The announcer’s voice crackled over the speakers:
“In the red corner—your reigning underdog—ZERO!”
Izuku didn’t look at the crowd. He never did. The chant of “ZERO! ZERO! ZERO!” washed over him like dirty water.
Then his opponent stepped into the cage.
Tall. Broad-shouldered. Arms like steel cables. A grin that promised destruction.
Stay calm. Breathe. Don’t panic.

They call him Zero, because names are for people. and he isn’t one.
Not down here.
Not in the cages.He was taken years ago, pressed into the underground fighting pits, trained to survive the way kids were never meant to.
