Chapter Text
Things in Biniki Bottom weren't the same after the citizens came back to the city.
Some lost their homes thanks to the takeover by those that were now occupying the city. In order to get by and provide for their families, those that lost their homes were forced to work for the demons and sea monsters, the worst being the TV demon, Vox.
He gave his employees long hours, the minimum wage, and no health coverage.
If the employee didn't already have a surviving home or found a new one, then the shark had them live in small, crowded, and cheap apartments. Things were awful but the families that lost their homes during construction of the tower had no choice but to work for the one that caused it.
And it wasn't just Vox that ruined the lives of the citizens of Biniki Bottom.
The Goatia mocked, berated, or even outright degraded the og citizens, calling Mrs. Puff a bloated air head, mocking the lower class' plight and so much more.
Some even considered the fishes that originally lived her to be second-class citizens.
Mammon and Krabs fought in court for the rights of Krusty Krab, the trial being overseen by Satan, who clearly favored the demons of hell over the fish of this sea. In the end, the Sin of Greed not only won the legal rights of Krabs' creation, but he also won all the assets of the restaurants.
Which included the Krabby Patty formula.
Unlike the families that lost their homes, the crustacean had enough money to sustain himself and Pearl thanks to the hoard he had in his house.
As Krabs was dragged away from Mammon, who held the deed in his grubby hand, he yelled, "Thanks for leaving when ya did, now I have a new money maker in the form of your old restaurant!"

Spongebob was busy packing his things while the moving company was getting ready to move the pineapple to the street Squiliam lived on.
While he and Squidward weren't required to move out of the street when the sea monsters and demons moved in, they wanted to move away to start over but at the same time didn't want to abandon the houses they had.
Fortunately, Fancyson hired a company that would move their houses for them, even finding the duo the ideal lots for their properties.
"I know we could've just gotten a new house, Gary, but this Pineapple means a lot to me."
Gary was slithering next to his owner, meowing his opinion on the move, "Meow...."
The yellow sponge placed another box in the moving truck, "Yes, we don't have to move, but I want to. It'll be good to get a fresh start after everything that happened."
Gary helped Squarepants get the last things he needed to pack for the big move, while the snail didn't fully understand it, but he did agree that sometimes it was good to start over.
Plus, it would get his master away from that Oaf of a starfish.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Squidward was also packing, but he was alot more organized than how Spongebob did it.
Rather than throwing whatever could fit into boxes, he categorized the items, labeled the boxes and grouped them together. While both moving methods were good, Mr. Tentcales felt like his method would make unpacking easier.
Not to mention, it would save time, boxes and packing equipment.
Once he got the last things packed, boxed and ready to go, the octopus took them out to the moving truck he and Spongebob rented for the moment the company got ready to move his house as well.
"Alright you two, ready for the house to be moved with you?"
"Yep!"
"Got everything ready!"
With that, the company began raising the houses, the noises waking up Patrick from one of his many naps, "Hey keep quiet! I'm trying to sleep-!"
The starfish looked in shock as both the pineapple and tiki head were lifted up, then carefully placed onto large trucks that would transport the buildings to the new street, "Huh?! What's going on?!"
He only had time to see his former best friend and his grouchy neighbor get in the moving truck and drive off.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As the sun set over the changed Biniki Bottom, the original citizens now began wondering about what could've been different if they never gave in to their worst impulses.
If they stayed, then maybe they wouldn't have lost everything.
Mr. Krabs would still have the restaurant that not only gave him money but gave him a purpose.
Everything would have been as it should have been.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
But instead, the citizens chose to leave for a holiday that was founded on hate, got told off by a bunch of strangers who stood up for the very guy they couldn't stand, then a bunch of demons were making their lives go downhill.
What was worse was that they couldn't really do anything about it.
The intruders didn't have to forcibly take the city, they were practically given the keys to it when the citizens abandoned their homes for 'No Spongebob day.'
So now, everything the fish once had: homes, businesses, and stability was now.......
Gone.
