstairs; Aunt May got to work.
She was able to dress Peter in around five minutes. She picked some nice black jeans, a pair of blueish-black shoes, a white t-shirt, and a blue faux denim button-up shirt and rolled up the sleeves. Peter grabbed his phone and wallet and put it into his front jeans pockets.
They went downstairs together and when Wade saw them, his eyes widened a little. Peter looked… good.
“S-s-sorry that took so long, and that... you had to see me… like that,”
“No, you’re fine, no worries,” Wade blurted out, “You ready?”
“Yep,”
“Let’s go,”
“Okay,”
They walked towards the door. Peter turned around and waved goodbye to Aunt May; she waved back and told them to have a nice time.
They walked down the street to where a shiny, black car was parked. It looked like a BMW but there was no way of telling since whatever logo sign it had was taken off.
“No taxi this time?” Peter asked jokingly.
Wade chuckled, “Unfortunately no, Dopinder couldn’t make it,”
When they reached the car, Wade opened the passenger side door and politely gestured for Peter to climb in.
“Thanks,”
“Yep,”
Wade got in on the driver’s side and they took off for the coffee shop.
“You look… nice,” Wade said as he glanced at Peter at a stop sign.
“Th-thank you,” Peter said shyly.
Peter took a glimpse at Wade and tried to say something nice back. He opened his mouth but no words came out, so he went back to staring out the window.
They reached the coffee shop in another five minutes; Wade parked the car in a paid-parking across the street. They walked to the coffee shop and went inside; they picked a table for two and sat down. Peter could feel the nervousness begin to rise again and quickly tried to unnoticeably cover his reddening face. He calmed down and turned back to Wade. He wanted to say something but he couldn’t find the words, so he tried small, casual talk first.
“So, Wade, how was your day?”
“It was good, thank you for asking. How was yours?”
“Great, thanks,” Peter replied, “So, what are you getting?”
“Uh… I think I’m gonna get an espresso. You?”
“I’m probably gonna get the um… vanilla latte,”
They called the waitress over; Peter came here pretty often, especially with Aunt May, so she was delighted to see him.
“Oh hello Peter! Haven’t seen you in a while. What have you been up to?”
“Hey Nancy. You know, just school and… other stuff. How are you?”
“I’m fine! By other stuff you mean… being a superhero and all that jazz…”
“Um, sure,”
“Cool! So, who’s the date?”
“Why does everyone keep saying that?!”
“I mean it’s 2016 and there’s nothing wrong with,”
“But it’s not a date. Nancy this is Wade; Wade, Nancy. And we are not dating.”
“Okay, okay, sorry… hey Wade”
“Hello Nancy,” Wade said with a smile.
That’s when Nancy saw his skin and got a little less comfortable.
“Uh… uh… wha-what can I get you?” she asked trying to avoid eye contact with Wade.
Peter noticed this and quickly told her the orders, trying to get them out of the awkward situation as soon as possible. Nancy hurried away behind the counter and started making the drinks. Peter slowly looked at Wade.
“Uh, sorry about that,”
“Don’t be sorry, Nancy seems really nice and it wasn’t her fault when she assumed you and I-”
“-No, not about that,”
Peter’s response caught Wade off guard until he realized what Peter was mentioning. He had seen the look on Nancy’s face many times before so it didn’t affect him as much now.
“Oh, that… yeah it’s fine, I get that a lot,”
“But… it-it’s not fine. That’s kinda rude,”
“Peter, I’m serious, it’s fine.”
“But-” Peter spoke as he reached out and placed his hand on Wade’s hand, which was on the table, without realization. His eyes widened.
“-oh, sorry,” Peter said while quickly removed his hand. They were both blushing now.
Soon the drinks arrived with a not-so-delightful Nancy serving them. They started drinking, never breaking eye contact.
“Do you have any interests? You know, other than your job and stuff?” Peter tried to make conversation.
“Well, I guess I like working out, and I love music.”
“What type of music?”
“Basically everything, but I guess some old, some new,”
“Like what?”
“Uh… why are you so curious all of a sudden?”
“Uh… I… um…”
“No I’m just kiddin’. I guess you could say old school hip hop and classics. I’m kinda into recent pop music as well, from a lot of other countries too…”
“That’s cool. You’re a lot like Aunt May then,”
“How so?”
“Oh, you know, she’s loves the classics and she’s really into K-pop for some reason,”
“Oh, ha ha… what about you?”
“I just listen to whatever’s on the radio,”
They cracked up into a little and pleasant laugh.
Soon Nancy came back with their check for the two drinks.
“Here’s the check,” she said as she laid the small folder on their table, “That’s $5.98 for the two drinks.”
Wade and Peter both stared at the bill and before Nancy could say anything, Peter put a $10 bill and Wade placed his credit card on the the table. Realizing they didn’t know who was going to pay, they both urged on paying for the coffees.
“No, it’s okay Wade, I’ll pay.”
“No, Peter. I insist.”
“Do you just wanna split the bill then?” Nancy asked.
“Uh…” they both answered.
“Yeah that would be… um…” Peter hesitated.
“Great. That would be great.” Wade finished his sentence.
“So… that’ll be… $2.99 from each of you,”
They payed for the coffees equally and got up to leave. Peter said goodbye to Nancy which was returned with an unenthusiastic smile. Peter was unhappy with the way Nancy was acting towards Wade; it surprised him because he thought of her as a caring and accepting person. He wanted to confront her but he didn’t want to do it in front of Wade to make the situation more awkward; maybe another time.
Wade and Peter walked to Wade’s car and got in. They sat their for a while in utter silence until Wade spoke up.
“So, what do you want to do now?”
“I dunno, we have like an hour left till I have to be home,”
“What time is it?”
“Like, 4,”
“Do you wanna just… I dunno… talk?”
“Uh… sure,”
“Maybe that way we’ll get to know each other a little better. That's why we arranged this, right?”
“Yeah… let's start with easy questions then… favorite color?”
Wade and Peter talked about their favorite things for a while which slowly progressed into Peter’s life after the numerous times he had brought up Aunt May.
"What were your parents like? You know... before they um... died... if you don't mind me asking...?"
“I… don't really remember my parents. For me, it's always been Aunt May and Uncle Ben,”
“Uncle Ben…?”
“Yeah… he was like a father to me before he… was killed,”
“Oh, I'm so sorry… I… I shouldn't have asked,”
“No, you're fine… if it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be who I am today… Spider-Man."
Chapter Text
There were sitting in the car; they hadn't moving from their parking spot. They were in silence, not wanting to darken the mood even further. Peter had just told Wade bits of his personal life, like his parents and his aunt and uncle. But Wade wasn't sure he wanted to share any of his own personal life yet, though he knew Peter had the right to know now.
Peter didn't want to ask Wade questions that were too personal for him to answer, but there was one question that was burning in his head. What's wrong with Wade’s skin? He had mentioned having cancer before but he doubted cancer would have left that big an impact. It had to be something else, some other reason Wade hadn't told Peter yet; Peter’s curiosity was killing him.
To remove the heavy coat of sadness that had just fallen upon them, Wade turned on the radio with the volume on low, he hoped it wouldn't be awkward. The radio turned on the station that Wade had last listened to, which just so happened to be a K-pop station.
“Oh cool, K-pop,” Wade exclaimed.
“I've never really listened to K-pop before,” Peter admitted, sheepishly smiling.
“Well, this is your chance,” Wade smiled back.
“Nae pi ddam nunmul, nae majimak chumeul da, gajyeoga… ga…”
BTS’s “Blood, Sweat, & Tears” was on.
“Hey, this isn't so bad. He has a pretty good voice,”
“See, I told you,”
"Oh, and there's rapping to?"
“Peaches and cream, sweeter than sweet, chocolate cheeks, chocolate wings…”
Before they knew it, they were singing and dancing along to the song, this definitely lightened up the mood. They continued for the next few songs and finally when they got exhausted, they had to call it quits. Peter was laughing so hard, he began to tear up; his stomach hurt badly too.
“Okay! Okay! Stop… ah!” he was clutching his stomach with a bright smile but timid smile.
“Okay… breathe,” Wade chuckled, “This reminds me of the time you laughed really hard when I fell from your window. Ha ha ha…”
“Yeah, but you deserved it,” Peter pointed out.
They laughed some more until the joke finally died out. They sighed.
“Hey Peter?”
“Yeah,”
“What time is it?”
“It’s like, 4:15. We still have 45 minutes, why?”
“Do you wanna… go somewhere?”
“What? Where?”
“It’s sorta a surprise,”
“Uh… sure I guess,”
“Great,”
Wade started the car and they drove for five minutes. They stopped outside a Taco Bell, Peter was confused. They parked in the parking lot and Wade got out.
“Wait right here. I’ll be back soon, I promise.” Wade assured.
“I believe you,” Peter giggled, still puzzled.
Wade shut the door and went inside the fast-food restaurant; he came out with a small paper bag. When Wade got back in the car, Peter opened his mouth to speak but Wade silenced him and started to drive again.
In about another five more minutes, they reached a park. It was a nice and beautiful park and it wasn’t too big. It was very peaceful with a small playground for children, a couple fountains here and there, and a lot of field and benches possibly for picnics. Wade parked the car, got out, and opened Peter’s door. He held Peter’s hand, the paper bag in the other, and told him to come with him. Then he let go. They walked into the park.
“This is where I usually come to think or get things off of my mind. It’s also a great place to run, listen to music, or just relax,” Wade informed.
“It looks lovely,” Peter looked around and marveled at the park’s simplicity but how it still remained to look natural and untouched.
“I was thinking we could, you know, walk around and stuff,” Wade interrupted Peter’s wandering thoughts.
“Oh, that sounds good,”
Then Peter remembered the paper bag; he looked and pointed at it with a questioning face.
“Oh, this is my favorite thing to eat when I’m hungry,” Wade said as he pulled a box from the bag. He crumpled the bag, stuffed it in his pocket, and slowly began to open the box which contained one single hot chimichanga.
“A chimichanga? From Taco Bell? Seriously?” Peter questioned.
“What? They’re good .” Wade complained.
“Alright, alright, I’m not one to judge.”
“It’s for you, by the way,”
“For me? But what about you?”
“I’m fine, here.” Wade handed Peter the box.
“Thank you, but are you sure you don’t want it? I mean, it is your favorite right?”
“I’m fine, I got it for you so you can eat it if you want,”
They sat down on the nearest bench and Peter started to eat the chimichanga. After a couple bites, he spoke.
“Not gonna lie, but this isn’t too bad. Are you trying to get me to try and like new things today, ‘cause it’s working!”
“Ha ha ha ha…”
“Are you sure you don’t want any of it though?”
“Eh… it’s pretty small anyway. And I should probably stick to my diet and not break it like those hundred other times.”
Peter giggled.
“Your… your laugh…”
“What about it?”
“It’s kinda cute…”
Peter’s face turned a deep crimson. Heart beating rapidly, he looked away. He quietly murmured a simple “thanks”, too embarrassed to look Wade in the face. But he slowly turned back and looked at Wade’s covered face.
“Th-thank you,” he said louder this time.
“You’re welcome,” Wade responded.
Without realizing what he was doing, Peter’s hand reached up to Wade’s face and slowly pulled Wade’s hood back. Wade was in shock, so much shock that he wasn’t able to react. His face was now exposed, the one he had desperately been trying to hide from Peter or the public. Peter stared at Wade’s scarred skin, eyes covering every single inch. He did not react in the way most people did when they saw Wade for the first time. Wade still had no words.
“Wha… wh-what are you-”
Wade started to say but was cut off by Peter’s fingers running along the sides of his face. Peter let his fingers roam Wade’s scars and scratches, his mind completely taken over by curiosity. His eyes wandered up and down Wade’s face as his fingers traced the patterns. He was no longer in control of his actions. Then their eyes met and Peter’s mind returned from it’s exile. Peter was beyond embarrassed and he quickly removed his hands from Wade’s face, struggling for words.
“Oh my gosh! I’m… so sorry. I-I didn’t know what I was thinking, actually I wasn’t thinking.. I should have never done that, I so sorry Wade. I understand if you just want me to… leave now,” Peter gushed.
Wade didn’t respond, he was still startled from everything that had just taken place. Blood had rushed to his face, nothing he could think of had ever made him feel this way.
“Wade?” Peter asked quietly, scared of the possible response.
But then Peter realized something, Wade hadn’t stopped him until Peter backed off.
“Wh-why didn’t you stop me?”
Wade was in the spotlight now; he knew he had to answer Peter’s questions otherwise it would make matters worse but he couldn’t bring himself to say anything.
Suddenly a crowd full of paparazzi, reporters, cameramen, and fans started to approach the two on the bench. They were shouting at Peter, begging for answers to every question. Peter was used to paparazzi now ever since his identity was revealed, especially before and after school, but it still surprised him to have people following him around town with bright lights and cameras. But this time was different, Wade was here.
Seeing all the people gathering around them and taking pictures, Wade had pulled his hoodie back down and got up from the bench. Then saying a quick goodbye to Peter, he turned and started to walk away, out of the park. Some of the people started to follow Wade, asking him questions like what was he doing in the park with Peter and why was Peter touching his face, but this made Wade walk faster and faster to his car so the people returned to the crowd around Peter. Wade took one last glance at Peter before he drove away.
Peter was stuck in the middle of the crowd, people surrounding him all around. Pictures were being taken and couple people were recording as well. He tried calling out for Wade but she couldn’t see where Wade had gone with the crowd on top of him.
“Please, leave me, I need to go.” Peter pleaded but the crowd wouldn’t move.
“Peter, where is Jameson now?”
“Peter, who was the guy in the red and black mask?”
“Peter, who is the guy you were with now?”
“Were you on a date?!”
The crowd immediately burst into a frenzy of questions regarding Peter and Wade at the park.
“Why were you here with him?”
“Why were you touching him?”
“Why was his faced so scarred?”
“Does he have a disease?”
“Why did he leave?”
“Was is really a date?”
“Do you like him?”
“Are you gay?”
Peter’s eyes widened in shock of how straightforward the questions were and how impolite the crowd was to ask them. He was sick of the harsh comments but he was scared that if he showed that he cared, the crowd would want to know more and more and the questions wouldn’t stop coming. So he got up and stepped out of the circle surrounding, the crowd following his every move.
“Please, leave me alone.” he cried as he started to walked swiftly away from the crowd.
When he noticed the crowd wouldn’t do as he had told them to, he decided to go to high grounds. Everyone knew he was Spider-Man, so what was there to hide.
Peter shot his webs and started to swing away, high among the buildings of New York, leaving the crowd in the dust. He honestly couldn’t bear to hear them say anything regarding Wade. He wondered where Wade was now; he looked down to find that Wade’s car was nowhere to be seen.
‘He probably left to go back home, wherever that may be,’ Peter thought.
When he was halfway and he was sure nobody was following him, he started to walk the rest of the journey. As he slowly approached his house, he noticed something. Aunt May was outside the house in front of the door, but a larger number of people were all around her.
‘Oh no,’ Peter thought as he slowly approached the house.
News must have traveled fast as another set of paparazzi and news reporters were at his house. Then one of the crowd members spotted him and started running towards him, the others on his tail. They were asking the same questions as before but Peter would have no more of it. Before the crowd could say anything else, Peter grabbed Aunt May and swiftly made his way into the house, shutting and locking the door behind him. He closed all the windows and drew all the curtains; he didn’t want any more pictures taken. He was doing this to protect his aunt… that’s what he thought he was doing it for. Or was he just doing this to protect himself? What if he was trying to protect Wade…?
Chapter Text
Aunt May was sitting on the couch while Peter kept roaming the house, checking the windows and doors, making sure the paparazzi and reporters had left. He looked very anxious and scared but he didn’t want to show it; he tried to keep a strong face on for his aunt.
“Peter, I’m sure they’ve all left by now,”
“How can you be so sure? They could be… hiding behind a bush or something!”
“Peter, it’s 8 o’clock, you came home 3 hours ago.”
“But-”
“Calm down, come sit next to me,”
Peter hesitated. He wanted to be a hundred percent sure his aunt was safe.
“Peter, sit down.”
He gave in and timidly went and sat himself next to Aunt May.
“I think… we may need to have a talk, Peter,”
“About what?”
Suddenly, Aunt May looked uneasy.
“About… the questions,” she spoke.
“What?” Peter asked confused.
“The questions the reporters were asking,”
“Oh, those questions. Well… I can assure you more than half those questions were… made up or something.They’re not true,”
“Are you sure?”
“Ye-yeah…”
“Or is there something you’re not telling me… Peter,”
“What do you mean?” Peter gulped, he feared what would come out his aunt’s mouth next.
“Was… was that really… a date? With Wade?”
“What? N-no! No! It wasn’t like that at all! I just… we just hung out! H-Had coffee! Talked! N-nothing else!”
“Oh… okay,”
There was an awkward silence between the two like many other times. Neither one knew what to say to fill the space.
Finally, Aunt May spoke.
“It’s-it’s getting a little late… how ‘bout some dinner to get our minds off things? Hmm?”
“Um… that sounds nice,” Peter sighed with a smile.
The sat together at the dining table and started to eat in silence. It was unusual for them to be this quiet, especially at shared meals. However this time, they each felt that it was best to remain silent. Besides, what was left to say?
Actually, there was a whole lot left to say. But the thoughts were sealed deep in their minds, neither of the two knowing how to even say them. So it was a peaceful dinner, which still tasted good.
Peter decided to go to sleep after that. Today had been quite a day; he needed a rest. So he said “good night” to his Aunt and climbed up the stairs to his room. He changed his clothes, brushed his teeth, and then packed everything he needed for school tomorrow. He lied down on his bed and closed his eyes, trying to sleep, but for some reason, he couldn’t. Something was troubling his mind, but he couldn’t pinpoint what exactly. So he decided to open the window to let in fresh air, thinking maybe that would help. But as he removed the curtains, he was left in complete and utter shock.
“Deadpool?!” Peter silently shrieked.
“Petey!” Deadpool, who was in full costume, responded while swinging his legs on the windowsill.
“What are you doing here?!” Peter asked, still surprised, as he opened the window.
“Why, can I not see my friends once in awhile?” Deadpool questioned innocently, cupping his own face in his hands.
“You literally just saw me 4 hours ago!”
“But the paparazzi ruined it~!” Deadpool complained.
“Wade, please leave. I have school tomorrow!” Peter informed.
“Aw, but I thought you wanted to know why I didn’t stop you!”
“Stop me from wha-”
Then it hit him. Wade was talking about this evening when Peter had asked him why Wade hadn’t stopped him from touching his face.
“Um, that’s alright Wade. If-if you’re not comfortable with it, you don’t have to tell me. Besides, I never should ha-”
Peter immediately stopped talking when Wade briskly took off his mask, revealing the same scarred face Peter had seen before. Only this time, Wade was smiling.
“Wade, you don’t have to-”
Peter was cut off again when Wade’s lips touched his. His eyes widened as Wade kissed him, he just sat there, startled. Finally, Peter harshly pushed Wade off. Big mistake. Wade fell from the windowsill into the rosebushes yet again. Peter couldn’t contain his laughter despite what had just happened before. He laughed harder as Wade got up with a butt decorated in thorns. Wade flipped Peter off and cursed under his breath as he left the house. Peter let out his last giggles and calmed down; he sighed and closed the window.
Peter lied down on his bed again. He tried to sleep but he couldn’t even close his eyes without thinking about the kiss.
‘Why did Wade do that?’ he asked himself, ‘He knows that I don’t like him like that! Still, why did he… kiss me?’
He spent the whole night pondering about the incident, still unable to figure out his own feelings over it. He didn’t like the kiss, but he didn’t hate it either...
Chapter Text
“Peter, hurry! They’re gonna get her!”
“Get who?”
“What do you mean who?! They’ve almost got Ellie!”
“Ellie?”
“Baby boy, you can’t be fucking serious! Our daughter Eleanor! Now come here fast!”
“What?! What daughter? What’s going on?!”
But before Wade could reply, there was a huge explosion on the other end of the line.
“Hello? Hello?! Wade?! Wade what happened?! Are you okay?! Answer me! Answer me Wade! Wade?! Wade! Wade! Wade…”
Peter suddenly woke from his dream and sat up. Sweat was trickling down his forehead and chest. He was panting. He had no idea what the dream meant or why it even occurred. But he did know that it scared the heck out of him and he was now a complete mess.
He checked himself and looked in the mirror. He needed a shower. He checked the time; it was only four in the morning.
‘Eh, being early never hurt!’ he thought to himself as he entered the bathroom.
As he undressed, he thought back to how he had even managed to fall asleep when he wasn’t able to before. He remembered being awake for the most part… after Wade had kissed him. His thoughts from the night returned to him.
‘Why did he even do that? What are his feelings for me? Was he even serious, or is he just toying with me?’ he asked himself again while stepping into the hot shower, the water hitting his face and body. ‘Is that why I had a dream… about him?' Peter's mind started to wander but then he stopped himself, 'Peter, what is wrong with you?!’
Around five minutes, he stepped out of the shower and dried himself, wrapping the towel around the lower half of his body. He walked back into his room, putting on his underwear while picking out clothes for school. A simple button-down, a white t-shirt underneath, and jeans seemed enough for today. He put them on and left the shirt unbuttoned; this was usually the type of outfit he wore to school as he couldn’t be bothered to try a new style.
Peter fell down on his bed and lazily picked up his phone from his bed-side table. Even though he was a superhero, he still had a social life. He scrolled through his twitter feed only to find repetitive tweets… about him! They all said stuff about Spider-Man or Peter being gay!
‘What?! Where is this even coming from?!’ he thought to himself.
He started to check his other social medias and was shocked to find the same results. There were even articles about it. Then he saw a message that was sent to him around 2 that morning. It was from Harry, he usually stayed up pretty late; Peter read it.
“Dude! What is this?!” it read, there was even a video attached. Peter clicked on it.
It took him a few minutes to realize what it was because of the bad quality. It was taken when Wade had visited his bedroom window last night. The video captured the quick kiss, Peter pushing Wade, Wade falling, and Peter laughing. Peter let it sink in; this was what the whole world was talking about.
Suddenly he saw that Harry had just sent him another message. Harry must’ve seen him online.
“Is there something you haven’t been telling me?”
Peter didn’t know how to respond.
“Are you really… gay?”
Peter’s breath hitched, his mind went blank. He wasn’t sure of what to do. For all he knew, everyone around the world could have seen that video. He really needed to be more careful. He knew the paparazzi still would have been there, he should have stopped Wade and told him to leave before anything had ever happened.
“Peter, I know you read my message! Please answer me!”
Peter didn’t answer and instead clicked on an article with the title “SPIDER-MAN IS GAY?” and started to read it.
Peter Parker, who is better known as the Ultimate Spider-Man, was seen kissing his alleged boyfriend before pushing him off the windowsill. No one is sure who this mystery man is but from what everyone can see from the video taken by hidden paparazzi, it is definitely a male. He also seems to be wearing a red and black costume or suit of some sort. We are also wondering if this was the same man seen with Parker earlier yesterday in the park. Further details are yet to be confirmed as paparazzi are currently trying to get a hold of Peter Parker outside his house. So the question that everyone has, is Spider-Man gay?
Peter was dazed after he let everything sink in. Soon, he snapped back to reality and only then did he notice the heaps of paparazzi waiting outside his home. Luckily, his aunt was a heavy sleeper, otherwise she would’ve been awake by now. He continued secretly looking out his window until he heard his watch beep. It was a message from S.H.I.E.L.D.
“Team meeting - report to the helicarrier, NOW!”
Peter sighed. He was nervous for what Fury or his teammates had to say to them, all of them must have seen the news by now. What was he even going to say? And more importantly, how was he going to leave his house unnoticed. He thought of a plan.
Peter opened his window, careful to hide himself behind a dummy dressed in his Spider-Man costume.
“Hey look over there! It’s Spider-Man! He finally decided to show himself!” people shouted down below from the crowd of paparazzi.
This was it, his plan had to work. From behind the dummy, Peter shot a web to a building and attached the other end to the dummy’s arm. He pushed the dummy out of the window and immediately hid from the sight of the paparazzi. Luckily they did not spot him and blindly began to follow the dummy, which was now swinging in the air through the dark sky, to the building while shouting questions and phrases.
Peter began to put another costume on himself before quietly sneaking out of the back of the house and he made his way to the helicarrier. He needed to be fast since the paparazzi would soon return after realizing they had been tricked… yet again.
“Hello Spider-Man, Fury would like you to meet in his room of course,” Coulson greeted as Peter entered the helicarrier in his costume.
He couldn’t see it but Coulson knew that Peter was nervous behind that mask. He lead Peter to Fury’s room and opened the door. Peter slowly went in to see his whole team, quietly sitting at the long table, with Fury at the head. The expression on Fury’s face looked… disturbed. Peter slightly nodded his head as he walked to a seat and sat down in silence. Coulson closed the door as his left. No one said anything for awhile; Peter started to get more nervous and started to play with his fingers while looking down. Suddenly, Fury spoke up.
“Good morning, team! I’m sure you all are wondering why I called this sudden meeting. I have a feeling most of you may already know, Peter especially. Would you care to explain, Mr. Parker?”
Peter uneasily looks up from his hands and makes eye contact with Fury through his mask.
“I-I don’t know what you’re t-talking about…” Peter mumbles, mentally slapping himself for stuttering.
“Oh, I’m sure you do… or would a video help you remember?” Fury mockingly teased.
“I…” Peter gulped, “I think I g-get it now,”
His teammates looked at him for the first time since he entered the room. They waited patiently for more words to come of Peter’s mouth… but they never did. Peter didn’t know what to say. How was he going to explain that he had been hanging out with Wade recently and how the awkward situation in the park came about? How was he going to explain how Wade has surprised him at his window later that day and surprisingly kissed him? How was he going to explain that the paparazzi had captured almost all of these moments and they were now floating around the internet for everyone to see?
“Peter, you can speak now,” Fury reminded, “otherwise I’ll do it for you,”
Before Peter could say anything to stop him, Fury had began talking again.
Chapter Text
“...and that is why we need your help, Peter.” Fury finished.
Peter slowly took in all the information Fury had just spilled and finally nodded.
“Okay… I-I’ll do it,”
“Thank you, Spider-Man. We knew you would,” Fury smiled as he got up from his chair, “Now everyone, get ready! You still have school today!”
The team groaned. They hated emergency meetings like these because they were always early in the morning, even on school days. It made them believe Fury just did it to mess with them. The team began to leave the room.
Just as Fury was about to leave, Peter stopped him with a hand on his shoulder. Fury turned around, feeling the contact, which made Peter slightly flinch and quickly remove his hand.
“Hey um… Fury?”
“Yes Peter?”
“Would it be- can I- um… may I-”
“What is it? Just tell me,”
“Can I stay here? In the helicarrier? Just for a while,”
“And why would you want to do that? You should go home now, school starts in-”
“Th-that’s the thing. The paparazzi… they’re still-”
“Oh… that’s right,” Fury assured, putting his own hand on Peter’s shoulder, “I understand. You can stay, we’ll take of it, but just make sure you still get to school on time.”
“Okay, I will. Thank you,”
“No, thank you ,” Fury corrected as he finally left the room, leaving Peter alone.
Peter sat back down in his chair and began to think. He thought back to the conversation he had just had with Fury and his team. Was the decision he made the right one? Would it hurt Wade? Would it hurt himself ?
“Ever since the day Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool, visited Peter in the S.H.I.E.L.D. hospital, we have lost full contact with him,” Fury began.
Peter’s eyes widened. Did that mean he was the last one to have full contact with Wade… and that too, “physical” contact? He flinched and shook his thoughts away. He focused back on Fury, listening carefully to what else the man had to say about this.
“So, Peter, since you were most recently in contact with Wade, we were wondering if you could report in on him. Meet him occasionally, pose as a companion since you two seem so… close.”
Peter cringed. He knew exactly what Fury meant and he was thankful Fury wasn’t directly mentioning anything, especially in front of his team. Though he suspected them of already knowing because of all the awkward glances he was getting every since he entered the room, he didn’t want to make this even more uncomfortable.
“I-I guess I could,” Peter lied.
“Great! The only reason we are asking you and not doing this ourselves is because there’s a higher chance he will listen to you and not any other agent from S.H.I.E.L.D. We plan to take him back in and this meeting was to give the whole team a ‘heads up’ of the situation at hand. I honestly think this would be the only successful way as of now to get him back and that is why we are thankful for your help, Peter.”
The truth was, Peter didn’t want to do it. He knew if he pretended to have a friendship with Wade only to betray him, it would hurt the other. Wade never really showed the deep side of his emotions, choosing to stay more optimistic. But Peter knew he was hiding something and he could see those emotions resurfacing every time Wade didn’t have his mask on. Peter didn’t like the idea of forced companionship but at the same time he didn’t want Wade to think everything was fake because Peter still liked him… maybe a little bit more than-
“Argh…” Peter groaned in frustration, facepalming himself.
He’d just have to think about this later, right now he had to get ready for school.
After getting dressed, he exited the helicarrier, making sure there were no paparazzi around.
He speedily but silently made his way to school, covering his face with a thin scarf. It was starting to get colder, much to Peter’s advantage since he could use the layers to hide himself from the crowds.
As Peter neared the school entrance, he saw a huge crowd gathered at the gate. News reporters and paparazzi. Usually he would try to push himself past the crowd through the front entrance and was successful a lot of the time due to the advantage he had with his superhuman strength and since the school did not allow them past the gate. But this time was different, the crowd was huge; this wasn’t his every day school paparazzi. He couldn’t be caught by them, he had to get inside without them knowing. So he decided to slip in through the one of the only way he knew how, the back door of the school. He has never done that before so the reporters wouldn’t suspect that… right? Besides, the odds of them even knowing there was a back entrance were pretty low.
With no one having seen him, Peter snuck around to the back of the building and quickly climbed over the gate. He soon found the back door which was almost always never locked; he made his way to it. He turned the handle and pushed, fortunately opening the door slowly. It lead to a room that stored the school’s trash. The smell was familiar to Peter. He used to hide in from his bullies in here, especially when it was Flash chasing him down the hallway. Peter was thankful for this room since it was almost unnoticeable to most people who didn’t know what the purpose for this room was. The stench was almost unbearable which made Peter wonder how he was even able to stay here for long periods of time when he was younger.
The room was located in the back of the school cafeteria so Peter would have to come out of the room unnoticed. The lunch ladies couldn't notice him or else he would be in trouble. Luckily, the school’s principal was Mr. Coulson also known as Phil Coulson, an agent at S.H.I.E.LD. so if Peter did get in trouble, all it would take was some explaining and Coulson hopefully would let him go. But he still needed to be careful.
Peter walked to the door, avoiding as many trash cans and trash bags as he could, and slowly turned the knob. The door opened up to an empty cafeteria with no lunch lady to be seen. Peter figured they were all in the kitchen area already, preparing for today’s meal. So he quietly stepped outside the room and looked around once more before quickly making himself out of the cafeteria and into the school hallway. He clutched his backpack tightly—this was a habit Peter had picked up when he was younger—he would squeeze onto his backpack straps whenever he was nervous and it would usually be around bullies. He glanced around the hallway which was fairly empty since a majority of the students hadn't entered the building yet. He sighed and relaxed a little as he made his way to his locker, ready to start another long day of school. He arrived at his locker and carefully out in his combination, opening it up to reveal neat and organized shelves with the bottom half empty for him to hang his backpack in. Then he noticed something. It was a bright orange piece of paper that sat at the bottom of his locked. Peter never bought or used colored paper so someone may have dropped it in his locker by accident. Or what if it was like last time?
‘Wade…?’ Peter pondered as he bent down and picked up the paper. He opened it up to, displaying messy writing.
‘Yeah, this is most definitely Wade’s…’ Peter sighed as he started to read.
“Midnight, park bench, disguise”
That was all the note said. Peter looked up from the paper, knowing exactly what Wade meant; Wade most likely wanted to talk to him. He’d just have to get through a whole day of school, more paparazzi, and his aunt and then maybe he could sort all of this “drama” out with Wade’s help. That’s at least what he hoped the ex-mercenary wanted to talk about. But Peter had questions of his own to be answered. Why did Wade leave S.H.I.E.L.D. and would he ever come back? Could Peter get him to come back without being too obvious about it?
Just as Peter began to get his stuff and close his locker, a whole bunch of people started to surround him. They were all from his school and must have noticed him on their way in as school would start shortly.They immediately started to bombard Peter with questions, similar to what the reporters had been asking him the day before. Peter felt so violated and angry but scared and so many more emotions mixing into pure frustration. One word that could describe how Peter felt about this whole situation was “hate”.
Just as Peter was about to politely ask everyone to leave him alone, he could hear five booming voices, closing in on him. Before he knew it, he was being pulled.
Chapter Text
“Stay away from Peter!” Harry commanded.
“If you want him, you’ll have to go through us!” Luke shouted.
Ava and Danny were dragging Peter away from the mob as Harry, Luke, and Sam were successfully holding the yelling students back.
“Leave him alone, or we’ll make sure to not leave you alone!” Sam snarled.
Ava and Danny started to run with Peter so they could enter the safety of their first period classroom as soon as possible. Judging by how the students were backing down little by little, Peter was saved for now. As soon as the three of them stepped into the classroom, they sat down at their respective desks and started to breathe normally. They had been panting before after running down the hallway and they could finally relax for the time being. Peter turned to face the two others before speaking.
“Thank you, I appreciate you guys helping me.”
“Don’t thank us, you would've done the same if it was someone else.” Ava responded.
Peter simply nodded and sighed, closing his eyes lazily as he slumped back in his chair.The teacher was in the classroom along with some other students who couldn't care less about the drama outside. Peter was thankful for that.
Peter didn’t realize someone was staring at him until he opened his eyes again to see Mary Jane looking intensely at his face.
“M-Mary Jane! H-hey…?” Peter spoke, surprised.
“Hey Peter… is it okay… if I ask you a question?” Mary Jane asked nervously.
“Uh,” Peter hesitated, “sure, I guess.”
She cleared her throat and took a big breath, opening her mouth again.
“Is all of this… true?”
“W-what?”
“Like, what the reporters are saying or… what I see on the news. Is any of it true?”
“I mean—”
“Peter, are you... g -”
Just then, the classroom door slammed open revealing Harry, Luke, and Sam who quickly took their seats around the rest. Harry spoke first.
“We were able to calm the crowd down a little bit but Peter, you still need to be really careful in the hallways.”
“And the cafeteria.” Luke added.
“People are still gonna torment you, so just stick by us.” Sam stated.
“Wow… when did you get all nice?” Peter remarked, jokingly.
“I’m being serious, Peter.” Sam replied with a stern face.
Peter’s stomach dropped along with the smile that was previously on his face.
“Peter, can we… talk? Like, in private?” Sam continued.
“O-oh… sure.” Peter responded hesitantly.
The two of the moved to the corner of the classroom and faced each other as the rest minded their own business.
“Listen… Peter…” Sam started.
Peter gulped. He already knew the direction of which this conversation was headed in.
“I just need you to answer a few questions… honestly.”
“O-okay.”
Sam then proceeded to clear his throat and move his gaze to his feet. Peter could tell his “friend”—if you could even call him that—was nervous but Sam’s heart was probably not beating as fast as Peter’s was. Sam opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out, which was unusual for him. He slowly lifted his eyes from the ground and made direct eye contact with Peter.
“Is it true– I mean– is there really a thing going on between you… a-and Wade?” Sam stuttered out.
Peter’s face immediately went pale.
“T-there’s no point in lying. Just help us… understand.” Same went on.
“I’m not– we’re not– there’s nothing between us! I swear! It’s all just a misunderstanding!”
“Peter–”
“I’m serious! Everything that happened happened… b-but it didn’t mean anything! A-and besides, it’s Wade Wilson! He does the most random things.”
“Peter, I’m just saying that we all watched the news and we’ve all seen the pictures and videos. We saw what happened and if you’re really trying to lie–”
“I’m not! Didn’t you listen to what I just told you?! Those things did happen but it doesn’t mean anything!" Peter was practically yelling by now so he started to take deep breaths before continuing in a low, steady voice. “Fury said in order for Wade to come back to S.H.I.E.L.D. I have to somehow trick him into it. And I plan on doing just that by sort of… playing along with this. It’s the only way this will all work out, and if Wade finds out… he’s not coming back.”
Peter knew everything he had just told Sam was most likely a lie, but he didn’t care anymore. He just wanted to get through school without his team breathing down his neck. He sat back down in his desk and by this time, the classroom was filled with students who were all looking at him wide-eyed. He was guessing they had overheard most of his conversation with Sam except for when he purposefully lowered his voice at the end.
‘Whatever, at least they might bother me less after hearing that.’ Peter thought to himself as the bell rung, school was in session.
But boy, was he wrong…
First period felt like it went on for eternity. His teacher droned on about some theory Peter only knew about and on top of that, he received weird and disgusted glances from the students sitting all around him. Peter had his head down on his desk for the most part and when he checked his watch for the nth time, the class had five minutes left. He groaned, five whole minutes! He swore more time had gone by but now all he could do was wait; wait to go to his second period class and repeat the process all over again.
As soon as the bell rung, Peter got up from his seat with his books and headed straight to the door with others right on his tail. He pushed the door open to a hallway that was rapidly piling up with students. He needed to get to his second period class as soon as he could without anyone noticing him, or else they would crowd him like before. He stormed past many as he entered another hallway to get to his class. Unlucky for him, the hallway was already quite full and lots of students turned to look at Peter, immediately recognizing him. They ran to him from all directions, just like before, and Peter was left with no choice than to try and push past them all. Lucky for him, Harry was right next to Peter and so were the rest of his S.H.I.E.L.D. team. They were all helping get through the hallway so he could reach his next safely, just like at the start of school. Peter really appreciated everything they were doing for him though they never had to. He smiled to himself, grateful for having such amazing friends. His smile quickly dropped when he heard the sound of an announcement being made. A “bing!” was heard around the school, making everyone freeze, waiting for what was about to be told.
“Good morning, students. This is Principal Coulson speaking. I have an announcement to make regarding a certain disruption in the school.”
The students tensed up, wanting to hear what their Principal had to say that was important enough to make an announcement about.
“From now on,” Coulson continued, “Peter Parker is to be left alone in the hallways and in classrooms,”
All the students started to look around, almost amused, and began to murmur to each other.
“That means no crowding him, only his friends will be allowed to interact with him. Thank you,” Principal Coulson ended abruptly.
Peter was left standing in utter shock as every person surrounding him started to disperse into different classrooms. Only Harry and his team remained.
“Well, I think that was a smart move on Coulson’s part,” Luke admitted.
“Yeah, otherwise we would’ve been stuck here for hours!" Sam added.
Peter breathed out a breath he didn’t know he was holding and sighed in relief. Peter turned to his friends and spoke.
“I-I know I was kind of a dick today-”
“Kind of?” Sam interjected; “You were a big dick today!”
“Sam, let the man talk!” Ava commanded, making Sam slowly shy away from her.
Peter nodded at Ava in a show of appreciation before he went on, “Anyway… I just wanted to really thank you all… f-for everything, really. I know everything is kinda weird right now… but trust me when I say this is all confusing me more than it’s confusing the rest of you.”
He looked around at all the others after speaking, reading their expressions. No one seemed genuinely upset so that was a good sign. But as he got no response, he was starting to get anxious.
Fortunately, Danny spoke up to get rid of the rising tension in the air.
“It’s fine. We get it, and we’ll be right here for you.”
“Yeah, we’re a team, remember?” Ava added, earning a slight look of confusion from Harry—the identities of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team was still hidden unlike Spiderman’s—but was quickly erased, happiness spreading on his face.
Peter smiled and nodded as a sign of appreciation.
“Uh… I don't wanna be the one to end this wonderful moment of friendship but… the bell’s about to ring soon.” Sam deadpanned.
And it did.
“Well damn…” Luke said. He waved a quick goodbye, heading to his second period class as he did not want to be increasingly late.
The others soon started to follow, leaving Peter with Harry and Danny who were the only two who had the same second period classroom. The started to fast walk down the hall together until they came to the classroom door. They hesitantly opened the door, and walked in, expecting a full blown lecture from their teacher for being tardy.
Instead, the teacher stood at the front of the class, smiling at the boys.
“Oh! Peter, Harry, Danny,” she grinned, “why don’t you have a seat in your respective places and I can continue teaching the class, alright?”
Surprised, the boys nodded and immediately headed to their seats. As they sat down, everyone else stared at them. Peter merely smiled, making them all speedily look away. Seeing that, Peter lowly chuckled to himself; they were being too obvious.
Time went by slowly as the teacher lectured continuously. She talked and talked as Peter blindly wrote down what he heard for his notes. But his mind was wandering off to Wade again. They definitely needed to meet after school, but how would it play out? Peter didn't know how to bring up the subject at matter without being awkward. He just had to hope it didn't come down to him stumbling over his words when him and Wade were clearly trying to find a solution to this problem that had arisen. He sighed heavily gaining attention from many others around him. He raised his eyebrow in response and once again, the students went back to their previous positions. Peter scoffed. Patience was something he needed; he had zero of it.
Chapter 21: not an update, just an apology
Summary:
hi... i came back
Chapter Text
so... i finally logged back on... i was kinda shocked to see people still commenting years later asking for an update... and i'm here to answer that...
i don't think i'm going to continue this story. i was young when i wrote this and included things that i just don't view in the same way anymore. i did really enjoy writing this, story wise, but i cannot ignore the mistakes i've made regarding peter still being in high school and there not being mutual consent in some actions. i personally do not think those are okay.
i'm sorry to disappoint, but yeah... i won't be continuing this story... at least not this version of it...
i did start a new account recently and i posted my first fic there. if anyone's interested the account is "bangtanspideypool" and the fic's name is "moon."
LAST THING: since i did enjoy this story... i've been thinking about maybe... rewriting it? revamping it? making it more legal and well-written i guess... maybe even add more details to the story...
if any of you guys see this and are still here and sticking around... maybe... comment below if you might be interested in me rewriting the story! if i post it, it'll be on my new account "bangtanspideypool" and i'll post an update about that here as well. but yeah...
thank you for supporting this story. i appreciate every single hit, kudos, and comment. it was my first fic. however, i've grown a lot from it and have made what i feel is the right decision for me.
sorry again! but thank you if you've read this far!
