Connor was startled by the command, afraid that he had misheard but also afraid that he had heard correctly. He gave his head a tiny shake, as if trying to clear it of the mental debris warping Mason's words into a poorly timed proposition. "What?" he spat.

The art they are auctioning off is valuable, certainly, but the guns are definitely overkill. “You’re wearing a bulletproof suit, aren’t you?”
“My face isn’t bulletproof,” Tyler grumbles, and Jamie has to cough to hide his laugh. “I’m too pretty to get shot. Again."
Tyler's not wrong. One of these days, Jamie's crush on him is going to get him into trouble.
Well, more trouble than he's usually in. Occupational hazard and all.
