Summary
What he had with Helena was something else entirely. It felt like a dangerous, unknowable ocean, and yet he still wanted to dive in - deeper and deeper. To lose himself in her again and again without ever coming up for air.
Because she would dive with him.
And she was the only breath in the depths where he’d drown. -

Summary
Helly stands up from her desk, feeling weak and shaky. She locks eyes with Mark, who isn’t doing much better. There’s a roaring in her ears as Milchick continues to talk, but she can’t focus on him. All she can focus on is Mark, and how sad and scared he looks. How she’s gotten so used to him, how she just realized she likes him, and how suddenly, thanks to his outie, she’s about to lose him forever.
---
When MDR finds out Mark S’s outie has tendered his resignation, they’ve got two weeks to do something about it. Unbeknownst to them, they might have some help on the outside, too.

Summary
(Inspired by the song of the same name by Bleachers)
Little Post-Canon of Mark’s first Christmas without Gemma. Featuring Devon being a wonderful sibling, and Mark being an asshole (kinda).
I’m really sorry if my Devon feels really out of character, I’m new to this.
God bless Markgemma and all of the surviving Markgemmas in this fandom 🫡

Summary
Mark Scout thought accepting the Eagan Foundation’s prestigious faculty fellowship would mean research funding, grad students, and maybe finally fixing his collapsing porch roof, not being tangled up with Helena Eagan herself.
She’s sharp, relentless, and entirely too good at getting under his skin. Between benefit speeches, tux fittings, and “work sessions” that keep veering into dangerous territory, Mark’s starting to realize this fellowship might cost him a lot more than his professional composure.
Or: that time I tried to write a one-shot based on the Atonement library scene and it spiraled *wildly* out of control.

Summary
“How about do you fuck married women, Alexa?” Alexa proposes, so sharp it hurts.
Devon hesitates, but it doesn’t sound like a no, exactly. “Do you?” She prods, folds her fingers around her mug to bring the warmth in closer.

Summary
“I’m decorating for Halloween,” Mark says, gesturing to the inflatable ghost on the lawn, the fake spiderwebs and decorations on the front porch of their little house.
“Oh,”Helena says with a little shrug. “I didn’t know that there were special decorations.”
“Really?”
“Well I’ve never celebrated Halloween before.”
“Wait, you've never celebrated Halloween?” he asks in disbelief. “Like…ever?”
or, Mark helps a reintegrating Helena celebrate her first Halloween.

Summary
“Of course, I was certain he meant Eleanor— with the whole she’s alive and what have you— and Mark was fairly clear on that as well. Eleanor being in the same room and all.”
Devon groans. She’s standing in the living room, burping Eleanor, and she sees it all come crashing down in slow motion, the way Gemma’s eyes narrow just the tiniest amount, one hand clenching around the kitchen counter.
“And what did Devon think?” It sounds remarkably loaded, from where Devon’s standing, but Ricken must see it as part of their easy back-and-forth, because he chuckles, that low, warm sound that always made Devon smile.

Its all turned upside down when he finds a girl abandoned in the forest, noone seems to know her, nor has anyone come to claim her. And he finds himself unwilling to let go once he's gotten a taste.
