He wasn’t awake.
In fact, when she saw the man’s face, she felt worse. It wasn’t possible. He looked younger than before; he looked completely uninjured; he seemed perfectly right.
Hands latched onto hers. His eyes opened for a second, staring into her soul. “Nerys,” he breathed.
“Get Doctor Bashir,” she ordered no one in particular. She stared back. “We’ve just beamed up Dukat.”

When Dukat is back from the dead, twenty years younger and seemingly “good,” Kira must consult the Prophets and figure out how to cope with all her feelings of anger, guilt, and pity as well as learn more about the Prophets’ plan for Bajor.
