Ash and Ben keep going over the plan, Tyler pretending to listen, trying (and failing) to stop thinking about what happened, and how close Aiden was, and the warm buzz he felt at the closeness. His thoughts have his eyes wander back to Aiden, who is sitting beside Ashlyn (as always), he’s doing his weird staring thing, looking at Tyler with dark, intense eyes, blinking forgotten. They lock eyes, and for five stuttering heartbeats neither of them look away, till Aiden finally blinks and looks away with a slight blush, hand covering his mouth, the chilled breeze tousling his blonde hair, the dimming light catching the dancing strands, casting shadows that sharpened his features. -
