Kouyou sighs in exasperation. “Alright, get on with it then.”
“I…” The thought of what he’s about to say is so terrible that Verlaine has to take a moment to collect himself. He steels his nerves, his fingers playing with the chain of the silver pendant that Rimbaud had given him a while back. “I think Chuuya got a boyfriend.”
The line goes quiet for so long that he almost thinks the call disconnected. Then, his sister responds in the most venomous tone he’s ever heard. “The next time I see you, I will shave you bald in your sleep.”
“Kouyou—”
“I thought you said it was important!”
At twenty-six, Paul Verlaine faces the greatest crisis of his life—the fact that his beloved brother might have gotten a boyfriend.
(One man’s journey of denial, self-rationalization, and begrudging acceptance as he relentlessly stalks his little brother to find out who he’s secretly dating.)

“How many times do I have to tell you that’s never happening?” Chuuya snaps. “I already quit soccer.”
“Rejected.”
“The fuck?”
“I’m rejecting your rejection!” Albatross declares, arms crossed in defiance. “You can’t quit soccer. Who else am I supposed to have an intense and passionate rivalry with where we stare into each other’s eyes and say vaguely homoerotic things?”
Chuuya feels a headache coming on. “Alright, listen here you damn bir—”
Chuuya’s days of playing soccer are over and done with. Or so he thinks, until an old acquaintance sweeps back into his life to make him rediscover his love for the sport.
By any means necessary.
(In which Chuuya gets recruited by delinquents, plays a life-changing game of soccer, and somehow ends up right where Albatross wants him.)

“If you actually cared, you’d do something abou—”
Pianoman hits the buzzer. “Stop.”
“What’d I do now?” Chuuya grumbles.
“Your delivery is flatter than Dazai’s ass.”
Okay, that was uncalled for.
After a prank gone wrong, Chuuya has to stage a fake breakup with his fake boyfriend. It’s stupid, awkward, and an utter waste of his time, but (un)luckily for him, his friends won’t be caught dead letting him put on a half-assed production.
(A youthful tale of friendship, stale bread jokes, and breathtaking incompetence.)
