Two figures lie on a bed covered with a thick blanket, a wet towel placed on top of their foreheads as they lie on their backs, groaning. A different figure, this time with antennae, came into the room carrying a basin with cold water. He put it on top of the bedside table on the right side, sighing.
Yesterday came the rain -- a heavy one at that. It almost looked like a storm. The raindrops caused the noise of pitter-patter as they hit the glass window, echoing around the living room.
Miyo and Gai sat on the couch, bored out of their minds, watching the television mindlessly. They ate snacks stored inside the cupboards, supposedly to be preserved for emergencies. But it was an emergency for the duo -- complete boredom overtaking them that they started to watch bad movies to laugh at it.
After sitting through millions of movies, they laid on the couch in different positions, limbs tangled. Miyo sighed while Gai stared at the window, waiting for the rain to stop. His brown eyes bore into their backyard, imagining all the fun things they could've done -- picnics, trips, camping. There's nothing fun to do in the rain.
Unless--
"Miyo, you bored?"
She looked at him with tired eyes. "Yeah?"
Gai untangled himself from the pink-haired girl's limbs and sat up, throwing a mischievous grin at her. "You wanna go outside instead?"
Miyo looked at him, and then at the rain outside. She crossed her arms, letting out a groan. "Won't we get a cold though? I swear the second the rain hits us we'll get sick."
The brunette let out a groan. He stood up and grabbed Miyo's hand, attempting to drag her. "Come on, it's just for a minute though! What's the worst that can happen?"
The Nyanya huffed and let herself be dragged by the Mong, standing up on her feet as she walked along Gai to the door. "I swear, if I ever even sneeze once I'm going to--"
"Kill you Gai." Miyo glared at her boyfriend, voice low and gravelly, a fist hidden underneath the blanket.
Gai furrowed his eyebrows, letting out a nervous chuckle. "I swear I didn't know we would get sick--"
"It was raining outside, idiot!" She sat up quickly, facing the brunette. She raised her voice, making her cough -- the sore throat was starting to kill her.
While Gai tried to mellow out the woman's bad mood, Liu picked up the wet towel previously on the pink-haired girl's forehead that fell. Though the towel was soaked in cold water, it still came up hot. He sighed once again, putting it on the basin and soaking it there.
He wrung the cloth and set it on Miyo's forehead, stopping her from ranting. She mumbled a small 'thank you' to him, held the towel, then continued to scold Gai. The Bug just rolled his eyes as the duo argued in the background. Why did he get with them again?
"Look, I'm sorry I dragged you outside. It's totally my fault, and I promise I'll make it up to you." Gai held his arms in the air as he looked at his girlfriend with pleading eyes. "I'll..do all the house chores for you!" he offered as he clasped his hands together.
Miyo raised her brow, crossing her arms. "Promise?"
"Promise."
She let out a chuckle before closing her eyes, pleased. "Good."
It was just a regular Thursday for the trio.
"Come on, guys, rest for a bit before you go do your shenanigans." Liu pressed on their shoulder and gently pushed his partners down to lie on the bed once again. He took the brunette's towel and soaked it up with cold water. He wrung the towel before putting it back on Gai's forehead.
The Mong sighed, sick -- haha -- of his state. Now, this was worse than the rain. He couldn't even do anything! He moved to the side while he held the towel to his forehead. Ulcus, when will this end?
Miyo covered her mouth as she coughed. She knew she shouldn't have gone outside, but with complete boredom overtaking her, along with her boyfriend's little convincing, how could she not?
Liu looked at them as they rested, the blanket pulled up to their shoulders. They looked so peaceful, even though they were sick. He held the basin in his hand, walking to the door. Before he opened it, he looked back at his partners and smiled. The Bug twisted the doorknob and exited the room, leaving the duo to recover.
