He was going to be brave. “Can I kiss you?” The quiet question came, but in the silence it felt so loud, it hung so heavily in the small space between the two men. Cele was looking at him like a deer in headlights, surprised, like he was not expecting anything of the sort. Alonso was about to apologize, thinking he had misunderstood the atmosphere between them, but Cele seemed to come back to his own body just as Alonso was starting to open his mouth.

The enchanted bell above the door jingled merrily and Sava cursed softly under his breath. He gently placed the crate of ingredients he was about to start organising down and wiped his hands on a nearby towel before he exited the back room that served as his storage room.
An unmistakable smell of wet dog hit his nose and Sava just about managed to hold back his grimace. Either there was an actual wet dog in his shop, or a poor werewolf had fallen afoul of something and had entered his shop for help or shelter. Either way, Sava wasn’t going to be rude.
