Summary
Sasuke had always thought that people exaggerated when they spoke of warmth or light or any such thing as though it could be captured in a person, yet when Naruto smiled, or no, even when he breathe, there was something in it that made even the smallest moments seem unbearable to witness and irresistible to draw nearer to, and Sasuke, who had long thought himself immune to that sort of pull, found himself undone by it, steady hands trembling as if he were holding something far too sacred for his own keeping, something he could only hold if he promised never to let it slip away.

Summary
“I’m exactly where I want to be,” Naruto said. “If that makes me selfish, fine. I’ll be selfish.” He bumped their foreheads together, gentle. “Stop trying to give me back something I already threw away.”
Sasuke’s hands came up without thinking, fingers curling into the cloak’s edges. The fabric smelled like river water and Naruto. “You could’ve had everything.”
“I do,” Naruto said, and the simplicity of it cracked something open in Sasuke’s chest.

Summary
“No further trial, surveillance, or restriction shall be imposed on Uchiha Sasuke. The past is sealed. The future is his.”
Naruto had insisted on that last line himself.
The world was vast and miraculous and Naruto loved every corner of it but the thing he carried with reverence, the view he never got tired of, the view that made everything brighter, was always Sasuke beside him.
