Percy gets to grow up and live his life as the alpha Hero of Olympus. Hermes, the very definitely an alpha god of travel, thieves, and sneakiness gets his staff stolen by a small giant. In one World, a world without alphas and omegas but also with fewer happy endings, this happened before a new set of trials for gods and demigods and Hermes tasked a teenage Percy and Annabeth to help him get it back. In this World, Percy is living a mostly peaceful life, aside from occasionally helping some stranded half-bloods along, but a giant still steals Hermes' staff. In this World, Hermes attempts to get his staff back himself. Percy still ends up helping.

Luke, who's sitting on the plush couch watching stupid shows on the television in front of him, turns as he hears the irritation in his dad’s voice and frowns. It wasn’t like him.
Most of the time, his dad was surprisingly calm and collected for a God. It didn’t impress him or anything, but at least he didn’t end up with the most emotionally unstable of the bunch it seems. For someone who is the God of so many different things, he holds himself together well.
He had to give him that even if he would never give Hermes the satisfaction of hearing it out loud from his mouth.
Luke still hates the Gods and Olympus.
His Dad simply left the list of the Gods he personally has beef with for now. He’s on probation, to measure his worthiness as his Father sorts to speak.
Basically a small fic where Luke gets all the love and affection he needs and wants, but is too shy to ask for it. And Hermes makes sure that he gets to experience a semblance of childhood.

Hermes was never a god that others gave much notice to: he was the youngest of the council, a base born son of Zeus who had been granted his position only due to his usefulness as a messenger. On Olympus, where might makes right and all are ruled by the God King's whims, he was little more than a footnote.
Hermes was weak. Too weak to argue against the council. Too weak to break free from his father's iron grip. But Kingdoms rise and fall through communication while trickery wins wars as easily as strength of arms. All that was needed was a spark, and the love of a parent for their child is enough to bring even gods to their knees.
