Summary
When - we’ve jumped in time to the Prison Era!
Genre - fluffy and fun. It’s the Fourth (Eighth) of July! You and Glenn want to make it a good one for people, then you enlist Dary-bear to help...but he doesn’t realize it’s to set off actual fireworks.
Relationships - Our mangy hick be admitting something big to himself and it’s a huge step for him. As always, found family and slight adherence to Bechdel also means we focus on you and the gang! In line with your character, you adopted a younger brother.
Pronouns - neutral time, y’all
Perspective - POV You, POV Daryl
TWs - just some casual crude language and passing mention of (marital) sex
Word Count - enough to explain why setting off fireworks is in fact a great idea
Plot references - the water pistols you found in 'Bad things happen*,' you and Daryl discussing holidays in 'A f----n’ great Christmas,' your medical skills (friend, they are increasing), T-Dog and Daryl’s friendship as had been hinted at (esp in 'It was a pragmatic cigarette.')
There are more references in the story to be found, so be sure to read what came before this in The Slowpoke Series, slowpoke :)

Summary
What - dealing with grief as the dust finally starts to settle following the war with the "Saviors." Dealing with grief regarding one specific character's death in particular. You know the one.
Genre - heavier, but we get devoted husband/father Daryl out of the mix. The story ends on a hopeful note, because with healing there's hope.
Relationships - wife Reader and husband Daryl as well as your baby. Familial affection with Rick, and that balance between friend and clergy for Father Gabriel.
Perspective - 3rd POV Daryl, and 2nd POV You
Pronouns - she/her
When - time jump! we've briefly hopped to post season 8, pre season 9. This chapter takes place during the earlier phases of recovery and rebuilding after the war. The previous chapter, "Scary as a sleepy kitten", took place during season 2.
TWs - grief, PTSD (including after SA), depression, self-loathing, and some cussing.
References - what we learned in 'The Interview'. The grieving/anger as seen in "The first Christmas 'without'" Part 2 and its conclusion "I don't hate you", reference to "Happy 8th of July!"
And is there a pic at the end as a prize for finishing? - yes :D

Summary
“Could you teach me how to use it?”
“Know I could,” he says, and then turns back to his work. Without seeing it, he can sense the annoyed way she scrunches her nose. Michonne always says she picked that up from him.
“Okay… will you?” Judith rephrases.
“No.”
Or, a oneshot where Judith asks if Daryl can teach her how to use his crossbow. He says no. She takes matters into her own hands.

Summary
The next truck eased into view, and Rick immediately noticed the difference.
No glittering paint job. No flame decals. No grinning skulls. Just matte black from hood to tailgate, the kind of black that seemed to swallow the light around it. The panels were scuffed and dented, some welded seams visible even from the stands, like old scars that had been patched over just enough to keep moving.
“The Reaper!” the announcer called out, voice briefly lifting before sliding into the next introduction as if this one wasn’t worth lingering on. No flashy stats, no hype about the driver - just the name, dropped like a stone into the noise.
But something about it caught Rick and held him.
It wasn’t trying to be the loudest in the room. It didn’t need to be. Every inch of it looked like it had earned its place here, not been polished into it. A working beast, not a show pony. It looked like it had been through hell and kept going.

Shane drags Rick to a monster truck rally to "shake the dust off" his post-divorce life . Rick expects noise, chaos, and a headache. Instead, he finds himself captivated by The Reaper - and the quiet mechanic who takes care of it.
