Summary
Eight months ago, no-shit ghosts appeared for the first time, heralded by the terrifying lightning-cloud shadow shape of the Amity Park Phantom.
Six months ago, the Phantom and what can only be described as a hellhound annihilated Axion Labs, causing Damon Gray to be demoted and shattering the balance of Valerie Gray's life.
One day after that, a box arrived with a suit and instructions, and the Huntress took to the sky for the first time. Barely half a month later, her suit was destroyed, and she was given a new and terrifyingly responsive powered armor by an unseen benefactor right when she needed it most. She's hunted ghosts in as much of her spare time as possible ever since, even surrendering the boy she maybe loves in order to protect him better. As the son of the eccentric but capable local mad scientists, she hopes he'd understand if anyone ever learned who she actually is.
Sometime in the last thirty-six hours, thousands of monstrosities poured into Amity Park, and Valerie finds herself reluctantly fighting alongside the Phantom in a desperate defense. It's been nonstop, but she has to keep both her home and the ring she received yesterday safe. Even if it means putting herself on the line.

Summary
Valerie Gray knows talking to her father will be hard. Admitting that she's been the infamous vigilante Huntress is one thing. Telling him that Pariah Dark killed her?
Nobody's going to enjoy that.
But, well, there are some conversations you just can't avoid. And while Danny has plenty of reasons he can't tell his parents about being Phantom, plenty of places to hide his inhumanity, Valerie lives with her dad in a barely-two-bedroom apartment with thin walls, and her father doesn't have a track record of wanting to place a ghost under behavioral observation after taking ecto samples.
Armed with two days of laying as many of her secrets out as possible to Danny, while he responded in kind, she finds herself sitting across from her father having the most difficult conversation of her life.

Summary
Danny Fenton hasn't ever told his friends and sister the truth about the so-called 'Dark Phantom' or 'Dan'. As far as Sam and Tucker are concerned, he was dealt with in the future somehow. As far as Jazz is concerned, he was stopped before he could become a major threat. As far as Danny is concerned, none of them need to know the devastating truth about how close he came to setting Danny on the same path, or the simple fact that he's one of only two ghosts to really achieve his goal despite Danny's interference.
Only the newly-half-dead Valerie Gray knows just how close the world came to disaster, and only she can truly relate to the complex inhuman instincts that allowed that version of Danny to come to pass. The pair have a pact to keep each other in check. They also have a deal: Valerie tells her father about what happened to her, and Danny admits their mutual fixation on protection to Jazz.
Of course, to explain the real danger of it, he needs to explain the other timeline. After all, at its core, the issue was simple: if he failed badly enough, if nobody caught him when he fell, it could make him a monster. He has no doubt that Valerie is the same way. They need the support of the team.

Summary
Amity Park and Elmerton aren't really like other cities, for a number of reasons. The most damning one, the one that nobody on the outside believes, is that they have their own superheroes. Well. One vigilante brand ghost hunter and one sentient lightning shadow ghost.
Whatever. It works, as long as they don't think too hard about their heroes. People aren't dying in ghost attacks, even if they get hurt, and sometimes the Phantom and the Huntress get involved in stopping more mundane crime, which has had a frankly hilarious impact on crimes per capita. Nobody wants to be the reason the Phantom snaps and starts attacking people or the Huntress tries one of her guns on a human.
Then the entire city of Amity Park gets pulled into the afterlife for four days, after a grueling battle, and in the aftermath something has happened to their vigilante that nobody can ignore.
Even if they really, really want to.

Summary
Valerie Gray is really, honestly, kind of looking forward to getting back to school. It's something normal after a weekend of life-altering (and death-altering) revelations, conversations that somehow hurt worse than her death, and ghost fighting in a whole new way.
Too bad Wes Weston is waiting for her, somehow knows way too much, and isn't willing to let things go easily.

Summary
It’s been two weeks since Wesley Weston joined the team, and although Valerie Gray did in fact get fired, things have settled into a sort of uneasy routine.
She's been training as hard as she can, but Danny in particular isn't yet willing to let her fight alone if he can help it. It's almost stifling. For as much as she understands his drive to keep her safe, and as much as she gets that she's got a lot of improvement still to do, part of her still can't help but feel angry and smothered by the attention and concern.
Still, things are looking up in almost every other way, and their relationship is otherwise healthier than it ever was before all this.
Naturally, that's when one of Danny's most dangerous enemies comes to visit the twin cities. Given everything that's changed since the last time he saw Valerie, he's all too interested in making her a new offer of employment, whether the team thinks she should be anywhere near him or not.
