Summary
Ishgard stands on the precipice of an impossible change. Joined in love, our Warriors of Light - Joshua Ward, Symkar Tsukasa, Hikaru Shinta, Makoto Kuzunoha, and Lamia Daerva - are worn from many battles, for every victory to their name has not been without sacrifice. The search for their missing comrades continues.
Part IV of "Armistice Elegies", a full retelling of FF14 from the POV of a polycule of Warriors of Light and Darkness. Ysayle and Haurchefant did not die in our version of the story. The first chapter is a rundown of the cast of Armistice Elegies, in case you needed a refresher.
Spoilers apply for the entirety of FF14 with liberal references to SHB and EW. Our WoL!ycule exists because there were three Azems after Venat: one murdered before the End of Days, another killed defending Amaurot, and another near corrupted by a Blasphemy before the Sundering. Their fourth was a familiar who loved them all. This retelling is canon-divergent; some major characters live rather than die, and it features a number of OCs. It also integrates content from the optional raids and story arcs.

Mistakes and choices were made in the past and future, and now there are Four Warriors of Light who could all easily take center stage and be the hero. However, one does appear to shine brighter than the others, perhaps that's whom the story is meant for?
Even then, having FOUR Warriors of Light can't be a bad thing, right? The established timeline won't change that much...

Welcome! This is Book II based on Heavensward. If you're curious about how the story started, including changes to the MSQ, please consider reading the fully completed Book I! Just as before, this will include both familiar and unique scenes and is not meant to be 1:1 with the game. It's meant to be a more seamless experience with an evolving cast of characters, consistencies, tie-ins, and references that weren't accounted for early in the game's development, but we'll see how I do! This is not me “fixing” or “improving” anything. It’s just my reinterpretation and rewrite.
More than anything, this is practice for me, so please feel free to leave any feedback you have or thoughts along the way. It really does help! The prologue and epilogue will be written differently than the rest of the fic and each chapter has pictures done in gpose. Appendicies will also be added, though mostly after the main story is done.

But something brews in the depths of Ishgaurd's underbelly. Something that could threaten the star just as drastically as any of Meteor's previous enemies. The poor guy can't catch a break as duty thrusts him back into the fire to save his friends and protect Etheirys once again.

Their names now cursed in the eyes of the Ul'dah, a place that had once been home to him, Joshua struggles to find a way forward in Ishgard with Alphinaud Leveilleur and Tataru Taru, the only survivors of the Light's fall. Their personal tale is set against the Dragonsong War, whose flames climb ever higher around Halone's children.
