Eleven inexplicably finds himself in Henry Creel's time during the 1950s, more specifically in 1959, accompanied by Max Mayfield and Holly Hopper.
This story takes place months before the final season, which didn't air until November of this year. It draws inspiration from the book Stranger Things: The First Shadow, which tells the origin story of Henry Creel, now Vecna, his nemesis and the Stranger Things Party.

Per il compleanno di Will, Joyce e Jonathan decidono di regalargli una breve vacanza in campeggio insieme ai suoi amici. Bob, il compagno di Joyce, non può unirsi al gruppo a causa di un impegno di lavoro. Per non dover gestire tutto da sola, Joyce chiede a Hopper di accompagnarli. Jim inizialmente è esitante – stare vicino a lei gli provoca una tensione emotiva e fisica che fatica a controllare – ma finisce per accettare quando lei insiste con il suo modo genuino e affettuoso di chiederglielo.
La sera prima della partenza, un momento di vicinanza tra Joyce e Hopper fa emergere sentimenti che entrambi cercano di ignorare. Joyce ne prende coscienza, e quella consapevolezza accende in lei emozioni intense che lasciano tracce anche nella sua relazione con Bob, creando tra loro un silenzio carico di domande e tensione.
La mattina seguente si separano: Joyce e Hopper partono per il campeggio con i ragazzi, Bob va al lavoro con il pensiero fisso su ciò che è successo.
