Summary
Hardly any time after their parting, Crowley and Aziraphale are brought back together briefly and dramatically in a bid to stop the Second Coming. Crowley's willingness to sacrifice it all for the sake of Aziraphale and the world has some unexpected consequences that leave Aziraphale all alone to sort it all out, and hopefully save the being he loves most of all, and it's not God.

For a moment The Metatron’s attention was riveted on the demon.
Destroying Crowley. That’s what the angel saw on The Metatron’s face. The clear desire to do so.
