Meanwhile, David clutched at his chest and closed his eyes tightly trying to will his heart to stop beating so fast, and his body temperature to quit rising. Cameron threw an arm around David's shoulder as he pulled him close, while David stomped his feet and bit his bottom lip so hard that Cameron could've sworn that he saw blood. "Davey! Don't worry! I have the perfect opportunity, it's a new business venture I've been cooking up on the side, if you win, the money you'll get will be more than enough to run the camp for as long as you'd like!"
David took deep breaths, and once he got his breathing under control, he blinked his tears away. He looked up at Cameron with watery eyes and sniffled.

The next line of surprised nonsense had something that could be interpreted as ‘mack-suh’ tacked on to the end, but the man had mirrored the gesture.
“No! I’m Max,” he reached out and grabbed the man’s hand this time, pressing it against his chest, “My name is Max, you dumb fuck.”
The man stared at his hand, then at Max, and eventually a single syllable fell out of his mouth: “Max.”

When Daniel finally returns back to camp to finish the job, he's shown an offer he can't bring himself to refuse. Daniel knows that David is wasting his potential at that camp, and he knows he needs to help- either with ascension or by working together, he'll ensure David will be free. But with David's trusting stare looking right back at him- sacrificing the camp is turned into an afterthought.
David has his own thoughts to battle with too. Should he really let Daniel loose to sacrifice innocent people or... Is it worth changing that fate? David knows what he'll pick. David knows damn well he can't leave Daniel to fester in his cultish beliefs, but when Daniel decides to rationalise his ideals, he questions if Daniel's heart is in the wrong place.

Life changed since the golden trio saw each other last. Max was adopted by a Japanese family thanks to Ered’s cool gay dads, Neil now has a science girlfriend named Annie and Nikki’s mom now has a husband that she doesn’t use for money.
Our beloved gang, alongside Nerris and Dolph, are reunited back at the camp. As Gwen left Camp Campbell to go for her dream job, David hired a new camp counsellor name Victoria, which no one likes.
