Prince Aemond and his dragon were slayed by the Rogue Prince and The Blood Wyrm, who both followed soon after, their bodies hitting the lake. Daemon Targaryen accepted that his time was at the end and embraced death, but Balerion, The King Of Gods, had other plans.

It might be because she’s Daemon Targaryen’s daughter. It might be because her soul is from another world. It might be because her dragon blood runs hotter than most, and that means more than she knew it could. It might be because the dragon that chose her is the most vicious of them all. It might be because she's a woman on a mission.
So many might-be’s, but one thing is certain: she wasn’t meant to exist, and the sole fact that she does was enough to knock the world off its axis.
Why not push the change further?
Or: Targaryens really aren’t human and expecting them to conform to human standards rarely ends well, and sometimes an unhinged woman with an unhinged dragon is all the world needs to prevent a disaster long in the making.

This isn’t where he’s meant to be. He should be far away, burning through pirates and godsdamned Triarchy fucks, tasting the spray of war shed blood splattering upon him with the slash of Dark Sister.
Instead he’s splayed out on an old, uncomfortable cot in fucking Runestone, surrounded by incessant midwifes and a sneering Maester he all but banished to the corner of the room, watching him at his moment of weakness, groaning out from the inherent pain of bringing forth another babe.
He should be flying over the sky upon Ceraxes, towards any adventure, any battle – oh, but he would so miss his boys.
And Rhaenyra.
What started as a crack thought is now an actual proper idea, anyway tldr Daemon is an Omega, cause we need more fics of that, Rhaenyra is an alpha, they kind of swap kids, shit goes down, the Hightowers suck, nothing new with that.

He now understood his father better - no wonder Baelon went half insane and smoked like a chimney - a habit Daemon picked up as well - taking care of two teen boys, the mess that Viserys and he were - however, he will put in an argument that Viserys was an adult when Daemon was in his teens, therefore, Baelon's stressors were nicely spread out, more long-lasting, sure, but spread out, and mostly reasonable. One teenager at a time.
Daemon had 8. Fucking, 8. At a time. Eight weird little gremlins that wanted little to do with him in their odd, sensitive age. At a time. Alongside two toddlers and a goddamn baby. Lord, help him, why did he want this again?
Rhaena and Aemond once informed him he was a malewife to Rhaenyra's girlboss - he was still unsure whether to take it as a compliment or an insult after he spent half an hour on Google in an attempt to figure out what fucking language his children were speaking now.
He, however, concluded they were unfortunately correct.
