Summary
Before Earth was officially colonized, it was tested—in secret, in silence, and without oversight. One such experiment, buried beneath red stone and forgotten by time, reactivates against all odds and produces a gem that should never have existed.
Elsewhere, a soldier forged on another world returns to Homeworld just in time to watch it fall apart. Disillusioned, he abandons the war and disappears into Earth’s shadows.
Two imperfect creations. Two paths shaped by failure, violence, and survival. On a planet that never asked for either of them, they will find each other—and something more.
