This is an alternate universe where there are no demons or hunters, but all of the main cast still exist. What happens instead is a retelling of the movie in a more grounded lens. We follow most of the story from the Saja-Boys' perspective, as they go through training and extreme pressure to become Idols. Along with an explanation as to why they were so jaded and rude to HUNTR/X or become so hollow when off-stage.

Nari Kim is Bobby's young niece - his part time assistant, and the Huntrix's personal housekeeper. Despite being around the same age as the famous idols, she has only been their housekeeper for three years now, the move from America to South Korea a bit scary, but the life of being a housekeeper for famous pop idols was normal...or as normal as it could get. All she had to do was to make sure the ladies have everything they needed, which was easy enough.
Even though, Nari does want to be their friend and get to know them more than just a working relationship, but she knew that wouldn't happen because of how close knit the girls are and she felt like she might ruin their dynamic if she say anything. Having a professional relationship with the girls was the closest thing she might ever get. Besides, she knew they were busy with their music. It was like they were on a mission.
What matters to Nari was that they were nice to her.
However, when Nari stumbled upon a teal haired man, she didn't realize her life would be turned upside down and watching the Huntrix trying to takedown a new boy band as well as learning the secrets that the Huntrix were keeping from her for all these years.

All noise save for the tv stopped. If it wasn’t for the dubbed-over David Attenborough coming through the speakers, the sound of a pin dropping would have seemed like thunder. Both Mira and Zoey froze, a piece of popcorn falling out of Mira’s open mouth to land on Zoey’s stomach as they both slooooooowly turned to look at their leader. Their eyes were as large as saucers, as their innermost thoughts from moments ago resurfaced in an instant. Both could feel the heat in their cheeks as they blushed. Then Rumi started to laugh, breaking the spell. They both took breaths that they didn’t know they had been holding.
“You should see your faces! Both of you! You looked like you were going to pass out. Or summon your weapons! Did I grow horns or something? Or …”
She then started to laugh even harder as Mira and Zoey, faces still frozen in shock, turned to look at each other before scowling suspiciously. They then started to sputter simultaneously, trying to explain away the situation.
“Seriously. What did I say? Did you … wait. Did … Did you think I was proposing? Is the idea that scary to you two that .. I mean, I … well, I wouldn’t … Ya know, what? Forget it.”

Rumi is a prodigy PHD student who wants to study the biology of Pandora, a planet far from her dying planet. She hopes the planet has the key to solving the climate crisis. If she is diligent and careful, she might be able to accomplish it, as long as she doesn't interact with the natives. They don't know about humans yet.
Zoey (friendly name for Zokeri) is very familiar with humans. They destroyed her ancestral home and killed her tribe's chief. The remnants of her tribe all have to seek refuge with a section of the ash tribe on the far coast. Though they are accepted, cultural differences keep her world unstable and it doesn't help that she has a crush on the Chief's daughter.
Mira (friendly name for Mirkatkaina) hates her new home, its cold, its noisy, it smells like fish and she has to mix in with the sea Metkayina and deal with all their issues on top of her own clan's. Like the one main ash clan, her father is tempted to ally themselves with the starpeople, though that would cause an uproar. It would especially upset the traumatized cute girl she really wants to mate with.
Jinu the horse was bred for one thing. War. He can't have war though, so he chooses all other forms of chaos.

In 2023, Militech orchestrated an assault on Arasaka Tower to wipe the Mikoshi labs of the Soulkiller program. After successfully purging Soulkiller 3.0, a pocket nuke was detonated in the building, and the tower fell in what is now known as the Night City Holocaust. In the fallout of the war that led up to this event, Arasaka had no choice but to file bankruptcy. They had lost the war.
But corporations as big as Arasaka are a hydra. Where you sever one head, more simply sprout to take its place. The Korean branch of Arasaka founded GWIMA off the remains of their parent company, and took Seoul by storm when the AI they created to harness Soulkiller turned on the founders of GWIMA and used Soulkiller on them, using their engrams to run the company.
Three netrunners rose to contain the rapidly spreading AI silently taking over the net, and together created the Honmoon, advanced adaptive ICE that held the rogue AI back. The netrunners created an entertainment company called Sunlight as a front to cover for them, using K-Pop as funding to keep the Honmoon up.
Now, in 2077, GWIMA has a new strategy to break the ICE, and the successors to the netrunners's band, HUNTR/X, are taken to Night City to stop it.
