Description:

The new vassals of Kiffu must offer a bride for the Sheyf's harem to prove their submission and willingness to participate in the future of Kiffu and the future of the Sheyf bloodline.

Mandalore Fett has to send someone and Fox does not agree on who that someone is. He volunteers, after all he is only the second son and had not expected anything great of life: a silent and solitary end for the sake of his people was a small price to pay.

(All the one-shots are interconnected, and even if they are not all in chronological order, this is deliberate, as the series is meant to be read in the order of publication).

Notes:

For a quick reminder of who some of the characters are in Canon/Legends:

Quinlan Vos, Jedi Master, about 35 years old during the Clone Wars, survived Order 66 and lived in hiding with his wife Khaleen and their son Korto. Just to explain how uncommunicative he is even in Canon: he didn't TELL her he loved her and sent her a message saying so when he thought he was going to die.

Khaleen Hentz, spy and ally of Quinlan, they became lovers and lived together when the Empire came to power.

Asajj Ventress, young Zabrak woman, in her early twenties, was a slave, adopted by a former Jedi in exile, and Fell when he died. She was noticed by Dooku, who trained her before betraying her. She tried to kill him with Quinlan, who had become her lover while he was a double agent among the Separatists for the Republic , and died for him.

Jedi Master Shylar was captured, tortured by Dooku and died without revealing what he wanted to know. She was Quinlan's first love as a young Padawan.

Tholme, Quinlan's Jedi Master, human

T'ra Saa, Mace Windu's Jedi Master, Tholme's lover, Neti

Fox, Clone Commander

*

No one is perfect here, they all have their faults and things will change slowly for the better. Without being the absolute worst, Fox's family won't be portrayed as positive for him and he will grow apart from them. Sometimes a family doesn't have to be abusive to hurt you, neglect is enough, and its consequences are long-lasting.
