After the human leaves a grieving kingdom behind, Alphys is newly elected Queen. Even as she leads the remainder of monsterkind through these difficult times she has no space to mourn for what she lost.
She doesn’t know that an old friend she had thought dead will return to her.

It’s all they have been able to smell, all day. And they know it’s not really there, because no one else has commented on it, and it has followed them through every building and street corner and right into the Dark World even, and it’s impossible for it all to smell of that, for everything to smell of blood and rain. But it does.
A random comment from Noelle ends up unraveling Kris' perception of reality.

The monster did not move immediately, though. They did not even flinch or stiffen.
“The sheriff, huh?” their voice was deep and threatening. Moray started to feel they were missing something.
And they knew exactly what when the monster turned around to reveal the scowling face of none other than Undyne – Head of the Royal Guard.
Finding themself at the mercy of Undyne, Moray decides to show her just how fun a captive can actually be.
