Après leur aventure dans le treizième reflet et la bataille finale au cœur de la lune rouge, la vie doit reprendre son cours pour les héritiers. Qora quant à elle, n'en est pas revenue indemne. Son écaille protectrice s'est fissurée pendant le combat et son corps a absorbé une quantité catastrophique d'éther ombral, causant un lourd déséquilibre dans son fonctionnement.. Vient alors le temps des vacances pour la guerrière de la lumière. Des vacances ensoleillées et torrides sur la terre qui l'a vue naître avec les personnes à qui elle tient le plus au monde.
Mais le passé ne risque-t-il pas de la rattraper?

Though she’s had more than a few close brushes with death in what’s truly been a very short life, she’s not once had to grapple with the thought of it until recently. Perhaps it’s because this, the eventual slow, painful turn from human to sin eater, is not so much a brush with death as it is an untimely rendezvous — she knows they’re supposed to meet, but she hasn’t been told the time or place.

“Well,” she begins to reply mid-scrub of her claws. “There are those who believe that the smaller one is, the further away from the front lines they should be.”
A snort of laughter. “That’s a crock if I’ve heard one. Have they met the bloody dwarves on a battlefield? Size doesn’t matter.”

So, I uh. This concept came from my WoL officially matching Ardbert (despite the fact that the 45 glam is red). Thought it would be cute for Ardbert to react to the WoL taking his jesting advice that they should learn how to swing an axe, and it evolved into a cute confession/fade to black. This is in AU where they're on the Source now, both of them, and WoL has been pining him since the First. Second Person POV is in the unnamed Reader!WoL's POV, so it's somewhat unclear mutual pining, but this is a fluff with the smallest sprinkles of angst.

The Warrior of Light clearly has something bothering them, but the only person they truly wish to confide in happens to be translucent, invisible to their companions, and it's no wonder the Scions and the Exarch, and even Emet-Selch are concerned. The premise of Ardbert being able to touch WoL is present in here, the two depicted to have a rather playful friendship. Emet-Selch comes to figure out what's wrong with their vaunted Hero. Will Ardbert stop teasing WoL long enough for them to address the problems at hand, the pining? This was a cute concept, I thought, and I wrote it during ShB. Repost from my old collection.
