The apartment was smaller than the word apartment deserved.
Calling it a box would have been more honest. Four walls, a ceiling low enough that Peter felt like he’d bang his head trying to stand up from unpacking, and a window that technically opened but jammed half the time. The place smelled faintly of mildew, maybe because of the carpet - or maybe because this whole building had given up on life a few decades ago and was just waiting for someone merciful to bulldoze it.
He told himself it was fine. He told himself worse things had happened. Which, technically, was true.
That didn’t make him feel any better.

“I haven’t done anything but mess a lot of things up for people.” Peter dismisses immediately.

Post No Way Home Peter Parker - As Spider-man - is hired at the small coffee shop named Grounds for Celebration in an attempt to get his life back together. At the same time it is revealed that Tony Stark hadn't actually died during the final battle against Thanos, of course Peter Parker hadn't been privy for that information.

very stupid.As simple as that definition is, it seemed to apply to Peter a little too accurately when it came to hiding his identity. But! It wasn't his fault he was bad at lying - he was simply a good person (and Ned was just as bad). Or that he would unintentionally use his powers in public - you try being a mutant for a day!
Throwing himself out of a window in front of his entire class, however... was a little harder to excuse.
