The first to greet her slowly adjusting sight was a woman whose bounty could feed a household for the next generation. Cold blood splattered on her face glistened in the same color as her lipstick. Those lips curled into a crazed smile after leaning in and leaving her mark on Kurapika’s cheek.
“Happy to see your darling in shining armor?” Chrollo purred against the prosecutor’s ear whilst twisting her around and shooting a man dead behind her.
Kurapika bared her teeth once the hitman tore the tape off her mouth; her face most definitely wasn’t burning where Chrollo had kissed her. “You’re the one who got me kidnapped in the first place!”
Or: Even in such a lawless city, no one expected Prosecutor Kurapika and Hitman Chrollo to be partners.
