Warrior Names! Meanings! Uses!

Chapter 6: N-P

Summary:

Yes, I am missing letters...
Mostly because there are no canon suffixes for them...

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

-Needle

Used only once for Pine Needle of Riverclan

Meaning: This cat is ever-faithful, just like the evergreen trees that stay green in the harshest of winters.

Remember: the clans have no clue about Twolegs’s tech. So sewing needles mean nothing to them. Think evergreen leaves instead. Unless you are a human who got suck as a cat…

-Pad

Used only once for Needlepad of Riverclan.

Meaning: This cat can go where no one else can. Now where and why, that is up to the reader/author.

Need alternate to -foot?

-Paw

Used for all apprentices of the Warrior clans, unless they are full-grown.

Meaning: This young cat is following in the pawsteps of their ancestors, hoping to learn both knowledge and wisdom as they work to serve their clan.

-Paws

Used only once for Mud Paws.

Meaning: to denote something particular about the paws of the cat.

Would you like to drive some cats crazy by having a full-grown cat show with this suffix? Or a dog? Because that sounds funny.

-Peak

Used only once for Jagged Peak

Meaning: This cat stands out in cats’ minds just as the peak stood out in their mother’s mind.

If you wish to use this name, please keep in mind that the Warrior clans are lacking in mountain peaks. Jagged Peak was named this because he was of the Ancient Tribe in the Mountains.

-Pelt

Very common name, used by all clans.

Meanings depend on which syllable is being stressed.

If pelt: This cat has an air of calmness to them that helps all to focus on their duty. Ex. Willowpelt, Cinderpelt, and Thrushpelt

If pelt: This cat has so much energy, it is leaping off their pelt. Ex. Antpelt, Sparkpelt.

Hidden Meaning: This cat has secrets. Ex. Thrushpelt hiding Bluefur’s kits. Antpelt hiding Dark Forest, and who is the father of Willowpelt’s kits again? Because last I checked, she could have given birth to Darkstripe when she was an apprentice!

-Petal

Used only twice.

A beautiful name given to She-cats.

Meaning: This cat reaches out with her beauty

Second Meaning: This cat can draw you in with her beauty. Be careful!

Good alternate to Rainflower... Allows her to stay pretty and yet show off her bad side without tarnishing the -flower suffix. Unless that was the point of naming her Rainflower...

-Pool

Used five times

Meaning: This cat has a loyalty that stays in one place. Know well that this loyalty was sought out with courage and determination to be well placed.

-Poppy

Used only once for Tallpoppy of Shadowclan

Meaning depends on the color pelt of the warrior:

White: This warrior brings death, though the warrior makes it swift.

Ginger: This warrior remembers all those who have gone on to the stars

Brown: This warrior knows when to rest and when to be strong.

Yellow: This warrior brings peace to themselves and others.

-Pounce

Used only once for Harepounce of Thunderclan

Meaning: This cat uses every opportunity given to them.

Don’t know why this name was not used more often.

-Puddle

Used only once for Mudpuddle, as seen in Code of the Clans

Meaning: This cat will go out of their way to enjoy the little pleasures of life.

You can use this name in many directions. How is this cat happy? Is it from pleasure or true joy? Does this cat share these little things with others or keep to themselves? Have fun.

Notes:

Still waiting for somecat to find the missing -c and -h suffix!
