  Summary

  Edwin Hughes, an eleven-year-old from Alice Springs, flees his home after relentless abuse at the hands of his parents, particularly his father. Wandering for almost two weeks down the Stuart Highway on a 200km journey for Ghan, the boy--who has nothing but the clothes on his back, an empty water bottle, and his faith in God--is convinced things can't possibly get worse.
