It's been a few weeks since Cyn was defeated and Copper 9 slowly put itself back together. Despite winning this battle, Uzi has had trouble sleeping due to consistent nightmares. Trying to relax and unwind for the night--she stumbles into V and learns she's not alone with her trauma. They bond and get closer, learning that they aren't too dissimilar from one another.
Basically, I wanted more Vuzi fanfics so I made one myself. Cute comfort, sleepy cuddles, what more could you ask for?

Summary
Uzi was content working isolated in her lab for a trading company working on projects and fixing or creating new machines. She was perfectly fine with the occasional big group project. Heck, she was even content with the distance that was forced between her and her childhood best friend.
What she isn't content with is that said semi-friend bursting into her office and demanding the use of her data center for "oil-line continuation" purposes. Nor is she a big fan of the constant bombardment of business speech-coated "requests" her friend keeps throwing her way. Uzi would appreciate it if he'd at least take her out to dinner before asking to interface with her!

Summary
The slums are grimy but quiet. The drones get into fights, but it's close to the protective walls of Province-3. And outside the walls of Province-3 are where the threats roam. Giant and small creatures, fast and slow beasts, yet incredibly dangerous all the same. And yet, the best material is also out there. And if Uzi wants this material, she's gonna have to venture out beyond the province walls.
Which isn't hard. Avoid lights, cameras, other drones, grab what you need, and return before sunrise. Easy as that! And for a long while, it was as easy as that. But not all creatures sleep at night. And not all spiders are more afraid of you than you are of it.

In another world, Uzi Doorman was not an only child. Her brother, the not-disappointment of the bunker named Rev, isn’t exactly much of note, though. They couldn’t be more different; while she worked on her railgun, he was working on the doors, while nobody knew her despite the noise she made, everybody knew him and he hated the attention, when she fought murder drones, eldritch worm-crab-things, and cyberpunk witches, he could do nothing but put in moral support and maybe be a momentary distraction every once in a while. But they care about each other, and that’s the important part.
It is for this reason that, after Cyn was defeated, Uzi led search parties to Camp 98.7 to find him.
It is for this reason, perhaps, that Rev would return home after weeks moribund, and he is completely different.Something stirs in the deep.
Lakes of oil, untouched for decades, become home to a hundred bodies blinded by loyalty, clambering over each other to the feet of a leader consumed by new, if temporary, power.
As flesh dies at last, ancient machines become alive once more.
After all, the best way to reconstruct your sense of self is a few near-death experiences, wouldn’t you say? -
