Summary
Years before Jason Todd is picked up by Bruce Wayne, he survives the streets of Gotham any way he can, living most of his time in Skunk Form and rummaging through the trash for food. One chance encounter leaves him with better food than he'd eaten in a while but also the terrible consuming feeling of loneliness.

Bruce 'Batman' Wayne has found an intruder shifter hiding in one of the cupboards in one of his safehouses and is ready confront whatever threat lies in wait. Instead he finds an angry baby skunk and proceeds to adopt the heck out of said child when it shows no fear at Bruce's massive Bat form.

Summary
Having been essentially kidnapped by The Batman, Skunk Shifter Jason has to not only navigate a giant manor while pretending to be stuck in his small form, he also had to avoid the adult who clearly wants to sell him, the self proclaimed brother who wants endless snuggles and figure out a way past the ridiculous security and escape before he's turned into a hat.
AKA Jason doesn't know how to relax or feel safe, itching with paranoia and trust issues after a few years on Gotham's streets.

Summary
Jason has finally escaped the clutches of the evil Bruce Wayne (who certainly wanted to turn Skunk!Jason into a hat, why else would he have been kidnapped by the billionaire?) Yet he's still ended up tailing Batman and Robin on patrol, if only because he's curious about their tiny stalker with the camera.
One thing leads to another and somehow Jason is left protecting a tiny Racoon kit from their natural shared predator, and deciding being a Hat might be a kinder fate than this.
AKA Baby Skunk Jason protecting Baby Racoon Tim from a Coyote Shifter. Bruce is a helicopter bat-dad.

The Aftermath of Damian's brief time in capture was over, he'd been saved after only a few days by his brother, Jason. He's still stuck in his form until the drugs wear out, but he's safe and that's enough.
AKA Damian stays with Jason while his older brother looks after him instead of returning him to Bruce.

Well Jason isn't cruel enough to play along (especially when Damian is literally in his flat watching trashy TV with the other two shifters he saved from traffickers a week ago and has just been hoarding since.)
AKA Dick doesn't know Jason is alive, that he's Red Hood or that he already saved Damian. He'll know soon enough though....
