Summary
Sherlock was in New York when the new villain thought to try his new alien weapon. He purposefully came in front of the blast as an attempt at suicide, but even if the blast had hit him, he didn't die. Instead, he was aged down to his twenties. The Avengers took him to the compound where he could recuperate until he was conscious to ask about who he was and why he did what he did because Tony was sure he did jump in the line of fire willingly. But then comes the twist, he had lost his memories until the age his body was transformed. Sherlock himself didn't know why he was there, in New York, on the streets when he should be in London at this time.
Then the investigation begins, to find the truth of why he was here and why he was attempting suicide.
Back in London, even when it's half a year after the death of his little brother, Mycroft Holmes is still grieving, blaming himself for being too late to catch his dearest brother from spiraling, he already knew that Sherlock's death would be a suicide, but it still hurts the same. Imagine his state when he gets a call from New York that Sherlock Holmes is alive.

What I had asked :- a case fic where Sherlock is kidnapped to get to Mycroft. Scotland Yard officers along with John, Mycroft, and his agents reach the place where Sherlock is kept. It hurts Mycroft to see Sherlock in pain and to save him he is ready to do anything and everything. The leader makes Mycroft do humiliating things like kneeling, begging and, apologizing etc. And to everyone's horror, Mycroft does while Sherlock tied to the pole begs Mycroft not to do anything. The leader thinks he won when he brought 'the British government' to his knees but Mycroft has been biding his time doing every act he was asked to and when the time was right he struck, Mycroft single-handedly fights every opponent with his sword and then freeing his brother. A tearful reunion between brothers and the promises being spoken of being there and loving the other.
