Summary
Back in Asgard twins are considered soulmates. Two halves of the same person born in separate bodies. Because of this they have unhealthy attachments to each other and it is common place for them to eventually enter into romantic relationships.
It is not just common place but expected and odd for a pair of twins to not be in such relationships. In her first life Freya was happily with Freddy; her twin and soulmate both in spirit and magic.
Freddy comes back to a Freyja who doesn't remember him at all.

Freddy broke free of his grandfather and took over Asgard. In his pure determination to get back to Freya he took over and became the new tyrant. Now he just wants to be with her again while keeping the truth a secret. If Freyja knew who he was now, she'd never take him back.
