With a dangerous gleam, Korra's eyes raked over her behind the mask, ever taunting and calculating. She swung her trusty bat over her shoulders and canted her hips to the side in a commanding stance as she towered above them, with nothing but pure lunacy shadowed on her face. Her mocha glossed lips spread into the most loony of smiles, and with a unique lilt she demanded, "So what's it gonna be, Miss A? The diamonds...or your father's head?"
Asami let out a shaky gasp, her body practically trembling as she did. She had never expected her day to end up like this; on her knees as a hostage, and to be looking up at the deadliest queenpin in the whole city, and of the underworld herself, the ever-bewitching Miss K.

I'm trying to summarize this, but really, there's no plot that I can think of. Just music and feels and fluff and sex and angst. Obviously, none of the characters are mine (unless I add in an OC - who knows, maybe I will at some point), and DEFINITELY none of the songs are mine.
This is the least planned out thing I have ever posted, and I'm only a couple of chapters into it, so I make zero guarantees as to the posting schedule. I'll try for once a week, but we'll see. I do have other works I want to get finished and up online, as well.
Dang. I just realized I'm exposing my music tastes for the world to see. Uh oh.

Asami thinks about the mountain of expense reports wating for her back in her sweltering office, about another night spent doing math—and not the fun kind—until her eyes glaze over and she falls asleep at her desk without eating, and she briefly entertains the idea of walking into the sea right here and now.
Instead she swings a leg over the side of the jet ski and checks the kill switch, feels the corner of her mouth twitch up into a smile and beckons Korra over with a quick jerk of her head. “Hop on.”

Full summary will be below, at the head of the first chapter. New to LOK. This is a modern AU. This is mostly a field test. I posted some of this on FF.net, but unsure how or if it's actually faring. Found some time to try this; new to AO3 as well. I landed on the title Inevitable.
Basically...
Korra and Asami have been near each other all of their lives, but don't actually meet or know of each other's existence until they're 18. Their parents have the answers to why. What happens when they finally do meet? They immediately begin to unravel each other's lives. They start to change each other, but Korra is a stubborn creature of habit. The origins of their connection will be revealed. Asami will undergo transformations and fill a lifelong void. Korra will learn that not everything is a fight, and that some things truly are inevitable. She won't be alone in her changes, nor will Asami. Their friends will experience their own alterations, and romances. But Korra and her 3 friends have had their fair share of crap and won't be tied back down so easily. That's the real challenge that Asami and her girlfriends must face. Four against four. Tough versus cute. Stout versus hot. How will it go?
