Well, let's pretend Shiro had been firmer with her, and in a desperate attempt to save her father, Pidge goes along with the hostage exchange herself.
Naturally, things go horribly wrong.

So when she is adopted by Loid at age 14, with his thinking she was 16, she knew she was getting into another life of secrets and lies. But that was all she had ever known.
In this universe, Everyone is 16 and Anya 14, adopted at that age and here is basically how I think the story would go if she was in and out of foster care/ adoptions until this age when Loid adopts her. Demetrius Desmond will also be 18, 2 years older than Damian instead of the 10 (?) year gap.
Anya's also gonna be dealing with a hella lot of shit, physically, mentally and socially from the childhood trauma, lack of love, meddling in crime and self-destructive behaviours.
