Okay, so — you know how Cheng Xiaoshi was supposed to die at the end of Season 2? Yeah. Not in this AU. He doesn’t die. He survives, but not in a “yay happy ending!” kind of way. He comes back… changed.Because let’s be real: messing with time that much had to have consequences. All those people who died, all those timelines he twisted trying to fix things — it all adds up. And now it’s caught up to him. Except instead of just guilt, he becomes something else. Something not-quite-human anymore. His eyes glow yellow, all the time, and he’s carrying all the weight of what he's done. People think he's a ghost, or a devil. Maybe he kind of is.
This is an AU where he didn’t get a clean ending. Where he lived, but now he has to figure out what that even means. It’s dark, a little tragic, but there’s still some hope underneath it. Maybe. Depends on how much you trust the timeline.
