Summary
Winters in New York meant one thing: snow, and lots of it. Half the time, the citizens were either gathered around fire pits or salting and shoveling streets to clear the way for the busy city life. With the days getting colder and colder, she found that she didn’t leave the homestead unless she absolutely had to, and it usually wasn’t often that she even did. Unfortunately, with the colder weather coming in, it also meant illness was quick to follow, and she figured it better safe than sorry to travel to an apothecary and get supplies in case someone at the homestead got sick and needed remedy that they didn’t have.

Summary
Connor was sneaky. Which was good when it came to his career as an Assassin. On the rare times that she’d actually seen him in action, she was utterly blown away at how such a heavily built person could move with such stillness. She’d watched him take down every soldier in the fort within minutes, and not a single alarm bell had been rung, nor did any soldier see or hear him coming—he was a master hunter, and she was proud that he used his skills for the better. That being said, Connor had a streak of using his skills for the worse.

“Well, Ratonhnhaké:ton teaches me when he can.” She held out her hand. “You’re Kanen'tó:kon, then?”
He nodded, shaking her hand. “I remember seeing you when I came to warn him about Johnson.”
She tipped her head and clasped her hands in front of her. “I wished the situation hadn’t been dire or else I’d’ve introduced myself.”
His eyes scanned her face. “And yet you have come now. Is Ratonhnhaké:ton alright?”

Summary
Connor was comfortable in crowds. He could navigate through them with ease, like water flowing down a mountain stream. He could hide in plain sight, assassinate targets and keep moving undetected, he could even pickpocket high level targets without them noticing. Crowds were his element.
That being said, Connor did better in big crowds than he did small ones, she decided. Anonymity was his friend, being onymous was not. And as she looked over at him from the kitchen, she knew she needed to get over him or he was going to explode.

Summary
With a wedding comes peace—peace between clans, peace across the mountains, peace in every fjord...
And chaos within Randvi’s very being. When she meets a wolf amid an unkindness of Ravens, she hardly expects the craving to invite such long teeth into the meat of her heart.
-
“If he hurts you,” she hisses, her breath warm on Randvi’s ear, “I am too far in drink to keep from striking him.”
Randvi twists to meet her gaze for an instant, their stares clashing. She wets her lips with a nervous dart of her tongue and finds strength in the hungry way Eivor tracks it. “Stand near and let me look at you, and it will be smoother for me.”
She does not linger to see the slight widening of Eivor’s eyes at that, the flare of her nostrils and the clenching of her jaw. Randvi turns and follows her husband to their bridal couch to the wingbeat cadence of her racing heart.

Summary
The leaves crunched under his boots with each step, and though it wasn’t cold, he curled his arms tighter into his coat as he hurried to her cottage. Connor couldn’t deny that Achilles words had frightened him, mind thinking of the worst news that she could’ve received. He neared her home, stopping in his tracks as he caught sight of her sitting against a log beside fire she’d built, one hand clutched into a fist, the other curled around the neck of a bottle. He stared at her face, eyes focused on the flames before her, lips mouthing words. The licking and crackling of the fire hid her sounds, but the closer he moved, the louder her voice became, and he realized she was singing.

Summary
She spun around, hand going to her eyes. “Oh my god! I’m sorry, Ratonhnhaké:ton!” She fumbled for the doorknob, pulling it shut. “I’ll wait until you’re done!”
The door shut behind her and she waited, warmth spreading across her cheeks at her actions, then a moment later, the doorknob twisted in her grip and she let go, turning around as he opened the door for her.
Evidently, he was as flustered as she was, because a faint red dusted his cheeks and he mumbled, “I am dressed.”

“Foolish is more like it.” Something soft touched her face and she registered that he was wiping the blood away with a handkerchief.
“Perhaps…but it takes a courageous heart to stand up to injustice.” Her lips pulled into a grin and she said,
“You tell this to all the woman you save?” His dark brows furrowed, and he asked,
“What do you mean?” She blinked, suddenly embarrassed at her words and she shook her head, offering,

“Oh no, I understand, Ratonhnhaké:ton. Someone as handsome as you are entitled to tease young doe eyed women every now and then.” It was Connor’s turn to fluster and he quickly looked away; she watched a tint of red rise high on his cheeks and she let out a giggle, reaching up to poke his cheek. “Are you blushing? That’s adorable.”
A grimace crossed his face and he muttered, “I am not adorable.”

“And just what does that mean?”
He snorted, nudging one of the sailors next to him. “I just mean that it seems to me like a certain young man has his eyes on a certain young woman.”
Her jaw dropped and she reached over, slapping his shoulder. “Robert Faulkner, how dare you make such an assumption!”
He rubbed his shoulder, laughing as he dodged her other hand. “Not an assumption if it’s true!”

“But I want to look at you.” His fingers subconsciously tightened around hers as he inquired suspiciously,
“Why?” (Y/N) grinned as she tipped her head, giving her enough room to catch sight of him, quipping,
“Because there might be something on your mind and the only way I’ll pull it out of you is if I bat my eyelashes and ask nicely.” Connor’s eyes narrowed and he muttered,
