Beautiful Disaster

Summary:

The smell is manly, the skin is soft, the warmth is pleasant and the embrace is protective. It's completely overstimulating, and Donnie considers trying his hardest to put an end to this fiasco.
Frustrated, after long minutes, Donnie admits that maybe, just maybe, he's a little cozy. He feels warm and sleepy in a way he hasn't felt in.... well, he doesn't even know. Years, probably. After the whole Krang thing, the thought of almost losing Leo still terrified him, to the point where he was sure he too would have rather died than live in a world without his twin. The connection with him was far more unique than with any of the family. It was a much more special kind of love.
So what's wrong with closing your eyes for a moment and enjoying what you can't say out loud? He could still pretend he didn't like it and keep up appearances, say he was simply adaptable, and if the opportunity to sleep so well presented itself, for whatever reason, he should take it.
Without further thought, he curls up seeking his own comfort and closes his eyes. In less than five minutes, he was asleep.

“How many nights have you been sleepless?”

“What is sleep?”

“Donnie... I'm serious, when was the last time you took a rest?”

“Science does not rest my dear blue homologue”

“Oh dear God...”

Leonardo has already lost count of the times he has asked Donnie to at least take a nap, but nothing works. Always, on those dates, Donnie would get much more paranoid than usual, claiming that everything should be under control and that they should watch out for even the slightest change in the environment.

And why did he get that way on those dates? What dates were those to begin with? Well, as Mikey called them, it was the anniversary of kicking the pink octopuses' asses, but for Donnie, it was the day he almost lost a brother. And why the paranoia? The softshell was convinced that Casey Jr's presence in his timeline signified an anomaly in the time-space continuum, and thus any new alteration to that continuum could have catastrophic consequences. In the worst case scenario, Donnie still believed that they could unleash the apocalypse in a different time continuum, only by meeting conditions similar to Casey's time travel.

No one could convince him otherwise, even after 10 years.

The worst part was the fact that the practicing softshell was isolated from everyone, to be glued 24/7 to a bunch of computers waiting for something to go wrong, and he could be like that for days, until he passed out from lack of food or exhaustion.

And Leo was already tired of that situation. Tired of seeing how his brother had nightmares even when he was awake, about a moment that nobody would allow to happen again, but when Donnie was in that plan, it was extremely difficult for him to change his mind. Every year, ever since that damn day when the world almost went to shit, Donnie demanded that his body work beyond its capacity, and the result always ended badly.

Leo wanted Donnie to understand that they were no longer children, that he himself had grown up to become an adult turtle, healthy, strong and, above all, much wiser. Much more cautious, much more considerate of the opinion of others, yes, Leo had become the leader his father wished him to be.

“To be old and wise, first you have to be young and stupid” Those were the words his father spoke to him shortly before he died.

And Leo understood and accepted it. Right now, he could never blame that child he was in the past, who lost the key, because he was just that, a child. He learned from his mistakes and improved for the better, but there was someone who still wasn't convinced of that.

“It's over. You're going to get at least two hours of sleep tonight. And you didn't think to discuss it” The slider declared.

“Yeah, right... As soon as I'm done working” Mutter the softshell.

“Donnie...” Leo grabs the back of the chair his twin is sitting in and turns it hard, forcing him to peel his gaze away from the screen to look him in the eye “You're way out of line with all this. It's been ten years now buddy, you need to let it go or you're really going to turn into a mad scientist, and I'm not going to allow it.”

“If you could see the infinite possibilities as I see them, you would realize that the source of my concern is completely valid.”

“No one says otherwise! Donnie the way you take care of us is wonderful, and we really appreciate it, but watching you work yourself into collapse is the last thing we would ask of you”

“That's a fair enough price to pay”

“No, it isn't. What's the point of you wanting to take care of us if you don't take care of yourself? You don't want us to worry about a possible tragedy, but, right now, we're so worried about you that the world could go to hell if it meant you could rest for more than two hours at a time”

“What kind of inappropriate thinking is that? You're not being rational.”

“Look who's talking! Donnie, please, I just want to see you resting from all of this”

“Okay, what's on your mind? You know I won't stop working, but I assume you wouldn't have come here without a proposal”

“That's right buddy!” Leo smiled knowing he had gotten her attention “I want you to sleep two nights with me, just like when we were kids, and if nothing happens then, you'll stop this whole research thing once and for all...”

“Are you crazy?!”

“Let me finish...” Leo raised his hand to silence any retort before finishing his proposal “But if I'm wrong and something happens, I will never, for the rest of my life, interfere with your projects again.”

“If you're wrong and something happens there won't be time to prevent it idiot! I'm supposed to be working to prevent anything from happening!”

“Exactly, and that's why you can't refuse right? The principle of my logic is that nothing will happen if you don't think about it.”

“Your ramblings have no principle or logic. You're just being ridiculous.”

“Then prove it. Prove that I am being ridiculous”

“Holy Galileo... all right! I just have to sleep for two nights and that's it, right? If I do, will you leave me alone?”

“I'll stay so far away from your lab it'll look like I was never here.”

“Tempting...” He mutters under his breath, seriously considering it “Damn it... deal.”

Donnie sighed heavily, as Leo came out of the lab prancing and grinning like an idiot. This whole situation was rather awkward, but he wasn't interested in risking mistakes, as much as his brother didn't want to see the scientific reality behind his concerns, he had no choice, but to do things himself to avoid disaster. He shuddered at the thought.

Leo just laughed to hear Donnie mutter something under his breath, but he paid it no mind. His twin could complain all he wanted, but he wasn't going to let him go back to his bad habits, not now that it had been so long since they'd faced real devastation and then finally found calm.

It would only be two nights. Two nights sleeping under his twin's care and he could show him how necessary his precautions were.

But Leo didn't mention anything about kicking the sitter out of the house.

“What is this?” Muttered Donnie, annoyed that he had left the comfort of his lab to go to the Hidden City in the middle of the afternoon.

“A hotel” Replied a giggling slider.

“And what are we doing in a hotel?”

“Here we will stay for two nights”

“Oh... and may I ask... why?”

“Because, my dear brother, I know you well enough to know that convincing you is not so simple. I am not as stupid as I used to be, I too take my precautions”

“And what precautions would those be as to keep us here?”

“It's not simple to keep you so still, so, to keep you from sneaking into your lab while I sleep, I prefer that the lab simply not be under the same roof”

“You sneaky bastard” Donnie muttered under his breath.

“What was that?”

“Nothing...this place looks expensive”

“It was Big Mama's hotel, but I think she sold it to someone because she didn't like the location.”

“And how do you intend to pay for it?”

“It's already paid for”

“Who paid for it? And with what money?”

“That doesn't matter! Let's get settled!”

Unable to ask any more questions, and being pulled along by the excited slider, Donnie had no choice but to start walking and follow him wherever he was going. It was well into the afternoon, but there were still a few Yokai to be seen walking the streets.

“It's only supposed to be two nights right? Are you sure we can afford that expense?”

“Trust me”

Once inside the rustic, but luxurious hotel, Leo led them both to what Donnie thought was the reception, where the secretary, a friendly older woman, was the one who attended them, and informed them that there was only one room free.

“Is it for two people?” Asked Donnie.

For a moment, the secretary looked at them and Donnie wondered what she was looking for. Whatever it was, the woman seemed to find something interesting about them and nodded quickly at the turtle's question.

“Perfect. We'll take it then” Leo affirmed.

“...You've got to be kidding me”

Leo made a questioning noise behind Donnie as soon as they both arrived, carrying the luggage into the room. He set it down on the floor by the entrance and immediately spotted the problem.

“Oh?”

The room was spacious, but there was only one bed. A double bed, yes, but that failed to calm Leo's blush or the uncomfortable indignation in Donnie's voice.

“Wait...she thought...” Donnie spoke before falling silent again, with a thoughtful look on his face “Did she assume... that we...” Instead of finishing his sentence, Donnie's face lit up with burning understanding of the situation “It's okay” He decides, without giving Leo a chance to speak, “I'll sleep on the floor”

“Absolutely not” Immediately claims his twin “I brought you here to rest, not to finish breaking your spine” Leo clarifies without his voice giving no room for argument.

They had already talked about this and he refuses to budge. Obviously, he can't challenge what Donnie's iron will, nor does he want to. However, it is winter and Donnie is a softshell turtle mutant, a detail that makes him quite sensitive to the cold.

His attitude is still strange to Leo, though. They used to sleep together as children without any problems. Was Donnie really so uncomfortable with Leo's presence now? Was the idea of sharing a bed with him so unpleasant? They wouldn't even have to touch; the bed was big enough for each of them to curl up on one side.

“You have a bad habit of hugging pillows when you sleep on your side”

“I'm not Raph enough to need to hug a teddy bear”

“No. You're not Raph. You're an idiot who's going to clam up on my back if I even think about getting into that bed with you” Donnie's voice was strained and low, but could be heard clearly due to the quietness of the place.

“Huh? Is it that bad?” Leo blinks in confusion. He guesses yes, his sleeping habits are infamously strange “Then I'll turn my back on you and put pillows as a barrier between us. Fear not babe!”

As annoying and stubborn as Leo can be, Donnie can't deny that he's quite adorable.

“... Okay”

That first night, Leonardo gets into bed first and, sure enough, makes sure to build a small wall of cushions halfway across the bed. He doesn't want to make Donnie uncomfortable. He knows they're not kids anymore, especially when it comes to something as important as rest, it's not something he should play with, so he hopes this works.

Donnie doesn't come out of the bathroom until Leo is sound asleep, which is rare. Leo never falls asleep first, on the contrary, he was always the last one to fall asleep and the first one to get up because of his insomnia problems, and anyone would think he was faking it, if it weren't for the quiet breathing that could be heard. But Donnie still doubts the veracity of the facts, even standing at the foot of the bed.

Donnie could never sleep so quietly, so peacefully, even if he tried. His nights are usually plagued by nightmares or insomnia, so he doesn't know why he's willing to try. Whatever charm trick Leo used this time, it probably wouldn't yield the desired results for both of them. Was it worth a try?

His days of sleepovers with his brothers were long behind him. The last time Donnie dared to go over to snuggle in the turtle pile, his brothers mercilessly dragged him into the center of the heat and hugged him, catching him like a wild animal in a trap, and he had to endure minutes of cuddling before the heat was too stifling to wake them up.

It wasn't horrible or anything, his brothers don't smell bad or anything, but it was too intimate an experience. Donnie still tries to maintain his bad boy facade despite his age. He's not the cuddly type, he's fussy and cold, and he keeps people at a distance. Or, well, he tries to. If he's honest with himself, he may not have been so successful at maintaining that image lately.

With a jaded sigh, he decides to get it over with. If it feels so terrible, at least he'll be able to say he tried, and it'll be a good excuse to escape the slider the next night.

So he carefully lifts the sheets and sits on the edge of the bed. The frame is ridiculously high, so only his toes touch the floor. Since when was he so small? Well, it wasn't time to think about that. Donnie lay on his back, stiff, and covered himself with the blanket. None of this, of course, provoked the slightest reaction in Leo.

He wasn't going to fall asleep, his thoughts were too rambunctious for that, and he might as well entertain himself with his phone for a while, but he'd rather respect Leo's sleep, so he just lies still staring at the ceiling. Thus an hour passes, the two of them silent in the darkened room. The curtains are not drawn, so the light from outside shines on the unfiltered wood, tinting the surroundings in the faint oranges and whites of the streetlights outside.

Well, it turned out it wasn't as bad as he thought. And just when Donnie felt he could close his eyes for a few minutes, a large hand grabs the pillows from the center of the bed, and throws them to the floor with a thud. Not even a minute passes when a strong arm wraps around his chest and grabs his elbow. He doesn't even have time to react, to jump out of bed and escape. He is trapped.

And since Donnie is despised by the universe, it doesn't end there. No, Leo uses his grip on Donnie to drag him down when he turns around. Now, Donnie was completely wrapped in Leo's arms. He squeezes him gently, not so much that Donnie finds it hard to breathe, but definitely more than he's comfortable with.

Once he reacted, Donnie squirms and pushes Leo away, trying to break free, but to no avail. As much as the softshell is reluctant to admit it, Leo has grown and matured much more than he has, he's bigger and stronger now, so unless he manages to wake him up somehow, this will be his life for the foreseeable future.

Waking Leo up is not an option, as it is a rather difficult task that would require either a great deal of patience or unnecessary violence, as it was very likely that the idiot was awake, and just wants to nag him until he gives up, and Donnie admits that he is somewhat tired and doesn't feel much like either. Resigned, he tries to relax his body and lets himself be hugged.

As if reacting to the tension leaking from his muscles, or silently singing victory, Leo tightens his grip and uses his muzzle to nuzzle Donnie's head.

“Hey... Cut it out” Mutter the softshell, knowing Leo won't listen to him anyway, whether he's asleep or not.

He tries to push him away a little, but only succeeds in getting Leo to pull him even closer. They're so tight that Donnie can feel every rise and fall of Leo's chest, the heat seeping through his pajamas and warming Donnie's usually icy skin. He's snuggled under Leo's chin, like a child, the slider's hands tight on his body.

It's overwhelming. It's too warm, too close, too tender. Yet at the same time he is too strong and his chest is solid against himself, his collarbones protrude above the plastron and somehow sickeningly, the sight is sensual. His skin shimmers softly and one of his fingernails digs lightly into Donnie's arm.

The smell is manly, the skin is soft, the warmth is pleasant and the embrace is protective. It's completely overstimulating, and Donnie considers trying his hardest to put an end to this fiasco. It's too many conflicting feelings he shouldn't have for his brother, and he should discard them immediately.

But in the end, he won't budge.

It is barely dawn when Donnie wakes up. The room is bathed in soft colorful light, more cheerful compared to the nighttime streetlights. This must be how the Yokai assimilate the day in the Hidden City, for there is no sky or sun to welcome the morning.

There is silence, except for Leo's deep breaths. He must definitely be asleep now, but he is still wrapped around Donnie as if he were his teddy bear, with one arm around Donnie's stiff shoulders and the other somehow wrapped around his waist, holding him tightly. The softshell's face is pressed, uncomfortably, against Leo's neck, where the skin partially covers his nose, and Leo's warm, sleepy scent envelops him.

Donnie doesn't dare move yet. His head feels unusually heavy, as if stuffed with cotton, and one arm is numb. He moans softly, and when he thinks he's had enough, he presses his hands against Leo's chest and pushes, but to no avail.

“Leo” He hisses, but there is no response ‘Don't pretend to be asleep or I'll bite you’ Nothing.

Sighing, Donnie tries to grab Leo's hands to laboriously loosen his fingers one by one, but that plan is also unsuccessful. In the end, he simply gathers all his strength and rolls into the prison of Leo's arms. Said arms tighten in response, drawing him in again, only this time with his back to Leo.

“This is hopeless” He complains with a frustrated sigh “Well brother, you chose the path of violence”

Finally, Donnie gives him a swift kick in the shin, making sure to dig his heel in as hard as possible. Leo grumbles in dissatisfaction and releases Donnie momentarily, who seizes the opportunity and quickly snakes his way out of Leo's grasp.

Silent victory chant. Donnie snorts, shaking off his pajamas and regaining his dignity, before disappearing into the bathroom. The image that greets him in the mirror is unpleasant. He looks wrinkled and ridiculous, with sheet marks on his puffy cheeks, drawn like a rustic map.

An unflattering blush tints his skin, his nose and cheekbones are puffy, and his lips are chapped. His eyes are bleary, with cracked rims. It's not a good look, far from it, and Donnie winces at the sight of his reflection. He's glad Leo isn't awake to see him like this.

It's a stupid idea, he thinks as he starts grooming himself, considering Leo has seen him battered and bloodied after vicious battles or even training that got out of control, which is obviously much worse. But there is something much more intimate about his current appearance that makes him feel an uncomfortable tightness in his chest.

“Donnie?” He hears Leo call from the door.

“In here” He answers in an apologetic tone, but doesn't stop brushing his teeth. He seems to have escaped from the bed just in time.

Once he regains his usual appearance, he returns to the bedroom to find Leo sitting on the edge of the bed, his feet fully propped up on the floor, much to his frustration, proving his point that Leo is now taller, if only by a couple of inches.

“Did you sleep well?” Leo asks with an unnecessarily innocent tone, though his voice is a bit hoarse from sleep and you can tell he's still having trouble waking up at all.

“Mhm... yeah” Donnie nods “It was good”

Relieved, Leo smiles at him that Donnie hadn't decided to run away. He finally gets up and starts to gather his things, which he has thrown on all the available furniture.

“I'm glad. See nothing bad happened? I told you” Leo laughs awkwardly.

“Actually, you did get a hug, but it doesn't matter. It was fine” Donnie mutters instead. He instantly regrets it, seeing Leo's face light up like a fucking Christmas tree. He should have lied.

“I'm so glad to hear that!” sings Leo with renewed enthusiasm “Physical affection is so important to your well-being.”

“Who taught you that? Dr. Feelings?”

Leo seems to take her teasing question as a genuine question and nods.

“Shit.” Now it's Leo's turn to roll his eyes, but Donnie deflects the topic “What's on the agenda for today? I don't think we just came here to sleep all day, did we?”

“Nope! I have plans to spend the day too. Don't worry. The point of all this is to get you distracted remember?”

“I guess...”

The day passed like a blur. They spent it walking around, visiting places to suit each other's tastes, eating knick-knacks at stalls of considerably dubious hygiene, fighting with some idiots who wanted to get them in trouble, taking pictures, and, most of all, getting distracted.

And so it went, until the light began to turn dull again, welcoming the afternoon.

The walk back to the hotel was silent. This is the last night they will spend there, and for some reason, Donnie feels tense, as if he doesn't want it to end. What a stupid thought. At first he almost argued with his brother because he didn't want to go, and now he doesn't want to leave.

He feels terribly vulnerable now, though, and just the memory of Leo's strong, warm arms around him makes him feel comfortable and relaxed in a way he really enjoys. But he's too much of a coward to say that out loud. No, Donnie isn't willing to admit that Leo was absolutely damn right to come up with that stupid plan to get him to rest.

Leo, for his part, is completely indifferent to the whole thing. And why wouldn't he be? They used to share a bed when they were kids, so, for him, it's just a sleepover with his twin. Too oblivious to the butterflies flying around in Donnie's stomach at the time.

The bed is made as they enter their room, and the shopping they did during the day is left meticulously ordered on the couch by the window.

“Are you tired?” Leo asks him.

Donnie shakes his head. He rarely feels tired, even if his body is, for he has been repressing and ignoring that feeling for too many years to acknowledge it.

Leo, however, does look tired; his movements are slow and his speech is punctuated by small yawns. As usual, he was the one who did the most foolish things today, so Donnie assumes he won't argue anything.

Donnie doesn't feel like having such incorrect thoughts in his head again, however good his brother's intentions were, that was a dangerous boundary he was terrified to cross. Right now, spending the night curled up on the floor already seems like an option. However, the idea becomes less and less appealing the more time they spend there with the bed next to them. It looks so comfortable.

They didn't bother to turn on the lights, so the room is only dimly lit by the slowly glowing street lamps. It gives the whole room an almost dreamlike atmosphere, and reminds Donnie of the warmth of the night before along with the feelings. Against his will, his imagination is drawn to the bed, and worse, into Leo's arms.

Donnie sighs and shakes his head in annoyance, and Leo inevitably notices. This was never about feelings, it was just about rest. He's being ridiculous. Leo hugging him like he's a stuffed animal isn't going to make him suddenly have the same feelings as Donnie.

“Dee?”

“What?” The softshell's response was a little gruff, but he couldn't help it.

He hadn't noticed Leo approaching, until the slider was practically behind him. Turning around, he found himself face to face with Leo's friendly, but mischievous smile.

“Everything okay?”

Donnie frowns, clearly thinking about what he's going to say. This signals to Leo that it will be something he doesn't want to hear. In the end he says nothing, and Leo takes back the floor.

“Let's go to bed. You look tired after all”

He doesn't. He is not tired. Maybe Leo doesn't know the difference between tired and thoughtful, but when he opens his mouth to refute it, nothing comes out. Going to sleep, unfortunately, doesn't sound so bad now. Maybe he could afford it, just one more night. It doesn't have to mean anything, he'll never have to admit he enjoys it, not even to himself. It's just comfort, and if Leo's presence helps him sleep better, and forget about his daily uncertainty, then he and he alone should know.

Donnie goes into the bathroom to brush his teeth, and when he finishes getting ready for bed, he returns to the bedroom to find Leo already under the covers, curled up on his own side of the bed, eyes squinting and breathing slowly.

Donnie laughs slyly. Remembering the night before, he awkwardly joins him under the sheets, stiff as a board. Though he can't help but wish Leo would hold him, but the thought makes him feel pathetic. He should try to sleep normally and be grateful that he doesn't cuddle him like a cushion. Yes, that's what he'll do.

He closes his eyes, willing his mind to quiet down and his body to come out of survival mode so he can fall asleep. It doesn't work. Thoughts keep swirling around in his head and his muscles remain tense, ready for any emergency situation, even if he knows nothing will happen.

“Hnnng” Leo mutters eloquently beside him.

It's the only warning Donnie gets before the pillow wall is abandoned again and thrown to the floor.

Soon firm arms wrap around him, comparable only to two snakes trying to strangle him, and pull him forward and then, to his surprise, upward.

Donnie blinks as he realizes his new position. Leo has managed to pull him on top of himself. What the hell is he going to do about it?! There's no way he can sleep in such an absurd position.

It's not as uncomfortable as he would have assumed, though. Leo is soft and solid under him, his body lifting him with each slow breath. He supposes it could be worse, but, even so, it all feels terribly embarrassing.

He tries to shift positions so they can lie side by side again, but Leo must be more of an anaconda mutant than a turtle because he doesn't move an inch.

“H-hey!... Idiot!” Donnie complains, hoping against hope that Leo will take both the insult and the hint.

Sighing, Donnie accepts his fate and settles in as best he can, resting his head on Leo's chest, his cheek crushed against his collarbone. He's so close to Leo's throat, and for an instant he wonders what it will feel like to bite into the soft flesh and leave marks on that skin.... He quickly banishes those thoughts. How humiliating, really.

Despite himself, he feels his mind and body shut down. He's almost asleep when Leo stirs again, his arms rearrange themselves and one of his hands, unfortunately, lands right on Donnie's ass. He doesn't just graze it, he grabs it hard.

Donnie moans loudly, trying to pull away, but he knows it's a futile effort. This is really uncomfortable. He feels an unbearable heat on his face, barely resisting the urge to hit Leo with all his might. It's the least he deserves. How dare he grope him in his sleep? Who does that?

Donnie considered writhing and kicking Leo until he came to his senses, but then thought better of it, and decided to have Leo himself move his hand, that way he'll know if it's on purpose or not.

With his plan in mind, Donnie tentatively raised his hand up to his twin's face, and with one of his fingers, began tickling Leo's nose and the corner of his lips, earning an uncomfortable grunt.

Leo moved his hand from Donnie's butt so he could remove the tickle from his face, and Donnie was on the verge of claiming victory, had it not been for Leo lifting his arm again only to drop it with the full weight of gravity.

The loud spank echoed throughout the room, to the point where Donnie was almost certain that, if there were people in the continuing room, they would have heard it too.

“AH! Son of a...” The sentence died in his mouth, as he straightened up a little to claim Leo and found him wide awake.

“You've got a nice ass little brother” The stinging, but amused look in Leo's eyes made it clear he was awake all that time “It's a sin not to enjoy it”

“You're... an idiot.”

“No. I'm your idiot”

The closeness between their faces was enough for Donnie to feel his brother's warm breath caressing the skin on his cheeks. It was nice, and the atmosphere was... romantic?

Unbidden, on more impulse than anything else, Donnie did the first thing that came to mind to check his feelings for Leo, and lunged forward, almost abruptly catching Leo's mouth in a kiss.

Perhaps he should have thought better of it, but the sensation was so overwhelming that the neurons in his brain simply stopped working. The softness of Leo's lips and the way he was gasping for breath were all that made up his reality right now.

For a terrifying instant, Leo stood completely still.

Donnie had his eyes closed, so he could only imagine the expression of bewilderment that must surely have taken over the slider's face.

Maybe it was a bad idea and Leo didn't want to kiss him, and Donnie was about to pull away from that mouth to say something, but Leo kissed him back.

With an unexpected enthusiasm for Donnie, Leo comes alive and gives himself to the kiss with total abandon. One of his hands boldly grips Donnie's hip, while the other rests on his jaw, tilting it just to that perfect spot for both mouths to fit perfectly.

The kiss deepened as Leo licked the corner of Donnie's lips, opening them, but Donnie was a little clumsy, exploring Leo's mouth perhaps a little too forcefully and urgently, with teeth and saliva getting in the way, and maybe Leo could guide him, but they both felt so good that they don't care.

Satisfied, Donnie let his hands roam Leo's firm chest, sliding between the curves of the plastron, and squeezing gently here and there, drawing soft sweet sighs from the other turtle.

“You liked it didn't you?” Leo asks him, gasping as they pull apart for air.

Donnie clearly isn't trying hard enough to fry this guy's brain or make his emotions clear, but one thing is clear to him, there should be no coherent words coming out of his mouth.

Rolling his eyes, Donnie refrains from responding and returns to that soft, warm place on Leo's lips. Capturing that mouth in a more intense kiss, leaning back on his elbows and, without letting go, draping a leg over his hip, straddling him.

“...The cuddling” Leo whispered again against her lips. He kisses him again, his hands running up and down Donnie's back. Their weight, warm and comforting, was pleasant. “You like that don't you?”

He looks so happy, and a tiny bit smug, but Donnie doesn't dare deny it. Though he won't confirm it either, if he can help it. He's a turtle with quite a bit of pride.

“Shut up” That's all Donnie growls and returns to kissing Leo earnestly, determined not to let another word escape those lips.

Fuck, who knew Leo was such a good kisser? That man hadn't kissed anyone before. It wasn't fair, but Donnie can't be mad when he's the one on the receiving end of those lips and teeth.

Leo is passionate and committed, yet considerate at the same time. Treating Donnie with care, with firm but delicate hands, not initiating anything until Donnie doesn't want to.

And honestly, Donnie doesn't want to get to that point, at least not yet. They're just barely letting their feelings out enough to take that big leap. That can wait, they both can wait and they know it.

They don't take things any further, they just snuggle against each other, enjoying kisses, caresses and hugs, and Donnie finally understands what Leo was looking for. He feels safe in Leo's arms, that's his place in the world, and as long as he can continue to enjoy that warmth, he understands that whatever might happen in the future, will happen, but if they're together to face it, then there's no need to worry so much.

It is a shared thought, like everything else they share. Words are not necessary between them. If there are problems, they will be able to solve it, together. Because that's what the disaster twins are like.

They are a beautiful disaster.

I'm working on updates now, as I'll have some free time soon, but I'm undecided between “Dear Blue Rose” and “It's Only You and Me”
I don't think I will be able to update both, but stay tuned to my twitter, there you will see more news of possible updates. See you soon!
