Basically, expired milk becomes friends with pure vanilla, and fixes a few mistakes. He keeps his personality, but changes a bit for the better. Shadow milk is equal to Meg singing “won’t say I’m in love” and pure vanilla has a few “would you fall in love with me again” moments, because there will not be a fic of mine without epic or Greek myths. Only when he stands right before him, he stops to pry open his lips, revealing two sharp fangs on his upper jaw. His trembling is noticeable, and his clutching his chest is more desperate than ever. He seems to utter a few words, but his master cannot understand him.
Suddenly, the figure dressed in blue reaches out to him. When he cups his cheek, it’s unnaturally gentle.
“There’s no reason for you to hesitate. You’re hungry, aren’t you? I see not a speck of jam on your collar. Still not up to biting anyone other than me?”
The bat-like Cookie twitches, but remains still. His mouth opens wider, and his legs look like they’re about to give out. Still, he does not budge. “… I refuse to drink the jam of innocent souls.”, he huffs, looking like he’s on the verge of collapsing.
“Black Sapphire Cookie,” the other begins once more, voice sickenly sweet, “I’m far from innocent. Please, do as you must. I won’t be angry.”

There, Black Sapphire Cookie gets a cover job working for the fallen noblewoman, Light Cream Cookie; conveniently learning she’s the mother of the powerful Clotted Cream Cookie.
Once Black Sapphire makes this tidbit public, however, Light Cream Cookie goes missing, clearly due to foul play. Black Sapphire and Clotted Cream enter a mutually beneficial partnership to save Light Cream, restoring Shadow Milk to his former glory in exchange.
But the longer they work together, they not only become further entangled in the rotten core of the Republic, but with each other as well. Black Sapphire must ultimately make a choice between the familiarity of deceit under his master, or becoming the bringer of justice alongside his new "ally".
