After royally screwing up his latest mission with the Columbia City Hero Association, teen superhero Watchman is given three choices: he can hang up the cape, he can go rogue (and be considered no longer an ally of the Association), or he can undertake his most dangerous mission yet—to infiltrate the Knights Volant, an infamous supervillain group, and report back on them to the Association.
Watchman is hardly ready to give up the hero gig, and being a lone operator seems unpleasant, so he takes option number three. Of course, the only way that he’s going to be able to infiltrate the Knights Volant is if he makes certain that there’s no way for them to recognize him as Watchman.
Obviously, the best way to do that is to, as thoroughly as possible, disguise himself as a girl.
