I'm so sorry," he said, his voice shattering on the last word as tears spilled from his eyes.Now Magnus felt as though their roles had been reversed, that Alec was the one in need of calming and consolation. Went to starbucks and everyone looks like zombies and I'm spacing out myself. All of a sudden, this guy stands next to me and goes, "This is crazy!" Then grabs my hand to hold it. We both look at each other.

Girl behind us: "You're holding the wrong hand, honey."
Him: "You sure?"
Me: "We're sure."
Him: "I feel committed to finishing this Starbucks experience with you now."
Me: "I'm not paying."
